Vi havde et rigtig dejligt ophold, virkelig gode forhold på hotellet, morgenmad buffeten var fantastisk. Det eneste lille problem var ved poolen - gæsten går op til poolen med udendørs fodtøj, hvilket er uhygiejnisk. Poolen er inden opsyn og ikke alle nationaliteter tager samme hensyn.

Virkelig flot hotel med lækkert værelse og en imponerende morgenmadsbuffet, som er åben til 11:30. Desværre var der stort set ingen mad tilbage kl. 10, og den smule der var tilbage var koldt. Køen til omelet- og spejlæg- stationen var lang. Ok spa, men dampbadet var dårlig. Dels skulle man trykke på aktivering af damp-funktion hvert 2. Minut og dels sad knappen udenfor rummet, så man skulle ud hver gang. Vi fik en seddel på værelset om, at der var et privat arrangement, som larmede og varede til kl. 3 om natten. De tilbød omplacering til andet værelse eller ørepropper. Vi boede på 6. sal og kunne godt høre larmen fra festlighederne. Det havde været rart, hvis hotellet havde informeret om det ved booking, da man netop tager væk for at få fred og ro, og så havde vi valgt et andet hotel.

Well, I felt like it was just another hotel pretending to be a 5 star hotel . The big no no was the swimming pool, where a light was broken and hanging in the electric cord (under the water in this pool). I have seen so many movies where electricity and water was a bad combination, I stayed out of the water (And the I'm pretty sure it was still safe...) Sauna....well should be hot, was more like Italien summer, not hot and to top it of, a plant that had fallen to the floor and lay there.... for I don't know how long. It can also annoy me a little that in a 5 star hotel, you have to use a coffee machine at breakfast and no personal service. The breakfast was fine, the staff were polite and everything was nice and clean. In similar hotels, it is quite normal to be served coffee or an expresso at the table.The jury is still out on whether I will come again, some things speak for it, but there are just so many other exciting hotels in Berlin in that price segment. Especially the experience with the pool and the wellness area was very disappointing that it could even be done with such defects not being discovered and fixed. My inner director would probably have scolded the person in charge of the area, but then again I'm only a guest and sometimes I just want to relax.

Very helpful staff, we enjoyed the pool, the easy parking at a decent price, rooms were spacious and clean with a great view! We didn't try the breakfast, a bit pricey, but the Baking Company has a nice spot in the hotel with lovely staff.

Nice hotel and very pleasant staff, comfy bed, great a/c. Just two minor gripes: room service and steak restaurant closed at 10pm (I arrived at 10 past) and bottom of shower curtain had black mould. Oh, I should mention, no minibar!

The staff are great and the facilities are mostly very clean. There was very limited choice for food at the bar and room service, in contrast I would rate the breakfast very highly. The room was ok but no mini bar contents despite there being a menu and I paid €100 deposit. A small improvement to these elements would have warranted 5 stars.

Sehr gute Lage am Kulturforum, sehr gute Ausstattung, freundliches Personal, Betten bereits etwas durchgelegen, super Frühstück, ruhig. Nachts sind due Zimmer nach vorne zu hell durch eigene Strahler des Hotels. Könnten nachts auch aus Energiespargründen abgeschaltet werden. Sauna war während unseres Aufenthalts nicht angestellt. Schöner Pool war nutzbar.

This is a huge hotel. Very nice. However I wish at the time of booking I was made aware of 1) the spa and wellbeing centre being closed for refurbishment and 2) two large events taking place which meant noisy guests outside and in the early hours an articulated lorry loading up all the kit which meant for a bad nights sleep. The hotel is within walking distance to Potsdamer Platz and the Wintergarten theatre

The property is very nice, but appears to show its age. Lots of stuff need to be updated. Our room, particularly, was drab and in need of a refresh. There was mold on the ceilings and the shower was leaking.However, the staff were very nice.

Quiet room, with a spacious bathroom. Underfloor heating in the bathroom was fantastic as we stayed during a very cold, snowy long weekend. Very easy walking to restaurants, cafes, sightseeing. The bar is a lovely place for a sophisticated but relaxing cocktail session. The decor is a little dated but the room was spotlessly clean. The main criticism was that we stayed during a busy conference, and the mess and stench of food delivery rubbish remained in the hallways for very extended periods of time.

The staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our room. The towels were oversized and comfy. Our room was cleaned each day which was nice! We made sure to tip the staff. The hotel was beautiful!

