The staff were very friendly but there was limited bar opening. You can only walk around part of the lake we were disappointed you couldnt see more of the lake. Dirty plaster in our room, hairs on the sink not ours when we arrived. The first nreskfast was cold but the second breakfast was a bit warmer despite getting their for the opening up of the breakfast. Property is a bit dated but it was in reasonable condition.

I found this hotel charming and really good value for money. The decor is of its time but for me it matches the style of the building. It's not the most super-modern but the prices are incredibly reasonable and everything I saw was comfortable and clean. Buffet breakfast was delicious and had all the things you would expect. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful - going out of their way to help me and my little girls watch the world cup final on a TV in the lobby when the bar was locked in the morning! Only minor comment: there's nowhere to get a drink during the daytime - the bar doesn't open till the afternoon. In that context, a vending machine to get water and soft drinks would be a welcome addition.

Plenty of space and unique decor in the main reception area. Bedrooms are clean and tidy and very comfy beds. The hotel feels a bit dated but the staff are friendly and polite. Decent selection on the menu but fish was over cooked on evening meal as was most of the buffet breakfast. The lakeside location is stunning and relaxing and overall it means that I would return again on business. No pool or gym available at this site.

Many facilities not in use and very dated. Did not feel the cost reflected the hotel experience that was expected.

Parking was great. Nice big car park and free. Felt safe and tucked away. We did not have breakfast. Evening menu appears to be pizza or pizza Not allowed to take own food or drinks ,🤔 we went to a nice pub instead. Bar was a bit pricey but it's a hotel so expect it. Looks a little dated but it was really nice. Lovely lake to look out in. No noise at all which was nice. We had requested ground floor as husband is disabled. The receptionist was amazing and helped us as this had not been requested from the booking. Could not fault anything for the price we paid

Hotel has potential but looks like it's run on skeleton staff. Bar opening hours were limited and the draught beer tasted sour, I suspect the lines lack cleaning. In the room the cold tap produced warm water only. Breakfast lacked healthy options, no fruit, etc.For the cost of the room I should have stuck with Travelodge.

We arrived to a completely empty car park (space for around 100 cars), and a deserted hotel, with the exception of one person at Reception. We had been warned by the hotel that the Leisure facilities were closed and the bar and restaurant would close, dependent on trade, but we didn't expect the restaurant to be closed at 6 in the evening! The sandwiches from the local petrol station were less than interesting. Otherwise, hotel decor and fittings are very dated, breakfast is ok, and the staff seem cheerful and engaged.

Very comfortable large sized hotel with nice clean large rooms - unfortunately gym and pool is no longer open, but rooms are clean and staff are very friendly , Good budget hotel set in a nice scenic area,,

The whole place is tired and dated and in need of a good clean, there’s the asylum seeker hotel across the road all facilities where closed the swimming pool empty and not in use the bar didn’t open til 3 and was very expensive and making up prices as they went the breakfast was poor and under cooked my room was infested with spiders

Hotel was a blast from the past - Great Lobby and ceiling, had nice view over the lake. Hotel was clean in outside areas and rooms. Staff were pleasant and polite. Breakfast is buffet style but labelling could be better e.g what is tea/coffee. Overall a pleasant stay.

The hotel looks great, well maintained and impressive once inside. Our room had a small balcony with a view of the lake and was a well appointed with a large double bed. The breakfast included a hot buffet English style along with a selection of cereals and juices.

Decor is way outdated, cobwebs in bathroom, filth round toilet seat hinges, half electrical sockets in room not working, rotten facia over balcony door, Needs a Damn good clean and way overdue an entire maintenance overall, far too expensive for the state of it. On the upside staff were great, and there is ample parking

Stayed 2 nights, staff friendly and helpful. Hotel including our room was immaculate. Booking to stay again next month and would highly recommend. Bonus was a lovely view from our room.

Clean & Tidy hotel if slightly old fashioned decor - think conference hotel built in the 70’s / 80’s… but this is where the criticism starts and stops. Service = amazing Cleanliness = Top Notch Staff = attentive and super friendly Yes it is a little old fashioned and the decor could do with updating (for the love of God, get rid of some of the kitsch furniture and mismatched objet D’art!) but this place oozes charm and the service and people make it a trip worth making. I’d stay again and recommend you do too!

