The room was large and clean. The WIFI was good and the Indian Food was very nice too. As was Breakfast. Sadly it was let down a little by service. I had to chase for some simple things and at times felt like I had been forgotten. Parking was free with a large amount of car parking available. I would give this place another go because you can catch people on an off day, and the place itself is lovely.

Great welcome, staff very helpful and friendly, super decor scheme, very tasty in rooms and in the Indian restaurant below and what a bonus that was! Terrific high quality cooking, Indian food at its very best! Locals in the bar were very friendly, it really is a great place to stop. Bed was a bit spingy and soft but otherwise full marks, we will return for sure!

The hotel is situated in the perfect area for local sights such as heights of Abraham and other peak district activities. There is ample parking on site and a kids park 10 mins walk away if needed. The bar/ restaurant is decorated to a high standard and very inviting. There are quiz nights, music nights and happy hour until 6pm. If you want a quiet evening there is seats out the way if needed. The rooms are decorated well and have all the facilities required. Only thing to note is a couple of the fixtures just need tightening but other than that a beautiful room which is very cosy, relaxing and perfect for rest. I booked for our 2 year old which said there was a infant bed upon request. This didn't happen which I assume was a miscommunication on the app. Luckily I brought my own travel cot anyway. We ate in the restaurant which is good price,decent portions and cooked well and authentic Indian. They were very accommodating for our child giving him colouring, some milk for bed time, high chair and overall kindness. Slept well however heating was on which made it a bit hot in the morning. Breakfast was amazing (hot breakfast wednesday- Friday) and continental the other days. Overall perfect little family break away and amazing for the cost. Would recommend and likely stay again if we visit the peak district again.

Spacious, recently decorated and refurbished rooms. Good bar and restaurant downstairs. Exterior of the building needs some attention though as looks a bit of a haunted house!! Arrived on a Monday when the restaurant is closed (?) Quiz night on and breakfast needs some work on it to be more substantial, but overall a good place to stay in lovely surroundings.

Hotel is pub/Indian restaurant. Very friendly staff upon arrival Room was clean and comfortable. Evening meal was excellent from the Indian inspired menu. Breakfast was cooked to order and very nice.

Lovely welcoming staff and a fresh refit gave the best of both between old and new. The food was lovely too, predominantly Indian based which my wife and I enjoyed immensely. Parking is also very good and had the unexpected surprise of air conditioning in our room. If my wife’s bedside lamp had a bulb, then this would have been a flawless visit. Would certainly choose again.

Nice welcome friendly staff all round. Very good sized room, comfortable bed, nice sized bathroom with shower. Plenty of tea and coffee The room needs a little tlc but nothing badly The bathroom needs attention to mould around the shower tray it’s not a deal breaker Breakfast was good with a nice choice. The restaurant and bar is large well laid out and seems very popular Would definitely recommend the place

Lovely weekend break. Nice breakfast and also ate there one evening, which was pretty good. Enjoyed a few drinks in the bar and also walked to 2 other local pubs. A shame you can’t walk alongside the river near to the hotel, so big loads to do. But was a good stay with friendly staff. Room could be slightly cleaner.

Plenty of parking to the rear of the premises was ideal. Our initial welcome wasn't great, with staff too busy dealing with customers in this thriving pub/resturaunt. Once attended too however, the staff were friendly and professional. We booked in for an Indian meal and this was nice and fresh, though I would have perhaps appreciated larger portions of both rice and breads. The hotel was clean and warm, whilst boasting a bar that was clearly well attended by locals in a nice and modern setting. Our room was cosy, with plenty of room and even though we faced the main road, thanks to the extra glazing panels installed in front of the old windows, noise was at a reasonable level. The following morning, our breakfast offered a decent choice and the full English proved to be ample and good quality. This seems to be a well run place. Staff were friendly and welcoming and we would stay again.

Very hot spell and towel rails were on high so bathroomss like saunas. Hot water is very hot and my room by the main road had superb soundproofing but the windows dont open so very warm. Food very good, staff very helpfull. Would I go back again, YES when it is cooler.

Well situated for visiting local attractions like Chatsworth, the staff are all really friendly and nothing is too much trouble, the rooms are all large and very well furnished and the Indian food served is fantastic. The only negative is that it’s right on the main road (busy A6) so if your room is at the front it’s quite noisy when you’re trying to sleep. I would re-visit but would request a room at the back as I’m a very light sleeper.

The Strutt arms was a great experience. The owners were very friendly and helpful. There is an Indian restaurant on site ,and also have other foods . The standard double room was small ,but was very comfortable, it had a 37 inch television on the wall ,a portable fan,a comfy king-size bed and tea and coffee ,hot chocolate and biscuits if you feel peckish, and a complimentary jug of ice cold water as well. Internet access very good in the accommodation. Bus stop right outside if you want to explore around the area. And some lovely scenic walks close by. Also the breakfast in the morning was continental or full English,but the staff do cater for your needs , it was a very nice breakfast. All in all a fantastic stay at The Strutt arms.

The staff were so friendly and attentive throughout our stay. A lovely and welcoming hotel . Beautiful location. Modern fan in room -great for hot weather . Lovely shower. Generous breakfast - great quality and service. Thank you . We would highly recommend

A really helpful and friendly team providing great service. My dietary restrictions were manged really sympathetically. The room was freshly redecorated and refurbished to a high standard. Only issue was a lack of a set of drawers for storing clothes - we kept them in our suitcases on the floor.

Well situated for visiting local attractions like Chatsworth, the staff are all really friendly and nothing is too much trouble, the rooms are all large and very well furnished and the Indian food served is fantastic. The only negative is that it’s right on the main road (busy A6) so if your room is at the front it’s quite noisy when you’re trying to sleep. I would re-visit but would request a room at the back as I’m a very light sleeper.

