The hotel's pool was closed for "major" maintenance but that wasn't mentioned on the Hotels.com website. Staff were friendly. Hallway carpet on the 2nd and 4th floors had lots of stains and one of the side doors that was supposed to be locked to get in was always open and unsecured.

The employees were so professional and went above and beyond my needs and from what I observed the needs of others in a challenging environment. The front desk woman I couldn’t see her name but she had a tattoo on the back of her calf. She was amazing. The neighnhood is very bad, but I think that’s all of Salem. I felt safe in the hotel. The pool was not in service. For an indoor pool I thought that ridiculous for a Holiday Inn. In short. The employees make every positive aspect about the property. No idea why the property wouldn’t have full facilities for the price. The maids were stellar also. Super clean.

Reserved a room here solely for the indoor pool for my daughter…pool was open one of the days we were here, but closed due to maintenance the second day. No discounts were offered when we complained. Also a lot of confusion about the breakfast. Because I reserved through a “third party” (Expedia), they weren’t going to offer discounted breakfast. Went across the street to a lovely place called the “Sassy Onion” though. Ultimately seems like management is trying to cut corners and being shady about it.

Parking was easy. In the room Our tub wouldn’t drain correctly. The service didn’t come at all on Sunday, we weren’t even in the room but the towels needed replacing and the garbage was overflowing. We got back later in the evening to none of it done. Don’t recommend the restaurant attached. We waited over an hour for our easy food to have the manager lie to us it was on the way, to the waitress saying a table was ahead of us making it over an hour wait for very few people in the restaurant. I was so upset ( didn’t cause a seen ) asked to have it boxed to head to our room. The manager and waitress were speaking Spanish and staring at us. I felt very uncomfortable about what they were saying about us. Didn’t go back even though we paid the “ extra “ with our 4 day reservation for the breakfast. I won’t be staying here again.

Our room was mostly clean, though it had a weird smell and several mystery hairs in the bed which made me think the sheets weren’t changed. The shower had several stains and hairs as well. It was last minute so we couldn’t change hotels otherwise I would have.

Stay was nice as they have comfortable beds and working ac/heating unit. Complaints would be that the bathroom doesn't have a fan, there was gunk on the wall of the shower, and possible burn mark rigt beside the shower.

Got put in a dirty room, they switched me rooms after I let them know the beds weren’t made and the trash was full of beer cans. We didn’t get any apologies or any compensation for inconvenience. We ate dinner there on site we ordered two of the same items but didn’t ask both if we wanted sauces and then they forgot the au juice on one only and when asked about it they acted like they didn’t know. Food overall wasn’t bad but I wouldn’t go unless your to tired to go out

I arrived around 11:30 from Atlanta where it was already three hours later. I needed a good night's sleep. There were no room darkening shades on the window, so I was only able to sleep until 5:30 when the sun awakened me. The keurig was on top of the microwave, and I had to move it down to the counter so I could see how and where to add the water. It should be on the counter instead of the ice bucket.

Our bed was too stiff, and the tv remote wouldn't function properly so we only had one station option and they couldn't figure out how to fix it. The air unit was very loud, and something else kept kicking off and on throughout the night that was very loud as well and woke us up repeatedly. I expected better for the cost. We don't plan to stay here again.

Overall it was a decent experience. The staff was not always friendly but overall they were okay. There was a gentlemen at the desk who was extremely friendly and helpful but two women were not very kind to us. We had a special needs child with us who makes noises involuntarily but they still continually told us to keep him quiet. The water pressure in the shower was absolutely horrible. The room was nice but we paid for complimentary breakfast but at the last minute was told that we did not get breakfast. It was a decent stay, the pool was nice but the staff could use some retraining.

The pool was amazing. I was given a room that was super small. The room i got was not the one i purchased.The bathroom was small with no where to set anything. The toilet had no seat cover. I was very dissappointed. Had to stay the whole 3 nights do to it being none refundable which i have never run into until this trip

The front desk help was surly. I felt like I was doing them a favor by staying there. The 1st night I was there a maintenance person used his pass key to gain entry unannounced. Stay over rooms are not cleaned on a daily basis. I believe I was not given the room rate that was quoted on the Hotels.com website. because of this I will give serious consideration of not using Hotels.com.again, or staying at Holiday Inn Salem.

