This hotel have not been maintained for decades. When you finally got in touch with the staff they were very friendly. But both the restaurant and pool bar was abandoned for long periods. I would find another place to stay

Hotel is somewhat rustic with some modern touches. Staff was friendly. Beautiful art on the walls. Large rooms need updating, jacuzzi looked like it hadn't been used in years. Pool is nice but no entertainment. No music, pool bar is very unequipped. In house restaurant is mediocre. Private beach was the best part, clean and nice. Basically if you want solitude and quiet at the beach or the pool, this is it.

The service was great, the property was nice but definitely dated. We only stayed one night so the full experience was limited. The pool was great & beach access (had loungers & shade) awesome. Would stay again.

Pros: Room was large. Great view of pool and ocean. Nice beach area. Nice location. The art and sculptures were interesting. The people that work there were great. Built in 1991, this property has some great potential to be what it once was with a little work and some dollars invested. Cons: ALL hot tubs on patios in the rooms do not work. Elevator seldom works forcing us to walk flights of stairs every time we left the room. Patio had broken deck boards with holes. No microwave. No kitchenette. Small freezer in small refrigerator. No ice access or ice machine. Mini split a/c unit leaked every day leaving puddles on the floor by the exit door and in our hallway. Sometimes no hot water for showers. No working hot tub on premises. Small pool. Walking down the driveway has concrete tiles that are coming out, uneven and dangerous. Tennis court is run down and cannot be used. Beds are rock hard. Paint is peeling throughout the whole property. Advertised photos of the property were taken in 2015 and not a close representation of the property today. Does not have a 24 hour service desk. They only provide you with one key per room. Pretty much a self service hotel.

I have stayed at this hotel for years, and the service and hotel in general have been declining. I came to Cancun to stay for 2 months, and the guys are the reception would not upgrade my room, give me an extended stay rate, and they gave me one of the worst rooms in the hotel. Considering this time of year the hotel is almost empty, that is really bad business. The restaurant is closed, elevator is still broken and you have to carry you own stuff up and down the stairs. Just really poor service tor the premium hotel rates they are still charging. I wouldn't suggest staying here.

Beautiful room, fantastic ocean view, very friendly and accommodating staff (thumbs up to Oscar, Jose and Eduardo), beautiful lobby with breathtaking art, nice pool overlooking the ocean, free parking, steps to beach. The things we didn't like were beyond control of the hotel staff. The driveway was inundated with standing water that smelled bad; walking in and out you had to circumvent the bad water and hope a car did not come by and spray you. Our room had a jacuzzi tub on the balcony. We could fill it. The hot water worked. But the jets didn't. The elevator was not working. The tennis court was not maintained.

I got the worst room ever. Broken jacuzzi tub, outside doors jammed, electrical outlet broken, curtain broken so no privacy, hand held shower broken, warm water only no hot water! Disgusting bleached out blanket. No lamp by the bed. TV remote had to be fixed. One sink was clogged.

Terrible. No había nadie en recepción cuando llegamos y nos recibió el guarda de seguridad. Las toallas de los baños estaban rotas y viejas, la cama tenía pulgas, no había ni una sola botella de agua en el hotel. El hotel está en muy malas condiciones, viejo y descuidado, no lo recomiendo en lo absoluto.

The proptery is dated. It seems when just built it was really.nice, but it has not neen renovated. I.e shower doors.not clean. hot.tub outside room needs to be removed as junk. Door sill needs replacing. Fan blades are discolored. Bed is set on slab of concrete, thus it was too hard. Towel colors.were not white, so not sure if they were.properly clean. Bathroom fixtures and hardwares had built up oxidation on it. Walk way into property paver stoves were uneven and old. Hotel has great architecture and potential. View from foyer to sea is a million dollar view, but thats it. Elevator does not work. Wont say what my.wife says, she.saw.in the pool

The property is in need of basic maintenance. The driveway is crumbling, the tennis court is ridiculous. The inital room we were assigned should not even be used for guests as it has no view and junk behind the patio door which is the access to the pool/beach. There was sand and insects on the furniture. Basic cleaning isn't being done here. We left early but got a refund for the remaining days.

Con: Aside from the hotel, being old, which I knew before going, the beds were extremely hard, the bathrooms were gross, the shower head had so much buildup on it that it’s sprayed in different directions and the water would not drain so you were standing in a 3 inch puddle of water. The chairs down on the beach were extremely uncomfortable because there’s no pads and they’re made of that hard white plastic so after sitting on them for about a half hour your butt begins to hurt; additionally, they only had two adjustments flat or sitting completely straight up, you could not recline. The pool is old but doable and there’s very limited staff so if you’re looking for a luxurious pool experience, you will not get that (which we knew ahead of time). There is a bartender, but they’re very limited and what they serve. Pro: the staff was very nice and somewhat attentive. The view of the golf was amazing and the breakfast they served was very good.

