Being travellers on the Spirit of Tasmania we found the Argosy to be reasonably priced and in close proximity to the boat’s terminal. Meals were excellent and breakfast is served at 6.30am, which gave us time to eat breakfast before boarding the ferry. Would highly recommend this venue.

Argosy is located on the highway into Devonport. Very easy to find. Close to the Spirit ferries. There are three restaurants one formal with an extensive salad bar a Bistro with a drinks bar. The breakfasts both the cooked and continental are served in dining room with a chef and an array of foods for selection, juice, 4 cereals, fruit, yoghurt, freshly brewed coffee and tea. I booked on line and was extremely happy with my choice. I certainly will stay again. My thanks to ALL the pleasant staff.

Comfortable stay. Price was appropriate for accommodation type, basic , clean, friendly service. The only issue was we ran out of handwash on first day and it was never replenished after 4 days. We were leaving early and back late so didn't get the opportunity to tell tge service desk but housekeeping should have realised each day they serviced the room.

The accommodation was excellent. Large, clean, comfortable room with lots of place for my son to play. Nice bathroom, with a proper full size hair dryer. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner.

We stayed here on the night before our Spirit of Tasmania day sailing. It was very convenient to the boat and had everything we needed, including a bistro for dinner and breakfast too. The room was very spacious and had been recently renovated so was nice and fresh. The area was a little noisy at times given its proximity to the highway and docks, but we all slept well so this was not a problem.

The room I stayed in was very modern (renovated), clean, and comfortable. Very large tv, microwave, comfortable bed, and well appointed bathroom with a huge shower. I couldn’t ask for anything else. Staff were friendly and efficient, both at the front desk and also in the restaurant. I will definitely stay there again!

Room had been partially renovated. Renovations were good, but some had not been done - paint flaking etc on door, skirtings. Be prepared for a lot of road noise - windows are not double glazed even after renovation. Also had very noisy guests nearby after midnight - which of course is not the fault of the hotel. Other than that - it is a convenient location with a bistro attached for dinner and breakfast.

Although quite busy with many travellers arriving at the same time after disembarking the ferry, check in was efficient and informative. The on-site restaurant offered a range of tasty meals. The room was comfortable. There was excellent water pressure and temperature in the shower but the waterfall shower for a tall person means the floor in the bathroom is inundated.

Great location if sailing on the Spirit of Tasmania, only a few minutes away and easy to find. Really nice, renovated spacious room with views over the river. Comfortable bed, big walk in shower, parking at the door. Well equipped with kettle, toaster and microwave. Has bistro on site for meals. Very good value for money.

The shower recess was a problem. The drain for water was directly under the shower head where you stand & inadvertently block the water plus the drain seemed to have a low capacity. As a consequence the water flowed over the bathroom floor instead of down the drain!!

Renovated spacious room. Suggest a hand rail in the shower for safety. Also find it curious that crockery, cutlery, cups etc. Are provided. But washing up in the bathroom sink!

The room was very spacious and had been recently renovated so was nice and fresh. The area was a little noisy at times given its proximity to the highway and docks, but we all slept well so this was not a problem.

I wasn't given the room I had chosen and booked, well in advance purposely to avoid the chance of being given the same room I had last time with views of builders rubbish in long grass, an old shed and old fencing. It was quite a shock to see first thing in the morning!

Booked through wotif initially then had to change out dates slightly, & when we got to reception they could've find our booking. No drama they found us somehow and upgraded our room to a suite. Ocean view, toaster, microwave, plenty of cutlery & glasses etc. Beautiful modern bathroom with amazing shower (bit of flooding tho if shower was on too high but no biggy). Slightly noisy as on main rd but fairly quiet at night. Overall great stay.

Would recomnend staying here if arriving late on the Spirit of Tasmania. The late check in process was easily arranged over the phone a couple of days beforehand. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were spotless and comfy. My only complaint was the lumpy pillows. Breakfast the next morning was great and good value.

Great overnight stay for catching the ferry. Supplied plates, bowls, cutlery and microwave if you want to do a quick self catered breakfast before you leave. A little bit noisy but that was our neighbours not the hotel's fault. Dinner was great and so conveniently close. Overall I would recommend.
