Hotel am Augustinerplatz

Nous avons très déçu de notre séjour. En effet, cet établissement n'est pas digne d'un 4 étoiles. Tout d'abord il faut savoir que la piscine et le spa sont dans une salle de sport, le premier jour nous n'avons pas eu accès à la piscine car il y avait un cours d'aquagym (auquel nous n'avions pas accès) et le reste du week-end là piscine était fermée pour nettoyage (aucune communion de la part de l'hôtel à ce sujet). En ce qui concerne l'hôtel, les lits sont très inconfortables, le ménage est plus que douteux et la chambre n'a pas été faite le deuxième jour. Il n'y avait pas de plateau de courtoisie, pas de tapis de bain, les draps / couettes présentaient des tâches suspectes, la climatisation dans les chambres était bruyante et peu efficace et les parties communes n'étaient pas climatisées (avec plus de 30 degrés dehors ça se sent !) et le petit déjeuner était médiocre. En ce qui concerne le parking, attention il n'est pas du tout sécurisé, on peut y accéder de l'extérieur en permanence. Ils ne sont pas très accueillant pour les touristes (pas d'affichage et tous les membres du personnel ne parlent pas anglais). Bref, nous sommes très loin d'un quatre étoiles et nous ne attendions pas à ça en Allemagne... Nous avons fait une réclamation auprès de l'hôtel mais nous n'avons eu aucune réponse de leur part.

SEHR GUT !! Great location. There is a parking garage right next door. Fairly close to train station. Shopping and transportation very close. Rewe grocery store around the corner. Hard Rock Cafe is close by as well. You can get access to a gym nearby as well.

4 star? Really? It was ok. No public facilities worth mentioning. Small reception. Dodgy, 80s looking bar that was unsurprisingly always empty. Didn’t mind the very small single room but hanging space minimal. Had to put my coat over the door stay! Pool/gym/spa was 200m away. No tea making facilities. Best was on first morning. Hadn’t pre booked breakfast but turned up 35 mins before buffet closed saying I’d pay and was told I was too late. A straight no! 4 star? Not a chance! Price was reasonable compared to average at this time but now I know why.

Zentral, Parkhaus nebeneinander für 15€ pro tag

Praktisch war eine Klimaanlage, die wir täglich genutzt habend auch die Lage ist perfekt. Auch das Fitnessstudio, was ich häufig verwendet habe, ist überdurchschnittlich. Zufrieden.

A great location in centre of the city within easy walking for all main city sights like EL DE Haus and the Dom. Very nice breakfast with helpful staff. There's a car park multi-storey next door or a QPark is 10mins walk away.

Lovely hotel. 10 mins walk from HBF train station. In busy area but at the end of it so very quiet. Room comfort good and got upgraded to suite with Expedia gold status. Very strange though that you had to wait until exactly 3pm to check which made the 3pm shift start busy while the morning person did nothing. Odd bar never had a bartender? Overal nice and would definitely stay again if I was in the area.

Das Hotel hat eine excellente Lage am Heumarkt und hat dafür ein gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Die dunklen Zimmer muss man mögen, aber man hört in der Nacht fast gar nichts von draußen. Ein wenig blöd ist, dass das Schwimmbad nicht im Gebäude selbst ist, sondern mit dem Fitnesstudio beim Kooperationspartner. Ich hätte mir eventuell eine Minibar gewünscht, obwohl der Supermarkt direkt um die Ecke ist. Aber für einen Städtetrip ideal!

We stayed in the extra large suite, paying a premium to treat ourselves. Initial impressions were that it was quite small and oddly laid out. Then we realised there was no balcony as per the listing - staff confirmed the site was wrong and we could not smoke on balcony anyway (that is not why we wanted it but enjoyed the judgement). We could move but only for 1 night so pointless. I booked in online the day before but had to book in again upon arrival using a screen outside, it didn't work properly but did make me pay, which I had already done. So had to finish check in at reception and got a refund for the second payment. Breakfast was only available on 1 of the 4 days due to a staff issue, first time there was a notice in the lift and on breakfast room door but notthe other days, no apologies. The 'queen' bed was 2 singles pushed together and had 2 cheap single duvets, nothing in the suite felt luxurious or at a quality you would expect in a suite. The room wasn't dirty but there were marks on floors, in the bath and sink, shelves, etc, that just showed a lack of maintenance and care. There was a full bathroom and a seperate toilet, the seperate toilet was small (fine) but had little bugs in it all the time, just a little bit nasty to see every time. We had a coffee machine but had to ask for a kettle. They provided 2 coffee pods for the machine but never replenished so we had to ask for more of those too. No extra bedding in the room so also had to ask. No more space...