We were there for an engagement/birthday for 2 nights to attend shows in Berlin. The Good: The staff was friendly. The night shift supervisor was very friendly and helpful, making efforts to compensate us with upgrades and small gestures that tasted great. The Bad: The lock was broken in the first room. The call to reception didn't work in the newly renovated upgrade room. The tiles were beautiful but cold. The "King Size" bed had 2 (unevenly worn) mattresses instead of one large one - very uncomfortable. The TV consistently emitted a low electrical hum/whine; if we hadn't been so tired coming to the hotel every evening, it would have driven me crazy during the already uncomfortable sleep. The "Up" button on the remote didn't work properly. When the coffee capsules in the room were refilled, they only used decaf and "intense" instead of regular espresso. One of the new "clean" cups was completely stuck with old sugar lumps inside. Very disgusting. Room 1 had a file in the cosmetic consumption cup, while Room 2 did not. The shower hose was leaking. Only one bathrobe in the double room. Half of the pool lockers were broken. There were no more pool towels; instead, used ones were piled up to the ceiling. Addressed as "Frau"(Mrs.) in email correspondence? 5-star hotel?

Ich habe in diesem Hotel eine Woche verbracht. Nach dem Check-In habe ich festgestellt, dass der Wasserhahn sehr schwerfällig war und habe das beim Check-In Feedback vermerkt. Am nächsten Tag, war der Wasserhahn repariert/ausgetauscht *WOW!* Ab dem dritten Tag hat das Austauschen der Badetücher an drei aufeinanderfolgende Tage nicht funktioniert die "schmutzigen" Handtücher wurden mitgenommen jedoch keine frischen hingelegt. Ich habe zwar nach Meldung an der Reception die fehlenden Handtücher jeweils zeitnah erhalten aber das ist nicht der erwartete Service. Einmal kann das ja mal passieren. Zweimal hintereinander ist im besten Fall ein sehr unglücklicher Umstand. Aber dreimal in Folge ist ein Führungsproblem oder pure Ignoranz. Als ich mit dem Entschuldigen Sie bitte nicht mehr zu frieden war am dritten Tag, hat man mir ein Frühstück angeboten obschon wir ohne Frühstück gebucht haben und auch nie eines konsumiert haben. Alternative war das Angebot einer Flasche Wein auf dem Zimmer abends um 23:00. Damit war die Kreativität dann auch schon zu Ende. Auf der Zimmerabrechnung wäre eine Konsumation gewesen die man hätte erlassen können oder man hätte eine Gutschrift auf der hinterlegten Kreditkarte machen können im Falle einer Nachbelastung ist man ja dazu auch fähig. Der Aufforderung Kontakt durch das Management aufzunehmen hat man entsprochen. Meiner Meinung nach mit einem Standardtext der nicht konkrete Reue zeigte. Das war mein letzter Besuch in dieser Lokation.

We were very happy at your hotel. Breakfast delicious, many choices. The only thing that I missed in the bathroom was a vanity mirror that I could use for makeup and I think it is a little unsafe to go out the bathtube for elder people, because you can slide. But all the rest was marvelous. Staff very friendly! Thank you very much

Nice big clean rooms. BUT The worst mattress on any bed I’ve slept in. By the time I realised we had already settled in. But I didn’t get any good sleep. Definitely not JW Marriott. More like an old caravan. Very disappointed. Overall more like an old Marriott. Not a JW.

My review covers the two rooms I booked in the names of Gary Napier and Klaus Nehyba. The initial check in went well, no problems. One room's refrigerator and the other room's safe were not working and both took two full days to be rectified, despite our requests in the morning and evening to chase up the repairs. No matter who we spoke to we could not order room service meals. One staff member told us to use the Marriott home page on the TV but it did not display any menu options at all for room service, nor any ordering information. We spoke to staff in the bar and were told to order from the Steakhouse menu and to phone 1152. We did, and reception answered stating that we could not order from that menu. So we asked him for some menu options but he did not know any specifics apart from "soup", without the type and "salad" again without the type and "club sandwich".

The original room I booked clearly hadn't been updated in decades and was stained and looked unclean. I couldn't have stayed in that room for the near week I booked. I must give major credit to the staff for making it right, though, as they moved me to the newly renovated 6th floor and were mostly very kind about it. If you have the money, book an "Executive" room to ensure you don't end up in the kind of room I was in at first. If I stay at the property again I will be booking that even though it is more expensive to an unfair degree given the dissonance in rooms that felt like two totally different hotels. Would be great if the property could be more fully updated on every floor and stained carpeting and fixtures removed so no one has to settle for that kind of unacceptable room, regardless of the price point.

In desperate need of renovation! The first room that I was assigned had a bad odor. The front desk did everything possible and assigned me another room with no odor and clearly an upgrade which was very appreciated. However, the furniture had clearly seen better days. Overall, the staff was pleasant and helpful. Have low expectations on the accommodations or stay at the Berlin Marriott instead. In terms of location, there is nothing surrounding the hotel. If it’s cold, snowy or rainy, you need to take a taxi or UBER. The 15 minute walk to Potsdamer Platz is quite poor if the weather isn’t nice. I wouldn’t stay there again.

