This hotel was comfortable, well staffed and had a nice pub downstairs that offers dining. The Ullswater was within walking distance of the docks berthing older steam boats, very interesting. I recommend it.

Great venue , ideal location . Could do with more bar staff - only 2 people covering bar on Friday night . Bedrooms VERY warm , despite no radiators on - slept with windows open in October. But really nice venue , would return no , problem.

Booked to allow direct access on to Helvelyn. The hotel is ideally located on the waste of the village and was great for a few days on the mountains. Staff were friendly and helpful and the bar was great after a hard day with good food.

A super place to stay great location for the Lake District and climbing up Helvellyn. You will not be disappointed good breakfast and wide menu. Just two concerns to be aware of: 1 Hotel has small car park so may not get in 2 Although the menu was extensive for a coeliac it was atrocious with only one option. From our experience it is not difficult to make a lots of dishes gluten free. eg a roast with gluten free gravy and no Yorkshire pudding. I would have liked to stay there again and for more than one night but lack of options on the menu for a coeliac means it is rather pointless. This is a great shame.

Beautiful property and the restaurant and food was delicious! Staff friendly and check in easy Our double room was cute with a little sofa area and table and chairs next to a cute little window overlooking the rear car park but … with a view to the lake I love old properties like this and it was decorated lovely too The negatives .. No towels in room so had to get these ourselves Weird ‘old peoples home’ smell around as a whole but sheets smelled this way too It was very clean just this odd smell around Parking very limited but you can find local parking for under £10 for 24 hours Overall good stay, happy with room and would stay again But do prefer another hotel nearby if I had a choice

Ullswater Inn deserves 10/10 stars. It is truly remarkable. Beautiful, historic, classy, and fun. It ticks all the boxes for an exciting and convenient getaway to the Lake District. Sitting in the heart of Glenridding, it is convenient to other shops and recreational property such as a park and multiple hiking routes. Although check-in requires navigating a labyrinth due to the renovations to such an old building (if you come in from the rear), it is well worth it and adds to the mystique of the property (check-in is at the bar). Rooms are spacious and more than adequate. The bar and restaurant are arguably the highlight of the property. The free breakfast is more than enough with multiple options and additional to order options. Lunch and dinner menus also offer a wide variety of options that were all phenomenal. Grab a seat, enjoy the views of the lake and peaks, and enjoy a pint! You will not regret it.

Great place, stayed in glenridding many times but not here. Lovely staff and stay, gripes were the dust and cleanliness of the room. £260 for a room, very dusty, marks on the bedding, socks left on night stand from previous stayer, marks on bathroom mirror, windows left with hand and finger marks too. We only stayed for 1 night so wasn’t toooo bad but still, £260 and having things like that for me aren’t the best. Everything else was lovely though. 24° really warm, and couldn’t use the fan as it’s covered with dust, as soon as it goes on it will cover the room.

The hotel was perfectly located for walking. The room was very clean there was just some lipstick/ makeup marks on the bathroom wall which I didn't expect as the room was expensive. But overall it was a luxury experience. Breakfast was nice

Great stay, great value for money. Location lovely and lake view didnt disappoint. Food lovely. Service friendly. The whole hotel was clean. If I had 1 thing to say it could do with is to provide bottled water in the room.

The Inn was beautiful. The room was spacious. The restaurant had many options. The walls were a bit scuffed and dirty. There was no AC in the room. The night we were there it was very warm. There was one fan in the room which helped somewhat. The TV channels didn’t work. Overall it was a solid option.

The manager Richard was the only good thing about the hotel apart from the view!!! The bathroom was tiny and the door was hitting the toilet and very limited space in the bathroom. The bath was dirty full of hair when we complained we was offered a free drink My sisters room there was poo on the toilet seat !!! We had to clean our own room When we ordered food we was told 30-40 min wait this turned out to be a hour !! When food turned up my sisters was missing and waited 10 mins incase it was just late or couldn’t carry it but when we spoke they said it will be out when it’s out and he was very rude… when we said we’ve already been waiting he huffed and said they burnt it so had to remake it… then the pizza came out burnt round the outside and raw in the middle…. I found a slug type looking thing in my burger… the chips was greasy … the only nice member of staff was the manager the rest very rude unhelpful the girl slammed the plate down

Newly refurbished, lovely large family room and bathroom, next to the lake, staff were lovely. Car park was full the first night so parked nearby and moved to the hotel car park in the morning when others left. My only complaint was that the dinner seemed over priced (£20 for fish and chips).