Hotel staff were friendly, room was clean even though the hotel seems a bit old and tired and there was a little bit of an odd smell in the room. It was quiet at night and the area felt safe.

Nice location, room to an ok standard. Staff in general friendly and approachable. Room was not serviced however and housekeeping lied by stating we had left DND on both rooms. No apology offered and denied any recourse.

The property is old and tired shower cold no housekeeping nobody came to clean up cups or replenish tea bags. No towels replaced.or bed made . We found a pizza box with mouldy pizza inside must have been weeks old on top of wardrobe. Hairdryer dryer very old and kept cutting out. Generally awful would never stay stay again . We passed pizza to staff who didn’t really care. Key for lights very useless had to insert at least 3 times to get working .

The best thing about this hotel is their staff. They are amazing and so helpful. I arrived on a Sunday, after an 11hr flight, to no food or bar. This hotel has nothing around it so I needed to get an uber to a restaurant and back. The restaurant opened the next morning when more guests arrived. I had the breakfast. There was one croissant left and only the English style breakfast. The orange juice was a drink, not juice and had all sort of extra unhealthy ingredients. I would expect, for UK pounds, fresh juice. The bed was so hard I had aches in the morning. Bring your own hair dryer if you are a female that likes to do your hair, as the one they have is attached inside a drawer so not much ability to stretch. The bathroom had no exhaust fan so no way to get ready in there until it cleared. I left a day early.

Large hotel that desperately needs modernising, beautiful surroundings & lovely staff. The food was not great & the bed was the most uncomfortable I think I've ever slept in

This is a dated hotel and venue which has seen better days but the welcome was good, the view from the room great and the bed very comfortable.

It’s like stepping back into the 60s/70s. In its’ time it would have been the place to be. The decor is love it or hate it, but I found it a guilty pleasure. The bedroom was large, clean with a view of the lake and a balcony. The bed was really comfortable. Crisp, clean white bedding. I slept like a log. The carpet and curtains were faded and the shower head sent out water like a hose rather than a sprinkle. There was also a vent sending cool air into the room whether it was wanted or not. But there was always hot water. Breakfast was good and the staff exceptionally friendly and courteous. We stayed during a bank holiday but the hotel was quiet and not rushed. We would stay there again.

Spacious room with a balcony , seriously cold aircon as well which meant a good nights sleep during the heatwave Fridge in room and a huge comfy bed Lots of parking as well Way better value than other hotels in the area

Has a very 70's feel to it. Clean & tidy. Rooms were nothing special but wete ok. Staff attentivness was a little disapointing. The man on breakfast was very polite, however he was on his mobile if there werent any guests coming in. On the day of check out, reception was empty. I had to wait over 5 mins for the receptionist to turn up. Smelt like she had been smoking. The waiting and the fact she had been smoking werent an issue for me personally, but I do feel from a professional point of view, reception should be staffed at all times, espically if someone is going for a break.

From the advertise pictures I was expecting to see something special being at Lakeside hotel is also where they host international darts in the same complex very disappointed didn't appear to be a lot of staff around hotel looks very tired. Need a really good refurbishment the Lakeside hotel is not that close to many restaurants et cetera so I ended up having to eat in a restaurant area. Had to wait a long time to order food and even longer to get a drink as there was one lady who bless her was doing her best to cover both the bar and the restaurant area on her own and she was also at an age which must be quite tough. The food arrived. It was edible but nothing special as I was attending an exhibitor exhibition the following morning I asked that reception if I could get room service for breakfast as the normal service of breakfast was later and I could attend. I filled out a card offering a list of choices for the breakfast. Their credit arrived at 6:30 as asked but unfortunately they decided to ignore my choices and put everything else, but what I chose on my plate and I didn't have time to discuss it with them . As I was staying for two nights the following evening I went out for dinner instead but I did attend the normal service breakfast the following morning where they seem to be more staff on and was greeted with a smile. There was limited choice again, but there was a full breakfast which I went for and that wasmore than acceptable.

