Hotel and our room were clean albeit a bit tired and could do with a bit of TLC. We have a dog and this hotel is very dog friendly, ate an excellent meal in the bar in the evening and a nice breakfast in the dining room. Staff were excellent throughout, only downfall was the road up to the car park through an archway and then a very bendy narrow road upwards and the car park itself which could be challenging for some.

Good hotel in pleasant village. Staff friendly. Car park has just enough off street spaces but access from street through main arch is difficult for larger cars do to age of the building.

Stayed for 2 nights. Delighful hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Car park is a little tricky if you have a larger car but that was the only downside. Would definitely stay there again.

A historic and charming hotel with the most wonderful service. The waiters and reception gentlemen were all delightful and the food was superb. One snag is tricky entrance to the car parking, but done carefully I managed to get a pretty large vehicle in and there was plenty of room in the car park.

Outside areas not well kept ,whole area needs to be tidied up, benches need rubbing down and sealing. Leaves and other debris need to be removed. Rooom satisfactory but needs deep clean to removed dust and small areas of mold..Furniture new. Bed mattress very hard. No instructions in room , no fire safety notices. Staff enthusiastic, but perhaps management has never run a hotel. Overpriced but we had no options due to late booking.Area around hotel beautiful, hotel looks lovely on outside street view.

I stayed here all week and couldn't fault it, staff was welcoming the room was perfectly clean and cleaned when needed to be throughout my stay. The meals i ate here was also perfect. Parking was bit tight but managed fine after a couple attempts and if not parking was fine directly outside the hotel.

Amazing historical building in the Cotswolds (dating back to 16th century). Staff is kind and helpful. Was greeted warmly and shown to our rooms. The bar is quaint and welcoming. Restaurant is fine. Windows are an incredible example of time period. Hotel needs work. Paint is peeling, rooms need to be painted (chipped paint, nails left on walls from previous hangings, pictures hung in strange places (partly behind bed?). Collection of spider webs in various parts of the hotel (one pic included) All this, but we would stay again due to location & to see improvements. The views are amazing!

We stayed here for one night on our way to Devon. We had two rooms, each with a four-poster bed. Both rooms were spotlessly clean and spacious. Our welcome was warm and at all times courteous. The long corridor had lots of different levels which made it a bit unsafe, but that’s what to expect in an old, historic building like this. Over all the Crown offered really excellent value for money and if we were coming this way again the Crown is where we would choose to stay.

Great location and views - excellent food and service - a shame the bar did not have any local beers such as Hook Norton (only a few miles away). Chalet type room - basic (not a problem) the shower room was as big as the bedroom. There was a musty smell - leaving all windows open seemed to improve this. The carpet needs to be replaced - it appeared to have cement footprints on it.

I was on a business visit near to here. My room was a little type bungalow right at the top of site with one small one. It was absolutely terrible. The bed was really uncomfortable. No wardrobe to put my clothes in. No phone sgnal at all. No wifi signal at all to carryout mynwork on my laptop. The heating radiator was either really hot or if i turned the radiator down to 3 l, it was cold. If i turned off the radiator completely, when nextndoor turned on the hot tap, all the pipes banged really loud.Breakfast was served at 8am. This wasnfarntoo late for me because i had to be at my location for 8am. Usually, breakfast is served at 7am in most hotels i stay in. Carpark is ok but the drive through the tunnel and up the drive is very tight and the same on the way out. Towels aren't replaced on a daily basis. I was getting about 4/5 hours of sleep per night.

Room was small, and bathroom without shelving. The main problem with Room 2 was that any movement from the floor above was audible - creaking floor boards, speech, flushing loo, shower - so loud further sleep was impossible. A clear need for more sound proofing. Breakfast, incidentally, was excellent.

I thought the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was really big with even a separate lounge area. The full English breakfast was good and they added a vegetarian sausage as we we’re veggies. The location of the hotel is beautiful and really central to explore the village.

