Shower tray not deep enough or drain clogged as it over flowed and no wifi in my room to far from the router won’t be rushing back

Car park is small, but there is parking on the street so not a problem. Check in was quick and easy, but you do have to fill in a pre-booking breakfast form. Room was good, clean and well maintained, bathroom was small

No problems at all, quiet ish weekday night, though car park was full found a quiet table in adjoining pub for some reading and eating, no TV, lovely couple of pints and nice music

The rooms were comfortable and extremely clean. . There was adequate parking, the restaurant was excellent and the Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Absolutely stunning area to stay in, free fast Wi-Fi and bathroom was modern. We stayed in an economy room which had space around the bed and not much else. Walls are quite thin so if you enjoy eavesdropping like we do, this wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. Lady on the reception was super friendly and helpful and all the breakfast staff were amazing too.

The positives: the staff are friendly, efficient, and helpful, but not obtrusive. The room was nice, with no problems with the facilities. There are USB A and C sockets at the plug points. Everything just worked, so we had no need to ask for explanation. It has a pleasant village setting (NOTE - Hotels.com suggested this was IN Gainsborough - it isn't.) You can walk around the village, which has shops/cashpoint in the Co-Op shop/takeaways and pubs, and a really nice old parish church just a few steps away (it happened to be open for the weekend whilst we were there). Within easy drive of other places, but I don't think you could practically stay here if you are reliant on public transport. The room we stayed in is in the main building - this has obviously recently been refurbished (the room was good, but in the corridor: carpet and some fittings still need to be replaced/it smelled slightly of paint), but they'll probably be finished very shortly by the looks of it. Some of the guest rooms are in adjacent buildings, but only a few steps away across the car park. One minor niggle: the internet service seemed to be a bit underpowered for current hotel size and expectations - struggled on a zoom call with wifi (fortunately, this was personal, not business), and the TV buffered a bit with internet services. Whether this is so in all rooms, I cannot say. Personally, I prefer an ethernet access where I can get one, but I understand this may entail extra wiring. Would return

Nice room, a little noisy with extractor fans for kitchen etc. Quiet otherwise. Nice food available in the restaurant. Car park is small but parking available on the road

Everything about my stay was great, easy check-in just a simple signature. Friendly staff from check in to check out. Nice bar area and the restaurant food wise and service is just brilliant. I have stayed in a lot worse places for a lot more money, a real find

The room needs to be refurbished quite grubby and the bathroom smelt of bad drains the shower was mouldy and not a clean

Property and room ok staff quite friendly second night terrible smell coming from shower drains had to close down as smell was keeping me awake complained in morning about smell and asked staff member to come to room to witness it said she couldn't leave desk so spoilt second days visit

Room was clean but small, far too hot turned everything off but still like an oven. Was in the separate building and as you walked through the door smelt damp. Service in the morning was not good, rang the bell 4 times and when someone eventually came proceeded to keep serving others while I stood there. Ended up not having breakfast due to this and would not use this hotel again. Over priced for the experience and disappointing. Booked due to good reviews so hopefully an isolated experience.

Nice clean comfy room, well specced with nice decor, however I booked a room with bed and seperate sofa bed but the room I was given was not this. It just had 1 king size bed. The whole stay was let down by a dripping toilet in the bathroom which went on all night and kept me awake. Very annoying.

Our double room was ground level & small, the walls seemed paper thin as one could here the slightest noise from outside the door & the footsteps from the room above there were no shelves in bathroom to put toiletries out so it did feel a little cramped but we only stayed for 2 nights so no big deal the bed was really comfy & the room was very clean , we didn’t use any facilities as we were visiting family so ate & drank elsewhere

Stayed for one night. Very friendly staff. Room spotless, comfotable and well decorated. Huge bathroom with an excellant shower. Had dinner and cocktsils in the restaurant which was outstanding. Breakfast really good too. Will definately stay again if doing another multiple university visit

The hotel and restaurant are both really nice, as are the modern rooms. We had a standard double room on a Saturday night which was very reasonably priced at £70 (room only)..but the meals for both dinner and breakfast were not only really great but also very reasonably priced. The only snag was that our room had a very smelly bathroom (drains) which at times was over powering. I hope they get that sorted.