There is an elevator to the rooms but lots of stairs to the beach (not accessible to those who have trouble with stairs). The private stretch of beach is really nice. The restaurant serves no breakfast and very minimal dinner. Other restaurants are within walking distance. My room was dirty and had a very strange layout. Room came equipped with a fridge and AC.

Small, quiet place, not busy. Restaurant food was very good priced right. Outside grounds very nice. Maintenance of the small things not kept up. Not a deal breaker for me. My room was very large, bathroom exceptional! Enjoyed my 8 day stay. Would stay again, affordable.

The hotel is beautiful, it’s a stunning older building rich with Mexican art and culture. The pool area is lovely, the hotel boasts a stunning view of the luscious turquoise Caribbean Sea, and the private beach is a huge perk! A downside is that the taps in the bathroom and the shower head need renovating, they are outdated and don’t work as well as they should do. Another downside is the mattresses aren’t very good quality, they feel hard and wouldn’t be ideal for people who have back problems and people who like a softer more supportive mattress. Although the elevator does not work, the people who work in the hotel are very lovely and will offer to carry your luggage up the stairs. Another huge perk is the hotel is in a fantastic location! Right next to a great mall and many supermarkets, restaurants, bars and even near a bus stop which is only $1 USD to ride. Overall, if you like a simple stay in a stunning historic Mexican building, this place is for you. If you prefer somewhere more modern, I don’t think this place would be for you

This is more of a couples hotel not a family type but it was ok. Be aware that our room had not much privacy almost if the walls were made out or paper not much insolation sounds proof. But again it was ok cause we didn’t spend much time in the room.

I arrived at around 1:45pm or so, there’s no checking in early.. for those who are wondering. They will ONLY allow you to check in as of 3pm. It was ok for me since I didn’t have much time to wait. My room was very big, so if you’re looking for space this is a good hotel. However, the hotel is very old. Just like other reviews I read, so I actually expected that. What bothered me was the towels, again.. very rough and old looking! Bring your own if you plan on staying here. And this goes for beach towels too. They were actually softer than the dark brown bath towels. Good thing is they had a small fridge. No microwave. That’s fine. Wifi was not dependable at all. And apparently nothing could be done when you lost connection after 5pm. So I was told. Pretty disappointing when you’re in the middle of a movie, but hey.. nothing you can do! The pool was fine, quiet most of the time. As for the beach, always found a chair.. not that many people. So that was good! But the chairs! OMG.. soooo uncomfortable. Very old chairs. Some were actually broken. To the right of me they had beautiful chairs and people taking drink orders.. I was a bit envious when my back would start to hurt.. I can’t lie! So all in all, I don’t think I’d come back here. Cause I was fine, since I was alone, but I’d rather stay somewhere a bit more comfortable next time.

My room was very big, so if you’re looking for space this is a good hotel. However, the hotel is very old. Just like other reviews I read, so I actually expected that. What bothered me was the towels, again.. very rough and old looking! Bring your own if you plan on staying here. And this goes for beach towels too. They were actually softer than the dark brown bath towels. Good thing is they had a small fridge. No microwave. That’s fine. Wifi was not dependable at all. And apparently nothing could be done when you lost connection after 5pm. So I was told. Pretty disappointing when you’re in the middle of a movie, but hey.. nothing you can do! The pool was fine, quiet most of the time. As for the beach, always found a chair.. not that many people. So that was good! But the chairs! OMG.. soooo uncomfortable. Very old chairs. Some were actually broken. To the right of me they had beautiful chairs and people taking drink orders.. I was a bit envious when my back would start to hurt.. I can’t lie! So all in all, I don’t think I’d come back here. Cause I was fine, since I was alone, but I’d rather stay somewhere a bit more comfortable next time.

Old building but great structure and excellent locations. Bed was extra stiff and being a side sleeper, was not very comfortable. Room was nice, great location and excellent view of ocean.

Built in 1991, this property has some great potential to be what it once was with a little work and some dollars invested. Cons: ALL hot tubs on patios in the rooms do not work. Elevator seldom works forcing us to walk flights of stairs every time we left the room. Patio had broken deck boards with holes. No microwave. No kitchenette. Small freezer in small refrigerator. No ice access or ice machine. Mini split a/c unit leaked every day leaving puddles on the floor by the exit door and in our hallway. Sometimes no hot water for showers. No working hot tub on premises. Small pool. Walking down the driveway has concrete tiles that are coming out, uneven and dangerous. Tennis court is run down and cannot be used. Beds are rock hard. Paint is peeling throughout the whole property. Advertised photos of the property were taken in 2015 and not a close representation of the property today. Does not have a 24 hour service desk. They only provide you with one key per room. Pretty much a self service hotel.

