We both agreed that we would stay at the Comet again. Everything was great. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was large and had everything we needed. The bed was also queen size and was made every day. The area is quiet so conducive to sleep. The hotel restaurant and pub had first class food and beverages. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Please don’t book a suite at this hotel if you have multiple suitcases. They don’t have elevators to the suites. Lady at check in was unnecessarily cold - very poor service. More like a 2 star hotel.

It's truly amazing. Newly revamped with all the USB plugs you need. Modern Bathroom and clean room. Free parking with plenty of spaces just in front of the hotel. Will definitely come again.

This was a quick overnight stay. Location was great, although clearer explanation of parking would help. We were in the annex building and I was really impressed with the size of the rooms and bed. Very clean with excellent facilities.

We had a great stay! Amazing property and staff. Good facilities and super quiet. The room we stayed in was on the smaller side but fine for what we needed. Only things for us were that the TV in our room was an older tv which also struggled with signal and some channels kept cutting out, would be nice to have the option of smart tv to log into streaming services and the lighting in the room wasnt great - one small window high up and the lights were small/dim/awkward positioning in relation to mirrors for getting ready. Pillows werent great and could do with some extra in the room but we could have asked for more. There is no lift in the main building so something to note if this would be a struggle for your stay. Overall would stay again.

Got billed 3x for my stay. Took couple days to get cleared up. Not a lot of dining options nearby. Breakfast and foood options were good at the hotel restaurant. Nice rail trail nearby for walking or jogging. Rooms were nice size and clean.

The room was spacious and clean, the bed was extremely comfortable and you had everything you wanted in the room. The bottled water and biscuits were a nice touch and coffee and different tea varieties were well stocked each day. We would definitely book this hotel again the next time we are in the area.

Staff were all so friendly and helpful. Once again food was delicious in the evening and breakfast was truly first class with plenty of selection of hot and cold food. Room was clean and comfortable and bed was amazing

Our whole experience was terrible, there was an unexpected charge of £100 which I had to pay outside of my budget for the trip having travelled all the way from Belfast, we were then given a key that couldn’t open and after fixing the key issue, our room had stains everywhere and the carpet was dirty, I wouldn’t recommend Expedia and the false advertising of Comet Hotel to anyone. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had, the receptionist needs to be trained as she lied and said the £100 was a Deposit for damages while the manager said it was for any expense that might occur and go towards that Bill. YOU SPOILED OUR WEEKEND!

I stayed at this hotel just after it opened and it was pristine, friendly, and great all round. This stay left me amazed that the cleanliness and service were about the best I have seen in a very long time of business travel. The room looked new, and all the saff smiled and chatted. Food was oustanding, and overall great value for money. Do no overlook this gem!

We stayed here for 1 night whilst at a festival in Hatfield. The room was fine, it was clean and had a large bed with some nice toiletries, but the price did not reflect the product. £260 for a 1 night stay in Hatfield was ridiculous- definitely capitalising on the festival being there. My biggest issue for the overpriced stay was the quality of sleep. The hotel seems to almost be attached to student halls and the windows of our room didn’t really keep out any of the sound. I woke up at 3am to someone playing basket ball outside our room and then again at 4am and 5am as students arrived home and it sounded like they were stood outside our room in groups having conversations. For the price I’d of at least liked a good nights sleep.

It's fine and serves its purpose. No minifridge in the room, water pressure not great in the shower, feels a little bit done on the cheap in terms of build / decor. But it was a good, quiet room, no problems with checking in and out, convenient for Hertfordshire Sports Village. Not bad.

We stayed here for one night whilst visiting family. The staff were super helpful and friendly. The dinner was delicious and very reasonably priced. The bedrooms were comfortable with large comfy bed and lovely shower room. Breakfast was first class. We are seasoned travellers and it is possibly one of the best hotels we have stayed in for the price.

Our reservation along with 3 others that had booked through Expedia wasnt recognised. We were lucky they managed to source us a room but they did. It honour the price quoted. A worrying moment for many at midnight having attended a wedding.

This was a quick overnight stay. Location was great, although clearer explanation of parking would help. We were in the annex building and I was really impressed with the size of the rooms and bed. Very clean with excellent facilities.

A very comfortable stay in Hatfield , not a popular destination for most travellers, but was ideal for myself, partly for business collecting a car and partly pleasure, orienteering in the town . However it is conveniently placed if travelling by car literally next to the A1 (not close enough for any noise,) and also multiple bus links, plus opposite the popular Galleria shopping centre. A large modern bedroom, with a very comfortable bed, in the adjoing building . Facing student accommodation to the rear, which may have more noise if term-time as some reviews mention. The room facilities are ok with tea & coffee and adequate bathroom. The onsite restaurant may not be the cheapest but evening meals are very tasteful. (There is a nearby Wetherspoons too!) I would recommend this hotel , especially as not many alternatives in the immediate area, but very comfortable and reasonable price.

Not so good. Expensive bar prices with a discretionary 10% service charge that was more than 10%. Evening meal and drink for one cost more than room. Poor signal made tv unwatchable. Looked out on to car park. Room was hard to temperature control

Staff were all so friendly and helpful. Once again food was delicious in the evening and breakfast was truly first class with plenty of selection of hot and cold food. Room was clean and comfortable and bed was amazing

Super clean, very spacious, friendly desk and cleaning service. Great stay when visiting my son who attends Henry’s University. Dining there is convenient but waitstaff is not engaging. Food is okay.

We stayed here for one night whilst visiting family. The staff were super helpful and friendly. The dinner was delicious and very reasonably priced. The bedrooms were comfortable with large comfy bed and lovely shower room. Breakfast was first class. We are seasoned travellers and it is possibly one of the best hotels we have stayed in for the price.

All good but they need to invest in another toaster. 1 4 slice for all at breakfast was causing a queue and it was the slowest one I’ve ever come across!!

There’s student accommodation behind the back rooms of the hotel with an outdoor seating area. There was a lot of loud talking, shouting etc until 3am on the Friday night. Breakfast is £17.50. Went in for just a coffee and some toast expecting to pay for just that but was charged £17.50. This wasn’t pointed out beforehand. Other than that The Comet was much better than I’d expected.
