Best Western Plus Banff International Lodge

Typical Best Western hotel. Rooms are a bit dated and the hotel is noisy but the service is consistent. Breakfast was standard continental fare. Underground parking is limited.

Good size rooms with safe and coffee machine. Free coffee and water refill in the lobby. Plenty of towels. Air conditioning a bit random. About 15 mins walk to main st. Underground parking but a problem with a big suv like ours which we luckily could park outside the hotel but only room for 3/4 large vehicles so first come first served.

Room was clean, breakfast was decent for being free. However, the one downside is the pool and hot tub are wayy too small.

Service was prompt a quick. Pool and hot tub was nice.

Stayed for 2 nights on a road trip from Banff to Spokane. Lots of restaurants near, very clean and comfortable hotel. Great pool if you have young children and a nice, low key restaurant on site. Would recommend.

Not the properties fault, but being woken at 5 am to a knock on the door then woken kids, sucked, but I can say when I called the front desk, they were amazing, kept me on the phone and figured out the issue. No safety issue at all, just kids... all staff was so kind! The parking was horrible. Crammed, tight, hard to get in and out. It was extremely clean, the rooms were very nice and we could walk the shops easily.

Lobby and room were clean,and well presented. Staff friendly. Breakfast- eggs were a little over done, bacon was really over done,. Next step would have been burnt. Now the parking, oh my i was afraid to walk down without my husband. It was old,dark and parking is really tight. Hard to turn our vehicle around too. Really needs a face lift. Great loaction to downtown Banff. Took us 15 - 20 minutes to walk to all the great shopping. 15 minutes to the Banff Gondola. Other than the parking we had a great time.

Our room had sheets that had holes in them , a spider in the shower and a beetle on the bed. There was construction right outside our room so blinds had to be drawn the entire day for privacy as men were driving right by on machines that looked into our ground level room . The toilet ran water all night and the thermostat continually blinked a bright flashing light all night , lighting up the room. The bed was uncomfortable. There was also a dog in the room next to us that barked most of the evening . The staff were very friendly , the location was good, but I don’t feel this was worth the money we paid for it overall .

The facility was dated. It is misleading about parking, as they only have about 40 underground spots for a lodge for I’d say 100 rooms. We had to park 4 blocks away and move vehicle by 8am or risk a ticket. The room itself was the “discount” room I was told, due to it being an online order. The shower ceiling was moldy on several spots. Received a small discount but the lodge was full and we couldn’t switch rooms. Not worth over $400 CAD.

Facility was clean. Staff was friendly. Location was very convenient. Breakfast was good thought the dining hall had very limited space.

Spotless and staff was excellent even when we mistakenly marked our room not to be cleaned they provided us with clean towels later.

Cleanliness

Everything from the staff to the sparkling room and delicious breakfast was perfect!

I was originally giving a ground floor room. As a solo female traveler, a ground floor room with a patio door facing the parking lot it is not safe. The shower was not properly cleaned as it had hair on the shower walls.

During checkin the stuff was rude to me while she apologized for the other customers and even gave them water bottle she was extremely cold towards me. There was a spiderweb in the room and the carpet was not clean, we found lots of dirt in the swimming pool and we decided not to use it.

I don’t plan to stay in this hotel again. It wasn’t terrible, but considering I paid more than other hotels in the area, I would have expected a better experience. The property seems dated, but you’d expect it to be since this hotel has been there for decades. We got the suite that had a jacuzzi in the room, which I thought would be on the top floor, but it was right on the bottom floor with people walking by the windows and right beside the parking entrance, so you’d hear loud people and loud cars late into the night. The television setup is using an Android media player that frequently had issues, so trying to watch regular television was pretty frustrating because the image would stutter or the signal would freeze after a few minutes of watching, so don’t plan on watching TV here. On the good side— the complimentary breakfast is good, it’s a full breakfast, which is so rare these days.

Staff was great. Tv in room is huge. Breakfast was hot and fresh. Beds were comfortable. Underground parade is clean.

