This is a typical small town roadside motel, nicer and cleaner than most. We’ve been on a long road trip and we’re just so sick of the brand chains, we thought we’d try something different. It’s fine. We had a clean, large room, decorated in Northwoods kitsch. We upgraded to a River View room to cut down on road noise. True - the room is right on the river, but those rooms just sit perpendicular to the building along the road, sort of joined at the corner, so while you are on the river, you also have a perfect view of the highway over the bridge 50 yards away. Unless sitting on the deck watching the river is important, it’s probably not worth the upgrade. The highway seems to calm down at night anyway.

We had a lovely stay at the Riverside. It was clean, comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed the deck overlooking the river. If we were staying longer, we would definitely have asked for one of the rooms with a river view. Next time we are in Hayward, we will certainly choose the Riverside.

Great little get away spot!! Bring your fishing stuff even a little pier to fish at. Grabbed Coop's pizza for dinner and brought back to our room. Hayward Family Cafe for brwakfast across the street. Don't sleep on this place

The Riverside Motel is a quaint little hotel. Our room was a very nice size. It was clean and well decorated and looked out at the river. There were lots of places for guests to sit outside and enjoy the lake. It even had a little dock if you wanted to wet your line. A great breakfast/lunch restaurant is right across the street and downtown Hayward is just minutes away. We would highly recommend the Riverside Motel for your Hayward stay.

A very beautiful property right on the river! We had a king size room that was very spacious and clean. The best part of the property was the staff. They were extremely friendly. We were able to have a bag of ice and fire wood outside for a fire pit at night. Great people. We will be back.

Nice location. The room had a strong chemical smell that took a long time to clear out. The patio door was difcicult to open and the screen was ready to fall out. Cost was too high. There are better options in the area.

WE went to shower in morning. No water from shower head. In checking with manager we should have adjusted the shower head to get it to work. To our surprise, we've never had to maintain a shower at a hotel. Needless to say we were ready to leave by the time he informed us of needing to adjust the shower head. I would think that cleaning people would MAKE SURE after cleaning that it's in working order. Their picture shows lake front rooms. That's not one that we had. We were facing a busy hiway. Poor advertising with a display picture of lake. Should make sure people are informed there's no lake view for some rooms.

This is a vintage motel, very well maintained and delightful to stay in. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the recently renovated bathroom was perfect. While some may feel the TV is a bit small it was fine for us. There was no sound leakage from adjoining rooms, either!

I liked that we were able to have a river view, and the room was nice and comfortable. I didn't like that we had to sign a form agreeing to pay a fee for ruining towels with makeup. Most motels have make-up wipes or dark special wahcloths for make-up, easy cheap fix for owner.

My only complaint is with the booking. I booked a double queen bed room, only to find upon arrival that we were given a single queen with a couch fold out bed. I don’t know if it was Expedia’s fault or the hotel, but please be careful when booking your own room and call to confirm you get what you paid for. Other than that mishap, the hotel was very nice! Clean and accessible!

Room was awesome! Very, very nice rustic rooms. Andrea was the friendliest desk clerk I can remember having and we travel a lot. They have a beautiful welcoming cat, he is so nice. We would never stay anywhere else from now on when we come to Hayward.

It was clean & attractive, very comfortable beds, friendly staff. Across the road from a family restaurant, with very good food. Only negative thing was not being informed at check in, where designated smoking area was. I smoke, so would like to abide by property owners rules as to where. to go.