The hotel is situated in the perfect area for local sights such as heights of Abraham and other peak district activities. There is ample parking on site and a kids park 10 mins walk away if needed. The bar/ restaurant is decorated to a high standard and very inviting. There are quiz nights, music nights and happy hour until 6pm. If you want a quiet evening there is seats out the way if needed. The rooms are decorated well and have all the facilities required. Only thing to note is a couple of the fixtures just need tightening but other than that a beautiful room which is very cosy, relaxing and perfect for rest. I booked for our 2 year old which said there was a infant bed upon request. This didn't happen which I assume was a miscommunication on the app. Luckily I brought my own travel cot anyway. We ate in the restaurant which is good price,decent portions and cooked well and authentic Indian. They were very accommodating for our child giving him colouring, some milk for bed time, high chair and overall kindness. Slept well however heating was on which made it a bit hot in the morning. Breakfast was amazing (hot breakfast wednesday- Friday) and continental the other days. Overall perfect little family break away and amazing for the cost. Would recommend and likely stay again if we visit the peak district again.

The Strutt arms was a great experience. The owners were very friendly and helpful. There is an Indian restaurant on site ,and also have other foods . The standard double room was small ,but was very comfortable, it had a 37 inch television on the wall ,a portable fan,a comfy king-size bed and tea and coffee ,hot chocolate and biscuits if you feel peckish, and a complimentary jug of ice cold water as well. Internet access very good in the accommodation. Bus stop right outside if you want to explore around the area. And some lovely scenic walks close by. Also the breakfast in the morning was continental or full English,but the staff do cater for your needs , it was a very nice breakfast. All in all a fantastic stay at The Strutt arms.

Hotel was located on the main road, which we found a little noisy at nights. Although we couldn't hear the restaurant and bar noise at all. We highly recommend the restaurant and the breakfast included in our stay. We would definitely stay there again but would request a room at the rear.

The owner was extremely polite and helpful immediately we walked. The room was clean and equipped as per description. The staff were great and really polite and the bar and restaurant area had a nice atmosphere. Having dropped our stuff and gone for a walk we checked out some other options to eat but returned to The Strufg Arms. We were not disappointed. I’ve been lucky enough to eat curries in a number of countries. The Railway Lanb was. absolutely amazing. So tasty and depth of flavour was brilliant. In the morning we were served a full English that was lovely and again all the staff were lovely. I would highly recommend The Strutt Arms which is now known as The Elephant and Peacock.

Some challanges to find the location, but it was re-designed and looked very well. on monday the kitchen is closed which is a point because in the villages isn't much to eat. Eating is maybe not the strongest point, the continental breakfast was underneath the quality we suspected. I don't know which continent they are refering to but it looked Africa.

Great welcome, staff very helpful and friendly, super decor scheme, very tasty in rooms and in the Indian restaurant below and what a bonus that was! Terrific high quality cooking, Indian food at its very best! Locals in the bar were very friendly, it really is a great place to stop. Bed was a bit spingy and soft but otherwise full marks, we will return for sure!

Very nice rooms and friendly Staff. Down side no food served on a Mondays. Breakfast doesn't start until 7.30 am but on my stay the chief still hadn't turned up when I left at 7.50. Shame as it a nice place.

Spacious, recently decorated and refurbished rooms. Good bar and restaurant downstairs. Exterior of the building needs some attention though as looks a bit of a haunted house!! Arrived on a Monday when the restaurant is closed (?) Quiz night on and breakfast needs some work on it to be more substantial, but overall a good place to stay in lovely surroundings.

The place was, on the whole, satisfactory: but a couple of things were flies in the ointment! First, the place is no longer called The Strutt Arms; it's called the Elephant and Peacock, so we spent a while driving to and fro past the place, and were only told it was where we wanted when we called in to enquire the way! Second we were not told that the place closes on Monday so no evening meal was available. When we asked where we could eat the very nice young man on duty could give us no exact advice as he was standing in for a friend and not really employed there! However the breakfast was fine and the atmosphere cheerful.

Not without issues, but enjoyed my stay! The staff are all fantastic! Nice location, easy parking, quiet. Breakfast is really nice but the food in the Indian restaurant is superb! The Biryani pie in particular was just sensational! Slight negatives: the mattress was seriously uncomfortable, shower was weak and uncontrollably hot and the TV remote was missing but these are easily fixed. I'd still happily return and will look forward to it!

On arrival the staff was very helpful. Rooms not the cleanest. A lot of cobwebs & spiders, bad marks in the bathroom that could have been cleaned easy. Toilet seat very loose & wobbly. Water left in the kettle, not sure how long for so wouldn’t use it. Hair dryer, iron & iron board in the room ready to use if needed. Good soft bed but next to a busy road so it’s very noisy all throughout the night. Breakfast not good. Continental consisted of cereal & flapjacks with no bowls to put the cereal in. Cooked breakfast was like it was cooked the evening before and warmed up ( hard sausages, hard bacon & hash browns so greasy & dark you couldn’t eat it. Evening meal very nice and enjoyable

We had a nice stay here. The room is well decorated and equipped. The staff were welcoming & friendly. We enjoyed a good meal in the accompanying pub! The included breakfast offers a good spread. We stayed during a rather warm weekend/heatwave, a fan was provided in the room. However of note it is an old building so is warm. Also its location on the A6 means there is some road noise if the window is open. However we enjoyed our stay and would return!

Staff were great, breakfast was great, rooms were great and wow the pillows are the best I’ve slept on. Lovely hotel in a lovely location. My only criticism would be our bedroom walls could do with a freshen up, but 10/10 otherwise.