Last minute trip to the Lakes. Super easy check-in, lovely Sunday roast, dog friendly, spacious, clean, well presented bedroom & a plentiful full English breakfast. Staff super friendly, helpful & accommodating. We’ll be definitely coming back.

Property is great, location fantastic however guy who checked us in was rude and not very courteous to the extent he said He shouldn’t be here, our room was set up for 2 people not the 3 adults we had booked for, when we reported this at reception he came upto our room and when I opened the door his words were you guys are hard to please, we reported this to the general manager who wasn’t really bothered this is probably because it is her husband, given we paid £280 for one night I thought the level of customer service was terrible, I would not stay here again under this management

Great food and drinks in the restaurant. Breakfast served from 7.30am Mon - Sat and 8am on Sunday. Recently renovated, friendly staff, evening meal was great, try the steak pie!

Average. Overpriced. Staff not particularly friendly especially when bar closes at 11.pm and no further drinks served even to residents. Won't be going back.

The manager Richard was the only good thing about the hotel apart from the view!!! The bathroom was tiny and the door was hitting the toilet and very limited space in the bathroom. The bath was dirty full of hair when we complained we was offered a free drink My sisters room there was poo on the toilet seat !!! We had to clean our own room When we ordered food we was told 30-40 min wait this turned out to be a hour !! When food turned up my sisters was missing and waited 10 mins incase it was just late or couldn’t carry it but when we spoke they said it will be out when it’s out and he was very rude… when we said we’ve already been waiting he huffed and said they burnt it so had to remake it… then the pizza came out burnt round the outside and raw in the middle…. I found a slug type looking thing in my burger… the chips was greasy … the only nice member of staff was the manager the rest very rude unhelpful the girl slammed the plate down

This hotel was comfortable, well staffed and had a nice pub downstairs that offers dining. The Ullswater was within walking distance of the docks berthing older steam boats, very interesting. I recommend it.

Room's were clean, good breakfast, ideal for walking .View's were stunning. Staff were friendly. Not many car parking space but the car park was about 2 mins away. Overall a good place to stay

Booked to allow direct access on to Helvelyn. The hotel is ideally located on the waste of the village and was great for a few days on the mountains. Staff were friendly and helpful and the bar was great after a hard day with good food.

A super place to stay great location for the Lake District and climbing up Helvellyn. You will not be disappointed good breakfast and wide menu. Just two concerns to be aware of: 1 Hotel has small car park so may not get in 2 Although the menu was extensive for a coeliac it was atrocious with only one option. From our experience it is not difficult to make a lots of dishes gluten free. eg a roast with gluten free gravy and no Yorkshire pudding. I would have liked to stay there again and for more than one night but lack of options on the menu for a coeliac means it is rather pointless. This is a great shame.

Ullswater Inn deserves 10/10 stars. It is truly remarkable. Beautiful, historic, classy, and fun. It ticks all the boxes for an exciting and convenient getaway to the Lake District. Sitting in the heart of Glenridding, it is convenient to other shops and recreational property such as a park and multiple hiking routes. Although check-in requires navigating a labyrinth due to the renovations to such an old building (if you come in from the rear), it is well worth it and adds to the mystique of the property (check-in is at the bar). Rooms are spacious and more than adequate. The bar and restaurant are arguably the highlight of the property. The free breakfast is more than enough with multiple options and additional to order options. Lunch and dinner menus also offer a wide variety of options that were all phenomenal. Grab a seat, enjoy the views of the lake and peaks, and enjoy a pint! You will not regret it.

Newly refurbished, lovely large family room and bathroom, next to the lake, staff were lovely. Car park was full the first night so parked nearby and moved to the hotel car park in the morning when others left. My only complaint was that the dinner seemed over priced (£20 for fish and chips).

Excellent value for the room and breakfast. We would not do we here for dinner as food didn’t look great for the price being asked. But the hotel staff and breakfast was lovely!!

Very authentic and nice atmosphere and very helpful staff, wonderful surroundings! The only negative thing in the room was the central heating radiator which could not be fully turned off.

Room was spacious and clean with everything you need. It was a bit hot in the room due to the weather but a fan was provided. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. Bar/restaurant was very nice but was let down by slow service on the evening in part due to a lot of the guest coming in all together. Although there is on site parking this is very limited and you may need to park overnight in the public parking area at an additional cost.

Hotel rooms fab and a great location Food was average re dinner. Breakfast was poor. Bacon wet and under cooked and black pudding was hard and like an ice hockey puck. Staff and management pleasant and helped if you needed it. Limited parking but other parking available local to the hotel.
