Southside Guest House

My stay was uneventful, I slept well and safe but the location did not match their pictures nor do they have the amenities they advertise. I had a garden room, with Victorian doors that open to a garden however it was evident that this garden had not been tended to in a very long time and actually was overgrown and had become an area of storage. The site shows a beautiful front facade with greenery however upon arrival I almost did recognized it as there is no greenery in front and actually piles of garbage and discarded household tools/appliances)ironing boards and other rubbish. In addition the site showcase breakfast in their restaurant. Upon arrival there was a note that the restaurant was under renovations however looking through the door is was clear that there were no renovation happening nor going to happen another storage area for random stuff. I had fresh water in my room daily, but some days the dirty towels remained on the bathroom floor and the bed was never made. Roy a worker/ possible owner was kind and helpful but rarely seen I had to communicate through hotels.com to find him. Lastly their proximity to area highlights isn’t not accurate unless you are an avid and strong walker the bouts 25 mins to royal mile. I am an athlete and if I pushed myself I could get their at a minimum of 30, but reality is 40 -45 mins to the royal mile at best if your fit! WiFi was nearly non existent In the room. It was sad to me bc the home has such tremendous potential!

Bed and shower were clean. However, the rest of the room needed a clean and was very dated and tired looking.

Vänlig och hjälpsam personal. Bra läge med frukostställen, restauranger och pubar runt om. Verkade vara under pågående upprustning men rummet jättebra.