We have stayed here before so were expecting the same good service. Unfortunately we stayed in room 20 and it was no where near as good as the last room. It did haven't enough plug sockets and there wasn't one anywhere near the mirror to do your hair. There were marks on the wall which was obviously where it was going mouldy. There was no mat to wipe your feet on which therefore left dirty marks on the carpet which I was not happy to do. Having said that the hotel is in a good position and the restaurant is lovely as are the staff.

This is a mixed review as we had two rooms and they were viewed very different one good and one not so good, maybe it depends if you are in the main building.so main building very good value for the money, not main building, noisy, bed not good , shower very caravan like.

Noisey did not sleep well had a room above kitchen which was noisey which I can understand but 5am till 10pm at night is not great.

On approach to room wallpaper was coming off, then could see renovations taking place which we were not advised about prior to arrival or on arrival. Thankfully room was nothing like the corridors! Noisy radiator in early morning and woken up by kitchen staff in early hours. Had evening meal on the day of arrival and was disappointed. Birthday get away let down by poor service

Pleasent location in centre of nice village by the pond. There is an outdoor seating area but we didn't use it during our stay.

Booked as a Christmas catch up for friends. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Service was excellent from check in through to the bar and restaurant staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal and breakfast the next morning also could not be faulted. Hopefully we will be back next year.

Outstanding very friendly staff, superb restaurant and facilities very clean

We've stayed at this venue on a number of occasions very happily, however this time was different. The room we were given was in the annex on the ground floor, with a big bay window onto the main street. There were no privacy blinds and we had to keep the curtains drawn for the whole stay. The room was cramped and not appropriate for a two night two adult stay. The fact that there was one bedside table, one bottle of water etc suggested it was usually single occupancy. The tiny bathroom had a sliding door which when closed had a gap at either side meaning no privacy. Also, probably due to the door being directly next to the sink and open when the cleaners are working, it was covered in splashes and toothpaste stains when in the closed position. The room was cold with no working heating adjustment available. Stupidly I persuaded my husband not to ask for a change of rooms. When we checked out and discussed our concerns in relation to our next stay we were told that Laura the manager would ring us. A little later on Sherif, who stated that he was the manager, rang us. He was unapologetic and rude, interrupting and challenging our concerns rather than listening and addressing them. He stated that the room was worth more than we had paid for it through Hotels.com and basically that we had a cheek to complain when we had paid less than the going rate. We did not book another stay, which is a shame because the venue location is perfect for family visits.

It’s an okay place overall, but when the staff asked twice—once after we’d eaten and again when paying—if everything was okay with our meal, we mentioned that the Guinness tasted off and that the barrel likely needed changing or the pipes cleaning. We couldn’t drink the pint and left it almost untouched, so it was clear we weren’t trying to get a freebie. The only response we received was, “Okay, sorry to hear that.” I would have expected a replacement drink or a refund given that it was undrinkable. We also overheard another table saying their breakfast wasn’t good, and again they only received an apology with no offer of an alternative or partial refund. It makes me question the point of asking for feedback if nothing is done with it.

Staff at hotel most pleasant & friendly that help make the stay enjoyable. The hotel is clean and rooms are spacious. The food is lovely and freshly cooked. If anything you need just ask and the staff will accommodate if they can. 1 of the best hotels I have stayed in that this was my 2nd stay. A nice quiet location not far by car to main towns.

Superb hotel, very comfortable clean rooms. Excellent food, the garlic/pepper prawns were wonderful. Good choice of beer and wine. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.

Lovely clean and comfortable bedroom. Big bathroom with lovely fluffy white towels. Food was excellent in the resturant, but the fish and chips was exceptional on friday night. This was our second visit, but im sure we will be back.