Front desk not very helpful, the manager seems to be bother by helping clients. Rooms and electrical plugs are very outdated and old. TV sometimes works, very poor cable tv. If you what a hotel from the 70’s, this is the place.

The service I received was extremely unprofessional. On two separate occasions when I had been to the reception desk, there was no one to be seen anywhere. I had requested a dental kit at 7:00 am from my room. I was informed that it would be delivered to my room at 8:00 am when staff were available. This made me wonder whether I was in an office or a hotel. At 8:30 am, I contacted reception to inform them that I hadn't yet received the dental kit. To my surprise, I was told that the hotel does not provide dental kits and that it is the responsibility of customers to bring their own. I was fine with this, but I was frustrated that I had to wait for an hour and a half only to find out that the hotel does not provide dental kits. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, I was told that the person who had informed me about the dental kit was a new staff member who didn't know the hotel's policies. I found this response strange because I don't think it's reasonable to expect customers to verify every staff member's experience before contacting them. They are far from professionalism and credibility.

Lovely location. Nice view from room. Hotel rather dated. With that I have no problem. Dinner was efficiently done. I have an issue with the young gentleman on reception. Outrightly rude. He obviously had no desire to be there and was more interested in his mobile than the customer. He was not on his post when we arrived. He was just incompetent.

Easy to park, nice hotel. Good size restaurant and bar. Fitted perfectly for one night stay for an event at Farnborough.

We visited the Lakeside International Hotel over the bank holiday weekend, hoping to escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a peaceful retreat by the lake. However, despite the gorgeous surroundings, the hotel itself leaves something to be desired. The interiors, though functional, feel outdated and in need of a refresh. Another area that could use improvement is the service. Unfortunately, the staff did not seem particularly forthcoming or attentive during our stay. While we didn’t encounter any major issues, the lack of warmth and proactiveness in the service was noticeable. A bit more friendliness and attentiveness would have made a significant difference in our overall experience. In summary, the Lakeside International Hotel has the potential to be a fantastic getaway, thanks to its picturesque location. However, it falls short due to its dated interiors and lackluster service. With a few improvements, it could truly shine as a top choice for a relaxing lakeside retreat.

Its a nice traditional hotel. Very clean and tidy. Clean and comfy bedroom with powerful shower. There is a stunning lake at the back of the hotel which makes for an amazing backdrop on summer's evening. Breakfast was plentiful with good choice of buffet. Ample free parking Was once the home of darts. The hotel was quite quiet on a weekend in the heights of summer, shame the hotel isn't busier with football as would help with the ambience.

The area around the hotel is tatty. Also the leisure facilities were not available but we had been pre-warned of this. The breakfast was good, it is just a shame that there has been little maintenance around the property and surroundings. Commercial vehicle drivers should be made aware that there is a charge for parking and that the vehicles remain at the entrance car park rather than allowed in the car park close to reception, meaning that security of vehicles could be a concern.

Meets my needs. Lovely view as always (requested a lake view). Safe and secure. Breakfast limited but lovely croissants. Only downside which doesn’t bother me, hotel is dated but this adds charm. Shame windows have internal condensation. Will definitely be back.

Lake side hotel where I stayed 2nights was managed as one of the budget hotel, you can imagine before nine am on Saturday there was no more mushroom for many people for breakfast. That shows that there was no good preparation for us. The

We were advised breakfast was 7-9.30. We went to breakfast early on Saturday morning as we were on a tight schedule and needed to leave the property by 8.15. We arrived at breakfast at 7.15, expecting to be out by 7.45, unfortunately we were still waiting for the breakfast to be served by 7.30, when we enquired were the hot food was we were told it wasn’t put out until 8am. Had we been informed of this earlier we could have made different plans for breakfast. It was brought out at 7.40, some of it was cold and due to rushing the food, we didn’t enjoy it. Better communication would be preferred to people staying there.

Hotel is a little dated but it's quirkiness gives it character. Rooms were large, comfortable and cleaned daily. Staff were generally very friendly. Couple of negatives were the cost of dinner for what was a relatively basic menu and the days when breakfast wasn't a buffet due to low residency which meant a tick-box order sheet had to be filled in.
