The apartment was in a good location. The car park was about a 5 minute walk, there’s a Tesco express, some restaurants/cafes nearby within the development. The condition of the apartment lets it down, it feels like it has been neglected. The front door had been broken into and it was repaired by putting a piece of wood/mdf on the broken part and another lock fitted a bit further up. It gave an immediate bad impression and raised concerns about the security of the apartment. The kitchen units were damaged, the ironing board was burnt, the bed was uncomfortable with a mattress topper that sinks to the middle of the bed. However the apartment building or the area in general didn’t feel unsafe. On the plus side, it was clean, had a nice view over the dock from the balcony and the bedroom and had great WiFi. The handling of the check in process by the host/management company was also a let down, I had to contact the host over the phone who assured me the check in details will be sent on the day of the check in, and I had to contact them on the day of the check in to request it again as it hadn’t been sent. There was no communication apart from the automated booking email and my emails and messages requesting the check in details were ignored. Overall it was an Ok experience and decent value with free parking included in the price.
