Residence Grey Nuns by Concordia University

Kinda creepy esp when I found it it’s over a burial site of 222 nuns and 55 children got burned up not to mention it’s prb an old native residential school. Had no coffee or breakfast. Room was very hot and the bathrooms were creepy too. Didn’t feel safe.

1. It’s basically a hostel and I paid $200/night 2. Get a towel and a bar of soap as your amenity. 3. Don’t even provide coffee - and it was $200/night. 4. Security staff not helpful - appeared to be glued to their chair.

Convenience of placement right downtown was nice, room was good also, no a/c but that was known, but brought a few small fans along with me. My only concern was that it was a shared (male/female) bathroom and shower room and a little concerning when I travelled with my teenage daughter. Otherwise, room was clean, staff was very pleasant and overall a great experience. Would do it again☺️

The property was advertised to have free parking. That is not the case. There is a massive parking lot on the property, but it was reserved for staff. Maybe 50 parking spots and none of them were being used. I felt insulted when I was told Id have to go searching for paid parking instead.

Good things: - location (close to public transit and St. Catherine street) - value for money - Check-in time is like 3 oo 4 PM. I reached around 12 noon and yet the room was ready for me. - Staff is fluent in English. What's not great?: - no attached bathroom/toilet - No AC - No option to get the room cleaned while you are staying. - I requested they keep my suitcase (since checkout time is 11 AM and my train departure was at 6 PM) and I'll come collect it later in the day. I was told that's not an option either.

Taking into the consideration that this was a mix between hostel and a hotel and the price for the location is beyond amazing. Great for those who are on thr budget! The only thing is showers.... one of the showers had burning hot water no matter what.... but that's okay since there are still 2 more.... oh and a bit awkward to use the same bathroom with shared toilet and showers with men and women. Being a woman it toom me a few days to get used to being in the same room for such private purpose while men were in it at the same time 😫

This is basic accommodation in a spacious dorm room. You have a sink and fridge and a fan. No AC. There are stairs at the entrance. It was clean and quiet.

Very clean and quiet accommodations. Lots of hot water for the showers. The bed was very comfortable. In the heart of the city and close to restaurants. Everything you would need in a stay. If you’re not a princess you will appreciate this place.

Vamos por partes , en primer lugar entender que es una escuela que en temporada de vacaciones la utilizan para recaudar fondos rentándola como alojamiento ,así que sobra decir que es una instalación antigua que el piso rechina todo el tiempo y tiene una falta de mantenimiento enorme , cosa que no los justifica de brindar un servicio con los mínimos requeridos. La limpieza des habitaciones fatal , debajo de la cama jamás habían limpiado , la ropa de cama llena de polvo , porque evidentemente no tienen una alta ocupación de huéspedes y llevaban tiempo puesta esas sábanas y la habitación cerrada ( sufri una crisis alérgica horrible por la cantidad de polvo que habían en esas sábanas y la habitación ) , la puerta , al menos la de mi habitación apenas cerraba , de hecho si apagabas las luces venías toda la luz de fuera , además de que se sentía constantemente ruido si alguien caminaba pero bueno , eso era inevitable , pero si me sentía demasiado inseguro dejando mis cosas allí porque como tampoco había cámaras de seguridad en casi ningún lugar pues cualquiera empujaba la puerta y me podían vaciar la habitación , todo el tiempo tuve esa preocupación con mis documentos Los baños si puedo decir que estuvieron limpios la mayor parte de tiempo. Otra cosa , la página pone textualmente “ en este establecimiento podrá comunicarse en varios idiomas entre ellos inglés y español “ totalmente falso en ninguno de los días encontré a nadie personal del alojamiento que supiera español .

Worst stay of my life. The room smelled like a mix of mildew and burnt popcorn. The bed was harder than concrete, and the sheets had stains. The pictures online were a complete lie. Never coming back!. Absolutely disgusting. The bathroom looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years, the water barely ran, and there were bugs everywhere. Expedia needs to remove this listing immediately.If you value sleep, hygiene, or your money, avoid this place at all costs. The heater didn’t work, and the staff acted like they didn’t care. I want a full refund. False advertising. This is not a cozy student accommodation—it’s a nightmare. Never again.

Great downtown location. Impeccable service from staff at arrival. Easy check out. Spacious room with fridge and big windows. It was nice walking around the big old building. I would definitely go back!

I liked how affordable and clean it was. I disliked the check-in time. 4pm was quite late.

Bathrooms were not very clean. One of them flooded and it took over 12 hours for someone to clean it up. Rooms were clean and spacious. Walkable to most things. Staff friendly.

The staff was great, the location wonderful, and the room generally sound. My only real comllaint was that there was black mold growing on two of the walls in the room (not the ensuite bathroom)—and a fair bit of it. I was only staying the one night and only in the room for a total of maybe 8 hours, so no ill effects, but this should be addressed.