First of all, check in took us like 10 minutes because we were waiting for someone to come up to help. Back when a made my reservation, I asked for late checkout, and never heard back so I thought we were all set as always but noooop. I asked the lady just to double check and she told me "WE NEED TO CHECK BECAUSE WE USUALLY GIVE PREFERENCE TO OUR MEMBERS" like REALLY!!! So my money is not worth or what??? That was rude to me. I felt like her answer could have be better as a front desk clerk she is. Secondly, when we finally got our keys, we got to the room and they WEREN'T EVEN ACTIVATED.... so we had to go all the way down to do so. Finally, hallways were really stinky this time and when we enter the room and start checking things around, we were really surprised. Our shower floor was dirty (yellowish-blackish), no shiny as usual. There was barely, BARELY toilet paper and not even a bar soap to shower. No exactly sure what happen this time, but with that costumer service and this other bobos, I might consider to stay somewhere else next time where there appreciate us as guests!!!

Despite being surrounded on all sides by homeless the hotel itself stands out being a clean beacon where I can safely rest my head. Only a few nearby restaurants worth checking out it served me perfectly well for my limited stay in Oregon.

Property was pretty well kept. Used the pool. Room wasva little small. Lobby was newly remodeled. Homeless in the parking lot and adjacent lots, so wouldn't recommend walking around there after dark. Short drive to restaurants and mall.

A little disappointed with midnight noise caused by a homeless camp behind the hotel. Seen some tents setup with people fighting and arguing in the middle of the night. With that said, breakfast, customer service was great! Hope that management works on cleaning up parking lot with garbage from the homeless walking around! Thanks

A large homeless encampment is set up in an adjacent parking lot. We were afraid to park our car in the parking lot for fear of break-in. There was an issue checking in at the front desk, the room was paid for but they insisted on a $100 deposit on our credit card but their machine wasn't working so they wrote out card # down. I don't like that, not to mention that they eventually put a hold on the card and it is still pending 6 days later. I talked to the front desk at check out about the hold and was assured it would drop off that day. Still waiting. We will not be back.

Arrived after a very long drive to be told the bar and restaurant were closed as it’s Sunday. Hotel was booked for these facilities but they were not available. Still advertised on website and on huge posters in the lift. Helpful suggestion from reception was order a food delivery!!! While opening facilities is beyond his control this did not sit well

This was a nice hotel. The breakfast isn't included but we'd paid for it beforehand. Unfortunately, he couldn't find that we had but then he finally did. So that was a little unnerving. The restaurant that served the breakfast was very nice and we had a good breakfast. The facility was nice and clean.

This hotel is way too overpriced for the accommodations. Website misleading with breakfast available. It is not included but you have to pay high prices at the restaurant for a terrible breakfast. Surrounding area was very sketchy. Sirens running all night. Would not recommend

The stay was good, however when we booked the room we had 4 people and we paid 10 to include two more breakfast or that was our understanding and then after we ate breakfast and gave them voucher, they then told us that what we ordered wasn’t part of the offer, but we were not informed prior, they did honor it, but not without an argument, putting us in a bad position

Reserved a room here solely for the indoor pool for my daughter…pool was open one of the days we were here, but closed due to maintenance the second day. No discounts were offered when we complained. Also, the complimentary breakfast was excellent except: why did I have to pay $3.00 for a cup of tea? Coffee for my husband was free, juices were free, but a stupid cup of hot water and a teabag cost me.

After a long day driving, one likes to get checked in quickly and get to the room to relax. This did not happen, though there were 2 staff present. The one staff informed me that she was still helping the person ahead of me (sitting nearby, but not at the counter). Though there was no other customers waiting, the other staff preferred to help the first staff person with the customer who was waiting. Once they got this other customer sorted out, the first staff person started helping me. Except there were issues in running my card for the incidentals, so she needed help from the other staff. What should have been about a 5 minute check-in took way too long.

This was not a great experience. When we got to our room (333), immediately we noticed red stains, that honestly looked like large blood droplets, all over the floor. I called the front desk and asked to move rooms, but none were available. So I asked for something to put over the stains because I was completely grossed out and there were several right in the middle of the floor, and they said they’d bring 2 bath mats up (basically towels). We waited, but no one brought them so I went to the front desk to get them. There was no one at the front desk. I rang the bell and waited, then rang the bell again. Then a person who had been vaping or smoking outside the front doors the whole time came in and went behind the front desk. I gave her the situation, and her response was “oh yeah, I was checking in other guests”. Um, no, you chose to go have a smoke first and then forgot about me. I got the two towel/mats from her and went up and covered as much as I could. There was no “Do not disturb” sign, so we couldn’t skip housekeeping the next day. When we returned to our room later that day, a housekeeper had been in, taken all of our towels (which were hanging up) AND all of the bath mats we had covering the stains, didn’t make the bed…and LEFT US ZERO NEW TOWELS or mats! I had to go BACK down to the front desk to get fresh towels and bath mats to cover the stains. We referred to our room as “The Murder Room”. We will not be staying here again.