I liked the convenient underground parking, proximity to the main street and view from the balcony of the mountains. I wish the bed had been more comfortable. The mattress was quite firm which affected my sleep. Everything else with the room was excellent.

We had a great stay overall! The hotel is in a very convenient location—everything was walkable, from breakfast and dinner spots to local shops and even a convenience store. It felt completely safe walking around, even in the evenings, and the area had some fantastic coffee options just steps away. The hotel is also pet-friendly, which was a huge bonus for us. Our furry companion was just as welcomed as we were. The staff was absolutely incredible—genuinely kind, helpful, and always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. They truly made the experience better. The room itself was spacious and clean, with plenty of towels provided and a good setup. We stayed on the second floor and loved the little patio area outside where we could sit and enjoy the sunset. The air-conditioning worked well, which was a must for comfort. That said, there were a couple of comfort issues. The beds were a bit hard, and after a few nights, it did start to affect our sleep. The biggest surprise, though, was the pillowcases—they felt oddly paper-like. As we moved during the night, the sound and texture were distracting, and I really wish I had brought my own pillow for that reason. It’s a small detail, but one that had a noticeable impact on sleep quality. All in all, I would still recommend this hotel, especially for its location, pet-friendliness, and amazing staff. Just maybe bring your own pillow if you're a light sleeper!

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly, them breakfast was very good (lots of different options, eggs, toast, potatoes, oatmeal etc.) it was all great. The rooms had very nice big TVs and was super comfortable and very clean. It was a great hotel over all, it's a short walk into the main street downtown for restaurants - highly recommend.

Rooms are small. Hotel is extremely old. Swimming pool is tiny. Views are ugly on both sides. breakfast is cheap, dehydrated and microwaved garbage. Not a picky travellor but this hotel was bad in the very way possible.

Rooms are not sound proof. can heared sounds walking on the corridor and people on the other room.

The staff was incredibly helpful, and the location was perfect – walking distance to restaurants, bars, and shops. I'll definitely be back!

STAFF VERY RUDE

Staff was excellent.

Not the best front desk attitude during the stay. Not very engaging. Hallways are barrow and hard to move through with cleaning carts on either side of the hall. Lobby not very functional and smaller then pictured.

They gave me wrong small room then i have to fight with them to change my room

I requested a crib ahead of time and never received one or was even contacted about it. Other than that, it was a fine experience.

Front staff are friendly and provide excellent service. Breakfast was included and was very good. Hint; use the coffee machine in the lobby - a shot of espresso and then add a cappuccino for the perfect coffee!

Perfect location, right in the heart of Banff and close to everything that’s going on.

Great location in the Heart of Restaurants Shopping & Transit

It was in a convenient location, easy access around town.

Great location if you want to just walk to Banff downtown shops, restaurants and attractions. Breakfast being included was a plus for a family as it saved time and money while starting the day on phenomenal daily outings to gondola ride, world class lakes, breathtaking hikes, and tours. Entire hotel staff was quite cordial. Young women at the front desk was quite helpful in helping us navigate the area, recommend best ways and times to explore attractions. Room and hotel was quite clean and well maintained. Would certainly recommend.

Great location, easy walk along Banff Ave into the heart of the village. Set back a bit so very quiet, we even saw an Elk one evening coming back to the hotel! It's an expensive option, however the room we had was large and well furnished for our short stay, we also booked quite late so there may be cheaper options available. Breakfast was basic, but welcome and the parking was fine (med size car). TV with streaming was good. We loved staying in Banff.

We arrived early but the room was ready! All the staff were so friendly and helpful. And the location is walkable to downtown Banff. So convenient.

Clean facility, close to the main strip without being noisy, continental breakfast had a lot of option.

The room was noce and clean and roomy. The only negative is the breakfast. We have been to many hotels that include breakfast and this was the worst. I heard grumblings from other tables around us about the low quality. 1.The space is way too small for the amount of guests. 2. The food offerings are below what other places offer. At least add bagels! The bread for toasting is not good. 3. The coffee is terrible. I don't expect gourmet, but at least not bad tasting. A little more money spent on the breakfast experience would go a long way to making guests happy.