The bathroom had old amenities and ripped towels. The rest was great!

Good location in central Koln 15 mins on foot from the central station...our room was big and had a functioning AC The room was full.of dust and spiderwebs - lack of professional cleaning - minimum amenities in the room - WiFi was really bad adn didnt cover the entire room on the second floor! They didnt have the complimentary bottle of wine so they offered 2 glasses of white wine instead. It's not a four star hotel...needs a lot of improvements

Dirty rooms. Not cleaned properly, hairs in bath and not daily cleaned even though asked. Very dusty and dirty and stains on couches. Yuk!

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel am Augustinerplatz! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the experience even more enjoyable. The hotel was spotless, with excellent cleanliness throughout. Its location is absolutely perfect—right in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore everything nearby. An added bonus was the affordable parking just next door, which made our trip even more convenient. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable, providing a great place to relax after a day out. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again!

This is a very budget hotel. I knew my room would be small, but it was in very poor condition. The top of bed was in a recess so that when you sit up you bang your head. The adjustable lamp above was also loose and hanging directly down. No bedside table or even a little shelf, so your phone, glasses, water, etc have to be on the floor. Wifi was very weak and wouldn’t stay connected. Oh and there was no hot water, which didn’t seem to bother the receptionist too much. All for £159 a night!

Super zufrieden! Das Hotel liegt direkt an der Fußgängerzone und man ist in 10 Minuten am Dom. Es ist sehr modern eingerichtet und das Personal war sehr freundlich. Wir hatten das Zimmer „tiny Kölsch“ und fanden es richtig gut. Größer als ich es bei dem Begriff tiny erwartet hätte. Das Zimmer war in tollem Zustand genau wie das Bad. Die Tür zum Bad kann man allerdings nicht abschließen weil dafür keine Vorrichtung/Schloss vorhanden war. Wir haben keine anderen Hotelgäste gehört und die verdunklungsvorhänge haben einen guten Job gemacht. Beim Hotel selbst gibt es ein paar Parkplätze in der Tiefgarage aber direkt daneben befindet sich auch noch ein öffentliches Parkhaus das genauso viel kostet als wenn man beim Hotel selbst parkt. Hier würde ich wieder einchecken wenn es mal für eine Übernachtung nach Köln geht.

I had a room next to a door leading to the corridor. The door was heavy and each time it was opened or closed you could hear it very loudly inside the room, I was waking up to the sound from 5am and slept badly for the entire stay. The room itself was ok, but wouldn’t class it as 4atar L

Stay was relatively okay. My room had very poor WiFi signal and that prompted me to roam through out my stay. Also my keycard stopped working before my check out

Lovely location, lovely staff, lovely condition, very modern and clean but 26 degrees in the room and impossible to sleep. So I cannot advise staying here, it is so uncomfortable and so unnecessary. It’s so unfortunate that the Hôtel chooses to not allow guests to set their own temperature. For someone like me who has a heart condition, I find it really bad for my health as I could only get a couple of hours sleep. It’s just seriously unhealthy. And the owners and management should be ashamed. When everything else is so good this is really just a big big mistake.

My stay was for the most part excellent. The one exception was street noise. The hotel is located on a major pedestrian thoroughfare, so there is considerable noise from the street into the evening, although it is gone later in the night. There is a subway station and a tram stop nearby, making it easy to get around Cologne.

Great location within the main shopping area. A few minutes walk to the Döm and old town, and to the chocolate museum. Automated check in code didn’t seem to work but it was daytime so we just went inside to the reception desk where the staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was clean, though very small. Bathroom was functional but the shower door was a little temperamental. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel so can’t comment on that. We found the department store across the road had a lovely buffet for only 5€. I would certainly stay at this hotel again, it was good value for money and surprisingly quiet for such a central location.

