CityClass Hotel Alter Markt

Overall a very good hotel positioned in the Alter Markt. I overlooked the main square and the sound proofing was very good. I'd still advise earplugs though to prevent being disturbed by any late night noise from pub-goers. The hotel staff were very helpful and the housekeeping was good too. All very clean in the rooms. Bed and pillows were both very comfy and the bathroom was a good standard too. A couple of cons though: I travelled in May and couldn't set the air-con lower than 25(!), so turned it off and left the windows open all day. That's no good for nighttime though, so the room did get hot and stuffy. The rooms are very small with little room either side of the bed. Fine for a couple of nights but would feel claustrophobic if staying any longer.

The breakfast was varied, fresh and appetizing.

This hotel was excellent. Not far from the train station so easy to walk to. The hotel is close to the cathedral which was very convenient for walking. There is a square outside which was great for dinner. I would highly recommend the buffet breakfast. There was plenty of choice. The staff was very nice and helpful.

Pros - location was excellent. Breakfast and coffee were wonderful! Room was large and the decor was pretty. Cons - the pillows weren’t the best. Also, it’s noisy from the bars below until well after 2am on a Sunday night. Of course, this isn’t the hotel’s fault, but wanted to mention it for light sleepers.
