The first ocean view room was absurdly small. It genuinely felt like a closet. The bathroom was worn down, and the toilet brush looked like it hadn’t been replaced in years. Completely unacceptable. We asked to switch rooms since we were only staying one night and were moved to a larger, cleaner room, though it was still in clear need of renovation. Beach was underwhelming and just not nice (cigarettes in the sand etc), no staff, old pool area, everything just felt very off. Staff were helpful when asked but overall inattentive. Would not recommend.

The boutique resort is superb, the staff is super friendly and makes you feel welcome in every moment. The location is stunning and the rooms spotless. If you go for half board the 5 course menu is very good and versatile day to day. Service can sometimes be a bit on the slow side depending on which staff working but overall not any problems -Hakuna Matata

The room was a ‘love shack’ on the beach which was nice, stepped out straight onto the sand with nice sea views. Staff were friendly and it has a pool. The inside layout of the room is totally open (no door on the toilet just a half partition wall) so you’re in for an intimate stay! The rest of the hotel felt confused, there are surfing motifs as decorations, it’s for families (lots of kids) so it’s not quiet and romantic; the food was unfortunately the worst we had any hotel we stayed in Zanzibar. We also wished we stayed closed to Nungwi as we had to spend $10 each way on a taxi. It’s the one hotel we wouldn’t stay again sadly. Loads of potential I just think they need to figure out their ‘vibe’.