The residence is very clean and quiet; the staff is super friendly. It’s in a great location, just a five minute walk to the subway / metro station Guy-Concordia, from which you can travel across the city with ease. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location, friendly accommodating staff, clean shared bathrooms. Stayed over August long weekend and was fine without AC. Disappointed the bed was not an actual mattress, but a thick gymnastic mat/foamie. Even for a 138lbs woman, not very comfortable. Would have appreciated knowing this before booking.

The building is so unique, grand, room with a view of chapel spire. Long wide corridors, we got our steps in. Like having a fridge and access to toaster.

The price was good but the lack of A/C was brutal in the 40 degree weather. This was the biggest downside by far. Otherwise, the beds were comfortable and room was a good size. Luckily they provided fans as well.

This is a university student residence outside of the summer season, so don’t expect the Ritz or Four Seasons style rooms. The single bed was comfortable enough, the showers and toilets are shared, but everything locks and feels safe. One thing to note if you are there during a heat wave it will be hot in the room. There is no AC. I was in two nights, one night it rained and was fairly cool out and the room was fine. The other was a hot night, so the fan in the room really didn’t do enough to allow for a solid sleep. Bottom line for a solo traveler it is a good economical option to visit Montreal.

It is a great location at a reasonable price but it is an old building. No air conditioning but a BIG fan was provided which helped but was noisy. I would stay again but this is not like a hotel. That’s why the price is low.

Bed was a little too firm for my liking it overall it was a great stay! I definitely think it’s worth the price and wouldn’t hesitate to go back!

Rooms are a. Little out dated, sink in my room was pitted, no AC, mo TV, but tis was expected for a dorm room.

Front desk was "out" when we arrived from Montreal airport at 8:30pm. Had to wait in the hallway for 30 minutes. Night staff did not apologizes to us for the inconvenience. The walls were paper thin and could hear next door patron shifting in their squeaky mattress. Residence was across from a bar, so drunk young adults entering and leaving till 3am, yelling and laughing. Loud motorbikes and supercharged cars constantly on the street, and police cars with sirens on all the time. very squeaky hall floors so heard every footsteps from patrons using the shared bathroom and toilets. in the common room, someone made toast but blew a beaker. i told the front desk, but was told to use another common on another floor. the power was still not fixed the next day and had to go to another floor. Was awakened by a fire alarm at 1030pm, so we had to evacuate the building. 4 fire trucks came. lucky nothing serious and all was ok to go back after about 20 minutes. other front desk staff didnt seemed eager to see me everytime i had some questions. our room only had 1 coat hanger between me and my wife.the night stand lamp was missing a light bulb. On the other hand, the front desk manager was very responsive and helpful. l she got more coat hangers and a lightbulb. I injured my leg on a hike and she even brought down some crutches. of course, the price for a dorm like accommodation was reasonable, except for the above.

For the the location and price, it was excellent. Contrary to some negative reviews, everything worked great, was very clean and the staff is super friendly and helpful. I’ll be back

Our stay was quite good, the room was great for what we needed it for. We did have to checkout early and the staff were excellent at accommodating this request. We were helped by Megan and she was very helpful and made sure everything worked out for us. Overall, the stay was good for OSHEAGA and I would recommend it as somewhere central and close to the metro. One downside that they inform you of before you book is that there was no ac but the included fan in the room works great for cooling the room down at night.

Inexpensive college dorm rooms that are used as hotel-type housing while school is out for the summer. Good workspace area with good lighting for doing deskwork. Conveniently located within easy walking distance of Metro stop and many dining establishments.

Overall, as a young woman traveling alone, I felt safe at this property and would consider coming back. Pros: separate sink in the room, spacious, lots of storage space, great surrounding area (2 min walk from pharmaprix), helpful staff, good cleaning habits, easy to navigate, communal room (with a microwave, kettle, TV, couch), great security Cons: you have to drag your luggage up a flight of stairs when checking in/out, co-ed communal bathroom regarding toilet and showers, no AC but they do give you a large fan, thin walls (although luckily not unbearable)

Le quartier dans cette partie de Montréal n'est pas propre et le soir - me semble peu sécure. Ceci cependant ne dépend pas de votre établissement. Les prix sont intéressants. Le personnel très affable et aidant.. Avoir de l'eau en bouteille dans la distributrice. Merci à tous

Emplacement pratique sur la ligne de bus de l’aéroport. Concept d’une université avec petite cuisine de dépannage à disposition. Chambre très propre grande un petit réfrigérateur (Je viens d’y revenir car j’avais séjourné une dizaine de jours il y a plusieurs années) selon les voisins l’isolation est tjs et encore un plus grand problème