Beautiful, grand, older seeming hotel with lovely art and vistas. Our suite-like room was palatially large. Excellent views, nice art on the walls. Some parts of the hotel were no longer working such as either indoor or outdoor bathtubs. Large pool with beach access and lounge chairs, beautiful blue water right nearby. Friendly, helpful staff. Beds are hard, but comfortable enough for me. AC worked well. Main issue was a draft from outside kept making our door rattle and bang even though it was closed. Woke me up several times, but it was very windy that night. We'd stay here again nonetheless.

Excellent quiet location right next to one if the best parts of the beach.Beautiful hotel with art displays everywhere and friendly and helpful staff. The fixtures& decor are past their best and need a lot of money spent on them but the rest of the hotel makes up for this so it's not for you if you knit pick but I would use again with no doubts. Nice little pool, great breakfast, huge rooms. I recommend the garden rooms as you have direct access to the pool - you don't need a high level as you get the amazing views from the pool area.

The customer service is horrible, the hotel needs a lot of repairs. Very bad sewerage, when you take a shower it smells like sewer. The pool is in bad conditions, elevator doesn’t work. My girlfriend cut her finger on the beach with glass because they don’t clean the beaches. The receptionist saw her finger with blood and didn’t even offer to give her a napkin or anything. When I came downstairs from the room, I asked him to give me a towel and he said that the towel was going to get stained. I told him I don’t care charge me for the towel don’t you see that my girlfriend is bleeding.

The staff were all very friendly but not overly so. You were made to feel welcome and could get help if you needed it. The pool and drinks are very good. Some touch ups at the property are needed over time but we had a very nice stay.

Our room view was beautiful. Check in was not great. The young guy at the front desk did not give us any information on the room or hotel. We had to ask around for the wifi, where to access the beach and the pool hours. The floors are slippery especially if you drop water. We only encountered one friendly person and that was the older man at the front desk and two if the security guards. Our checkout was quick and easy. The lady at the from desk was not friendly at all.

The staff is not helpful and some (not all) of the staff at the restaurant is just useless. After 45 minutes we were still not served our breakfast for 2 and left just like another lady before us.

Hotel is okay. Advertised restaurant is terrible! Can’t get anything to eat or drink before 9am…no coffee…nothing! Room service never answers phone!! No English speaking at all! No English speaking channels on television! I would NOT recommend this property to anyone!!

I have stayed at this hotel for years, and the service and hotel in general have been declining. I came to Cancun to stay for 2 months, and the guys are the reception would not upgrade my room, give me an extended stay rate, and they gave me one of the worst rooms in the hotel. Considering this time of year the hotel is almost empty, that is really bad business. The restaurant is closed, elevator is still broken and you have to carry you own stuff up and down the stairs. Just really poor service tor the premium hotel rates they are still charging. I wouldn't suggest staying here.

Everything was fantastic, from check in to check out the entire stay was perfection. Raul at the bar had the best energy, the front desk gentleman was so polite and helpful. The room was clean and quaint and everything we needed to make our adventure to Cancun feel surreal.

I like the location, proximity to the beach, the price, the security, it was quiet and relaxing. I didn't like that the shower didn't work and the tub was unusable, and the walls were falling apart.

Would have liked a microwave and coffee pot. There is a frig. But can’t heat up food and coffee not available til 8. Places around here aren’t available for coffee til 7. Would have liked to sit outside and drink coffee while watching the sunrise. Walking up and down the drive was not good. Unstable blocks. Felt bad for the man doing it with the walker. Do not recommend for disabled people and would want to leave to explore. I am disabled and it was hard on me walking up and down the drive. I will not be able to stay here again. It is beautiful and has great access to beach, but some people want to leave and do things offsite.

Property location is 10/10 on the hotel zone except be prepared to walk up a steep grade each time coming and going. If you have stroller or limited mobility. The mall beside has a grocery store and the isla shopping centre is not far. Compared to the cost of the big hotels on the beach it is good for a short stay. The room is rustic.

Overall the property was great! The staff was extremely friendly and willing to help in any way. Shopping mall very close by and it has a grocery store in it. The walk down the driveway is very steep....if you have trouble walking, I would recommend somewhere else.

I enjoyed this stay. Nice staff, beautiful hotel, more old and less renovated than an all inclusive but I felt safe, bus stop nearby, pool side bar and restaurant for less than an all inclusive would’ve cost anyway. Would return.

I love where everything was cuz it was so close to them all two places to eat at real easy to get around you're right there on Hotel Zone to catch the bus up and down the street taxi everywhere right next to a taxi stand place the hotel had a hill to climb and had a lot of stairs I did not like that had a lot of cats on the property I did not like that but other than that the people was great

Hotel is somewhat rustic with some modern touches. Staff was friendly. Beautiful art on the walls. Large rooms need updating, jacuzzi looked like it hadn't been used in years. Pool is nice but no entertainment. No music, pool bar is very unequipped. In house restaurant is mediocre. Private beach was the best part, clean and nice. Basically if you want solitude and quiet at the beach or the pool, this is it.