Nice big clean rooms. BUT The worst mattress on any bed I’ve slept in. By the time I realised we had already settled in. But I didn’t get any good sleep. Definitely not JW Marriott. More like an old caravan. Very disappointed. Overall more like an old Marriott. Not a JW.

The JW in Berlin was elegant, relaxed, and perfect for our stay. The room was spacious and impeccable. The breakfast was probably the best we’ve ever had in a hotel. The pool and gym were fabulous. The location, on a quiet street lined with embassies, is great, top: A stone’s throw away from the Philharmonic, the gorgeous Gemäldegalerie and right next to the park. Thank you to the staff for making us feel so welcome and so happy in Berlin!

Ich habe in diesem Hotel eine Woche verbracht. Nach dem Check-In habe ich festgestellt, dass der Wasserhahn sehr schwerfällig war und habe das beim Check-In Feedback vermerkt. Am nächsten Tag, war der Wasserhahn repariert/ausgetauscht *WOW!* Ab dem dritten Tag hat das Austauschen der Badetücher an drei aufeinanderfolgende Tage nicht funktioniert die "schmutzigen" Handtücher wurden mitgenommen jedoch keine frischen hingelegt. Ich habe zwar nach Meldung an der Reception die fehlenden Handtücher jeweils zeitnah erhalten aber das ist nicht der erwartete Service. Einmal kann das ja mal passieren. Zweimal hintereinander ist im besten Fall ein sehr unglücklicher Umstand. Aber dreimal in Folge ist ein Führungsproblem oder pure Ignoranz. Als ich mit dem Entschuldigen Sie bitte nicht mehr zu frieden war am dritten Tag, hat man mir ein Frühstück angeboten obschon wir ohne Frühstück gebucht haben und auch nie eines konsumiert haben. Alternative war das Angebot einer Flasche Wein auf dem Zimmer abends um 23:00. Damit war die Kreativität dann auch schon zu Ende. Auf der Zimmerabrechnung wäre eine Konsumation gewesen die man hätte erlassen können oder man hätte eine Gutschrift auf der hinterlegten Kreditkarte machen können im Falle einer Nachbelastung ist man ja dazu auch fähig. Der Aufforderung Kontakt durch das Management aufzunehmen hat man entsprochen. Meiner Meinung nach mit einem Standardtext der nicht konkrete Reue zeigte. Das war mein letzter Besuch in dieser Lokation.

My check in was WONDERFUL! I’m celebrating my birthday here in Berlin and couldn’t have had a better check in experience. I felt so welcome, ALL 3 staff members somehow knew me immediately and had been expecting my arrival! They sang me happy birthday and were so excited I almost cried! My room had a delicious chocolate cake and lovely note, I couldn’t recommend a hotel more. I had just arrived after 14 hours of flights, they truly made me so unbelievably happy!

The breakfast was not satisfying. Techinical problems in the breakfast room. No omelett chef available, i should take the eggs from the table, but unfortunately also there was no egg available. I ordered scrambled eggs from the waiter. i waited 15 minutes to get them, unbelievable, when it came it was nearly cold. this should not happen in a 5 star hotel next bad fact are the key cards, i had to use to different cards in the hotel

European don't do breakfast like in North America. The buffet is not as good as a buffet at 4 star hotel in North America. Their were only beacon and sausage no ham. They didn't have waffles or eggs Benedict. They did have lots of breads and fruit and cheese. It just wasn't worth 42 Euros unless it had more meat choice maybe crepes and waffles and eggs Benedict.

It’s right in town and surrounded by restaurants and shops. Our problem is that the restaurant closes at 3:00pm and stays closed until next day. We get back from our sightseeing and shopping about that time and can just get a drink or bit to eat. For us having a functioning restaurant through our month long trip has been the saving grace and only pick hotels with a restaurant and bar! So this has been extremely disappointing! It should have been specified on the hotel as well as EXPEDIA!

Excellent hotel, nice but slightly small pool for a hotel of this size and with quite a few rooms. Breakfast options were plentiful however if you book in advance it is much cheaper. Walk up rate is over 40 euro per person. Highly recommend this hotel for comfort and for service.

Excellent staff. Very helpful. Didn’t like the food at the Berlin Bakery. Choices limited and salad and sandwiches mediocre at best. For such a great place you would expect the food to be better. Everything else was fine.

The JW in Berlin was elegant, relaxed, and perfect for our stay. The room was spacious and impeccable. The breakfast was probably the best we’ve ever had in a hotel. The pool and gym were fabulous. The location, on a quiet street lined with embassies, is great, top: A stone’s throw away from the Philharmonic, the gorgeous Gemäldegalerie and right next to the park. Thank you to the staff for making us feel so welcome and so happy in Berlin!
