We stayed just before the start of the summer MTB season. It was wonderfully not crowded, the accommodation was as described and spacious and the amenities (pool, mini cinema, onsite parking) were great. A short drive from the mountain to some great lakeside beaches and close to restaurants and hikes.

Love coming to Northstar! The facility is beautiful! The rooms are great. The communication is easy too. Of course we come during off season, so the downside is a lot of the shops and restaurants can be closed. Some of the pool areas were also closed. Truckee is so close though you have options there. Plus this hotels has activities that you can sign up for some are free and some you pay. I liked the theater option! The scenery around is just beautiful!

The location is nice - close to grocery and restaurants. Some of the rooms could use some updates and some detailed cleaning. One of our sinks did not drain properly, a shower head needed replacement and some cobwebs in the corners of rooms. Otherwise beds were comfy, kitchen was nice and had the basics available.

Quiet in summertime..next time we will ask for a room in the back to avoid pool noise however. Good restaurants in area (a few)- amazed that people left trash near the pool area- and wasn't picked up in the morning.

Spacious and well equipped 3 bed, 3 bath. Loved the cozy fireplace both inside and on the patio. Tv was difficult to operate and without instructions. Kitchen was nicely equipped. Grounds were in some disrepair and hot tub we were directed to was very dirty and full of debris. Main pool hot tub was great though. Love the convenience of the village.

The room was clean, but the bed was horribly uncomfortable. I might as well have been sleeping on a wood plank. In addition, the hot water lasted a while 2 minutes in the shower. When I asked the front desk in the morning at check out, they said “oh yeah, this building is like that”. I don’t see how that’s allowed? When we got there, there was no one at the desk and we had to wait about 5 mins until someone showed up, who was new and couldn’t access all of the correct systems to check us in.

Gorgeous land and buildings. Amazing room. A door on the master bath cabinet in our room had broken hinges and it looked like it had been that way for a while and not repaired. The shower felt a little awkward with no good place to hang your towel while you shower so you could easily get it when you're done. One of the drawers in the master bedroom would not stay closed and would slide open slightly by itself. Overall, an incredible place to stay.

Great offseason pricing for what was billed as a luxury studio apartment. In actuality it was a bare bones uncomfortable, loud room where I could hear other guests next door (plates clanking in the morning) and upstairs (suitcases rolling on the floor). The concierge, Patti, called the day prior promising a great stay and tried roping me into a 90 minute timeshare presentation- if you don't attend checkout is 10AM. No other hotel on our 10 day, thiusand mile journey across California did this...I mentioned to the concierge that this was my Wife and I's Honeymoon, expecting some kind of upgrade, anything- other hotels upgraded the room, left a nice note or gave champagne- We received nothing and after I declined the timeshare I received no further correspondence from the concierge. We will not be returning to this or any other Hyatt Vacation Club location- this was the worst hotel experience I've ever had, and I've stayed at a Motel that reeked of cigarettes and mold.

The hotel and the grounds were nice great location. The room needed a few things to be fixed, the soaking tub did not hold water, bathroom door did not have a working lock, TV and DVD player in the living room did not function so evenings were spent piled up in one of the bedrooms to watch a movie.

Kat our check in agent was amazing. We had a late check in but. She was so sweet about it and what can on me really do if your room isn’t ready. So we went to eat and by the time we were done our room was ready. Again thank you Kat you were amazing. Room was very clean! And anything we requested was accommodated by staff asap. We even requested robes and slippers. Within ten minutes they had arrived. Was a great experience for my family..thank you to all staff and we will be having many more family vacations here.

This property is Beautiful and the room was very nice. However, I am disabled and using a Walker now. I requested a room for disabled and the walk to the room was Horrific for me. We were on the 3rd floor and were Not told about underground parking. I had to walk So Far then to The Very last room at the end of the Hall. The room temp was 76* and we called the front desk for help. We were told that an engineer had to set our thermostat properly, and if we couldn’t wait, they would fix it in the morning. We waited, the “engineer” came to our room and set it to 68*. This Hotel Néeds to take care of Simple requests without arguing or threatening that if we leave, our room temp will continue to climb until the morning, when the “engineer” could set our Thermostat. We found out that a person was to accompany us to the room and show us how to set the complex thermostat and other feature’s. Bad Service, zero attention to my current status of disability. Rude front desk staff. We later found out that the parking garage, that is Not marked clearly, would have saved me any extremely painfully very long walk to our room. An extremely early checkout time of 10am!!?

Over all the staff and property are great. I didn’t get my free wine per Expedia’s VIP access benefit. I actually asked for it that night we arrived since all restaurants were already closed and was too tired to drive to the nearest store to pick up one, but they said they had no wine and will give the free bottle to me upon check out, but they didn’t give it as promised.

We love staying here however the supervisor was very rude. They did not give us the room that we had selected from Hotels.com and when we went to let them know, they made every excuse in the book and did not really try to help us. Another person that was working there Diego he ended up helping us and was very kind. We were shocked that Juana is a supervisor. She’s extremely rude and not customer friendly.

This place was fantastic. The beds were surprisingly comfortable and the lacation was great, about half way between Truckee and Kings Beach. Lake Donnor is also about 25 mins away and less crowded than Lake Tahoe.

We loved our stay at the Hyatt Northstar! The property feels tucked away from the “chaos” of Kings Beach, giving you a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, but it’s still close enough to everything that access isn’t a hassle. We were pleasantly surprised with a fantastic room upgrade—huge bonus points for that! The unit was spacious, well-appointed, and perfect for unwinding after a day out. That said, the only downside was the lighting: only certain parts of the unit had working lights, which was a bit frustrating at night. Despite that, the overall experience was great, and this is definitely a place that makes us want to return. If you’re looking for a more serene Tahoe experience without sacrificing convenience, this is the spot.

The staff there are all really nice and helpful. We only stayed one night but we made the best of it♡ we got in the pool then in the jacuzzi. Walked around the shops and had breakfast at a little market place. It was very nice! Well go back for sure!

Very convenient. Free parking, coffeeshops and dining are very accessble, you can just walk in the village or drive 30mins in truckee downtown. Friendly staff too. This is my second time here and will come back for more

It was disappointing that most of the stores and restaurants weren’t open. We were there Monday-Thursday. When we asked staff, they mentioned about it being off season and catering to the mountain biking. Regardless, they should have been open. Perhaps better marketing for people to come there in the summertime. Also, the pool area appeared to have a wasp problem. My husband got the net to clean the pool, while the towel guy sat there. A child got stung. Please consider spraying. Thanks!

Staff was very kind. They responded immediately when we were locked out of our room. Wish there was more dining options. But it is the off season. Market was within walking distance. Would love to go during the winter season but the prices are too high. We will definitely stay there again.

Overall a really great property. We stayed three nights. It was a good spacious room but right next to the Gondola so it was noisy while it was in operation. Also, I hadn’t realized that they do not clean the rooms each night. Our room was not cleaned or refreshed for the 3 nights we were there. As a family of 5 I would have liked a refresh and some new towels. The room itself was fantastic. Very spacious with full kitchen and washer/dryer. Northstar itself is great. We loved mountain biking and the little village is nice with a good coffee shop called CoffeeBar. Service at the Hyatt was very basic. There are no restaurants on site and dining around the immediate area is limited (unless you want to dine at the Ritz close by). We had a fantastic stay. I wouod have given it 5 stara for our overall experience, but as a mom on vacation I would have loved to come back each day to a refreshed room.