Small, quiet place, not busy. Restaurant food was very good priced right. Outside grounds very nice. Maintenance of the small things not kept up. Not a deal breaker for me. My room was very large, bathroom exceptional! Enjoyed my 8 day stay. Would stay again, affordable.

I liked that boutique-style hotel with its pieces of art, baby grand pianos, vintage staircase and airy lobby with the women’s statues, arching, stretching and bathing in the sun, and Frida’s huge portrait haughtily looking at all guests that come and go. That mixture of styles is liberating. The location is perfect – on the front line, a small private beach with sunbeds and umbrellas, and the ocean - all possible hues of blue, it breathes day and night, and its waves are caressing one day and the other get harsh and slap you, knock you off your feet and drag you far from the shore to the Mer-people lurking in the ocean’s depth. It’s mesmerizing and lets you feel that you are on vacation. What I did not like is that when I booked the hotel on Expedia, it clearly stated that breakfast was included, but when I arrived, it turned out it was not. I decided to have breakfast in the hotel anyway as the rotunda where they serve it is perfectly located and gives you the ocean view, and you can see the seagulls and, if lucky, a giant lizard too, and it saves the hustle on where to go and eat. However, the service is not good. They have a few customers, are not in a hurry, do not clean tables properly, and in the morning you can see the food crumbs left from the previous day and it takes a long time to place the order and then more than 20 minutes to get your food. Still, the location of the hotel and how it’s designed are good and outweigh the other shortcomings.

Casa Turquesa is a boutique hotel with a spectacular oceanfront view. If you’re looking for some quiet, relax vibe away from loud noise and crowded hotel scenes then this THE PLACE to be at. They have a quaint restaurant that serves simple breakfast, lunch and dinner. The hotel is decorated with the owner’s private Art collection from his own Art Gallery within the Hotel itself. Fascinating! All the rooms are big with an ocean view. Negative: The bathroom shower and floor is outdated. Wear rubber slippers.

This is an older property that definitely was an amazingly resort years ago. It still has so much charm and beautiful art throughout, it just needs a little tlc. The small staff was very friendly and helpful. The checkin was the easiest ive ever had. The pool and pool area is very large and clean and overlooks some of the most beautiful beach in Cancun. Food was limited but what we had was very good and the location of the property is perfect for walking to many restaurants and shopping so you have options. For the price this property was well worth our stay, and in perfect condition i'm sure we could have never afforded staying here. So if you are not an uptight picky traveler stay here and enjoy this beautiful older property and think about the history of it and all the Hollywood celebrities that used to stay here exclusively!

For the price this property was well worth our stay, and in perfect condition i'm sure we could have never afforded staying here. So if you are not an uptight picky traveler stay here and enjoy this beautiful older property and think about the history of it and all the Hollywood celebrities that used to stay here exclusively!

Con: Aside from the hotel, being old, which I knew before going, the beds were extremely hard, the bathrooms were gross, the shower head had so much buildup on it that it’s sprayed in different directions and the water would not drain so you were standing in a 3 inch puddle of water. The chairs down on the beach were extremely uncomfortable because there’s no pads and they’re made of that hard white plastic so after sitting on them for about a half hour your butt begins to hurt; additionally, they only had two adjustments flat or sitting completely straight up, you could not recline. The pool is old but doable and there’s very limited staff so if you’re looking for a luxurious pool experience, you will not get that (which we knew ahead of time). There is a bartender, but they’re very limited and what they serve. Pro: the staff was very nice and somewhat attentive. The view of the golf was amazing and the breakfast they served was very good.

Muito bom apesar do hotel já ser mais antigo, porem tudo limpo, muito bem localizado em frente à praia a equipe dos funcionários muito prestativa e por ultimo estava com ótimo preço.

No airport shuttle. Had to pay for my own shuttle to get there fron the airport and to get to the airport after checkbout. Place looks outmoded and not neat at all. Can't believe they said it's a 4 star hotel.

The have a cat infestation. This causes smells and rodant infestation. Breakfast took forever. Coffee would take 20 min to get at the breakfast table. They have a minimum for everything. The beds are super hard. The bed sheets had stains. Everyone kept asking for tips but saying its optional, yet with their hands out. This place could look very nice if the put like 4 mil to retire it. No OSHA regulatios. Wiring all exposed in many places. I do not recommend this place for the price. Drop the price and maybe I could deal with staying there again.

The staff were amazing and so helpful! There was only 1 umbrella at the pool area which made it difficult to enjoy the pool for long periods of time if someone else was already using the umbrella. The food was great and decently priced. Views from the property were stunning!