Booked extra large dome suite for 4 nights, paid for on Expedia. Issues: Completed online booking process, including entering passport details which is too intrusive. Despite this, check in still took far longer than normal. Was told I only needed to pay city taxes. Unauthorised charge for full stay (700 ) taken from original credit card, despite already paying through Expedia. Told I need to wait 2 weeks to get this back. As others have said, no info provided on check in. Email sent on day 2 providing wifi password, & One Key activation. Strong smell of ciggarette smoke pumped continuously into the bathroom which filled the room. Extremely unpleasant. Of note: The room is very dusty, there are lots of shiny services and dust comes in through the windows so I can see why the cleaners don't bother. Clean bedding & sinks, although hair found in bath plug hole. Damp patch on sofa and damp hand towel found on checking in. Only one large towel provided. The bath has a low shower attachment so no standing shower. Minimal facilities provided, empty fridge, no soap in toilet, no tea making facilities. Dark room with broken wardrobe light so no way of seeing in the wardrobe or safe at night. Comfy bed, although 2 singles pushed together with 2 single duvets may not suit some. The room may be sound proofed but windows are not, located on main road near fire station. Pros: Receptionists polite and keen to rectify what issues they can, providing towels and pillows on request.

The staff didn't speak English and couldn't tell me where to watch the euro football games! It was just around the corner.... Perfect location

The hotel was nice. Very good plece, close to every where But room service was very week, no tea or coffee maker in room or even public areas in lobby, you have to buy your coffee every day. They don’t come to make your room unless you ask. Also I asked twice in two days, then they came. I asked an extra pillow it takes two days to bring , And the most important thing I gave two ice pack to the receptionist to put in the fridge, because I had some medicine to carry , once we want to leave the hotel I saw they throw the ice pack out of fridge Totally I am not happy with this hotel Of course the place is very good

A nice, well managed and well maintained hotel in a terrific location on the edge of the old town, with easy access to tourist attractions, and just steps away from an U-Bahn station, multiple restaurants and a Rewe market. The hotel staff was exceptionally friendly and professional. Although we were unable to check in early, the hotel stored our bags so we were able to enjoy a day in the city. The hotel room was clean, reasonably spacious and quite comfortable. The bed was confortable and the bathroom was well designed and adequately appointed. We were particularly grateful to our air conditioning since we visited during a heatwave. The location was incredible, as we were steps away from anything we either needed or wanted. We would definitely consider staying here the next time we visit this grand city.

Hotell med bra läge i centrum. Tyst. Skön säng. Dålig service av incheckningspersonalen. Bättre sedan när det kom annan personal. Dålig lukt på rummet vid ankomst. Vi vädrade och hade på AC:n, så då blev det bra. Litet standardrum, men helt ok vid kort vistelse. Vi kan rekommendera detta hotell.

Til morgenmaden dagen efter overfuser en mand os for ikke at have forudbestilt morgenmad dagen før ved ankomst. Det havde vi aldrig hørt om, men blot fået at vide morgenmad var på 1. etage. Derfor var vi noget forundret over at blive angrebet på denne måde i morgenmadsbuffeten. Vores værelse blev ikke rengjort på trods af, at vi havde sat skiltet på vores dør, og vi måtte ned i receptionen for at bede om ekstra håndsæbe. I stedet for en flaske mousserende vin som Gold-medlem på Hotels.com fik vi to flasker vand.

Great location to be able to walk to everywhere

Excellent location. From the Neumarkt station of U-Bahn, take the exit for Hohe Str. As soon as you exit the U-Bahn station, the hotel is literally 10 seconds away. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They came across as cheerful and polite. There are dozens of restaurants within short walking distances. The hotel is in the middle of a busy shopping district and hence there are several store options within short walking distances. The hotel itself looked nice. The room was a bit on the smaller side (compared to US hotels) but that's the norm for most European hotels. Overall, would stay there again.

Yrevligt hotell mycket centralt, finns garage parkera och tryck in regnummer på markplan och betala sesan är det bara att köra ut. Tycker att det borde vara instruktioner på Engelska uppe i garaget. Sehr freundlich, sauber, zentral gelegen, gutes Frühstück. Aber: keine Fernbedienung für den Fernseher vorhanden, das Reservemodell der Rezeption funktionierte auch nicht; ausserdem kein Shampoo (stellt man natürlich erst fest, wenn man drunter steht…)

Die Nähe zur Innenstadt war richtig gut und die Lage des Hotels, denn durch die Seitenstraßen-Lage war es beeindruckend leise von außen. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück war richtig gut und die Unterkunft sauber, ordentlich und ansprechend eingerichtet. Wir würden beim Köln-Besuch wieder diese Unterkunft nehmen und auch weiterempfehlen.