The staff at this hotel is wonderful. Always smiling and helpful. The chef cooks everything to perfection and menu has a nice selection. The Sunday Roast was delicious. The bartender knows how to make a cocktail! … something we’ve found lacking in British pubs. The front desk man is very nice and helpful, as is wait staff. Our room was clean and we enjoyed its convenience to the main hotel (we were in #6). We did miss having a refrigerator. Walking around the area of the hotel is absolutely gorgeous. Although there isn’t really much to do, we did find the Blockley Cafe which is also a restaurant serving delicious food. Just taking in the Cotswold scenery is enough though. We would highly recommend this hotel for a short stay or base while enjoying the Cotswolds.

A lovely but slightly tired (decor) hotel in beautiful Blockley, it was perfect for our needs. A special shout out to the amazing staff team who are 5 star. Every single one that we met was welcoming, friendly and very helpful. That’s rare and makes it well worth the trip. Would stay again.

Beautiful carved wood paneling and furniture in spacious room. Lovely quiet village in the Cotswolds. Especially welcome after our 10 mile walk from Bretforton.

The hotel is located in the village of Blockley, one of our favourite villages in the Cotswolds, as it is completely untouristy and truly charming. It is also very close to other villages, all easily reachable within 10–15 minutes by car. The hotel rooms are a bit dated, but the staff were extremely kind and even upgraded our room, giving us a very lovely and comfortable accommodation. Breakfast, ordered from the menu, was excellent. We really enjoyed our stay

A true Cotswolds village experience- quiet, scenic in a character building. As you would expect, the roads are narrow built in a different era- parking (which was readily available) and traversing the street is just part of the experience (:-))

The staff at this hotel is wonderful. Always smiling and helpful. The chef cooks everything to perfection and menu has a nice selection. The Sunday Roast was delicious. The bartender knows how to make a cocktail! … something we’ve found lacking in British pubs. The front desk man is very nice and helpful, as is wait staff. Our room was clean and we enjoyed its convenience to the main hotel (we were in #6). We did miss having a refrigerator. Walking around the area of the hotel is absolutely gorgeous. Although there isn’t really much to do, we did find the Blockley Cafe which is also a restaurant serving delicious food. Just taking in the Cotswold scenery is enough though. We would highly recommend this hotel for a short stay or base while enjoying the Cotswolds.

The hosts were very friendly and courteous. We were made to feel very welcome. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. We had a drink in the pleasant bar and an excellent meal in the restaurant. Very good quality ingredients and great service. Excellent chef. We will definitely return.

Great place to stay when visiting the Cotswolds. Perfect little village and the team at the crown are very welcoming and has a great atmosphere. The locals are very friendly. The food was lovely too I had the Sri lankian curry special which was delicious and my partner had the steak which was cooked perfectly.

We loved our triple room, gorgeous view from the window. The breakfast and the dinner we had in the restaurant was great, the bar was very quaint also. We missed the last bus from Moreton in Marsh, but a phone call to The Crown and they helped us out with a pick up

Arrived on curry night, which was delicious. Breakfast not great (Nescafé masquerading as filter coffee) under cooked bacon, over cooked egg. Staff are friendly and helpful. The whole place has something of the 1970s about it, the bed was not that comfortable and the headboard was not properly attached so that if you turn over in bed it bangs against the wall, giving the neighbours the impression that Ron Jeremy is on an all-nighter. Such a beautiful village. I’d say it’s good value, but could be so much better.

Welcoming Receptionist, a room in a separate building at the back of the carpark is quite with nice view . Handy carpark though not much room for a bigger car if one arrives after 5 p.m. B

It was ok. Staff was fine. The room could use a bit of updating. The biggest problem was lack of airflow. I wasn’t expecting air conditioning but there was no cross breeze at all and the room was very stuffy. The fan helped a bit but it was difficult to sleep. The days after we were there were even warmer so I’m not sure if it would be bearable.

We thought this hotel was in Morton in Marsh. We thought Blockly was the county. It wasn't. The hotel is located in Blockley which is a tiny hamlet with no other commercial establishment except a pub and coffee shop, located 8 miles from Morton with almost no public transportation, making it expensive to go anywhere.
