The first elevator was broke for a time that I was there and the second was broke some of the time without a sign saying what was going on. Wasn’t aware if the staff elevator until I made a couple trips up and down the stairs. Floor 7

Decent room. Good AC. Gym was basic and needs more machines (lots of cardio equipment). Nice pool. Shower wouldn't stop dripping and towel rack fell off.

The hotel was nice and the rooms were big and clean. However the pool was NOT heated and the hot tub wasn’t working. Paying for amenities you don’t receive is frustrating.

An excellent location, at a very attractive price (compared to Ontario anyway). The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were modernized, clean, and comfortable. The only quibble I have is that their Sauna if out of operation. Would have been nice on a cold night but the indoor pool (which was in operation).

I was very disappointed in the pool first of all it is very old and should be replaced for sanitary issues, (old tile, old grout, etc) the hot tub did not work, the sauna was locked down, not upto the standards of hotel i was hoping for, i opened a wash cloth and some dry white powder fell out! Looked like talc, or detergent! On the upside Maxwells was a great breakfast with great service.

Lots of little issues contributed to a less than pleasant experience. Advertised amenities like the EV charger and even an ATM at the hotel were all not available or broken. Ceilings are very low in the hallways, some exit signs would hit my head if I wasn\'t paying attention (6\'2"). Bathroom had what looked like mold on the tiles around the tub, the tub itself was badly worn and had what looked like rust stains and tons of scratches, the sink was cracked, missing trim around the shower head (hole in the wall) and the shower head came to my chin. We had a river view room, but out view was mainly of a flat roof with utilities installed on it. The location is great, and most of the staff (except for the reception) we\'re excellent and friendly.

We had to wait an hour to check in. The restaurant there was very slow. Elevator was broke. Hot tub at pool was broken. I did however receive a discount for my wait. And front desk was awesome. Room was good.

Old and dingy, bedding was dirty tub was moldy and there was what looked like dried vomit on the back of the bathroom door. Thank god the carpets were a dark color so i couldn't see how dirty they really were. Thought i had booked a nice hotel but regreted ever staying there. Wiil not ever be back. Don't fall for the pics !! Its an old 2 star hotel at best.

Mirror in room was dirty, tub was dirty, sink was dirty. The hot tub was closed and the sauna has been closed every time we have stayed here. When we went swimming the corners and sides of the pool were green and dirt all around the pool on the ground leading to the drains in multiple places. The ceiling at the pool and in our room had dirt, and the paint was raised and peeling. Almost like water damage. The elevator floors both the day, night and next morning were not mopped or cleaned. They were filthy. The plugs and charging station by the bed were broken. The people at the front desk were absolutely amazing accomodating our check-in times and were just friendly and helpful. The resturants in the same building seem more renovated an clean. Wve have stayed here previous times abd has not witnessed the same filth. For 250 dollars I expected a certain level of cleanliness and everything to be working.

Historic property. Quiet and safe. Walkable to The Playhouse and Isaac’s Way restaurant nearby. Room cleanliness was below par - food residue on one bed pillow and a hair in the bathtub. Parking was easy but expensive. Staff at front desk were friendly and helpful.

Paper thin walls. Heard the tv next door. Staff asked to lower volume. After 20 minutes volume came on again. Stayed that way till 2:00 am, staff said no other rooms available. Horrible sleep. Bring ear plugs if you go.

Central location by the waterfront. However, the hotel is on the expensive side, especially considering the rooms are in need of upgrades. My room had a strange smell, which was off-putting. I’m glad I only stayed for one night.

Unfortunately, the listings are misrepresented on this app. The photos and listing indicate that there is a desk/workspace in the standard room and this is not the case. Friendly efficient staff at reception. Spacious room with comfortable king size bed. We had the corner river view room which was nice. However the lighting in the room is awful, especially the bathroom. There are much brighter and warmer LED bulbs available! Otherwise good location for walking and restaurants. Ok for an overnight stay.

We have stayed at this hotel many times when we visit family and we are usually happy with our stay. This time it was awful. There were hockey teams staying on the same floor. To say that it was loud and rowdy is an understatement. From 8am to 12pm there was constant banging of doors, children running and screaming in the hallways and parents partying in the hallways. This went on from Thursday to Saturday when we left. The hotel has security guards but they did nothing about this behaviour. I politely asked the parents to tone it down and was ignored. The hotel staff was useless.

Beautiful spot to stay downtown! Parking was easy and we got a daily rate for our stay. There were benches, picnic tables and a paved walking trail just behind the hotel! We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go!

Stopped here for a night during a road trip. A great location!! Right in the middle of downtown with lots of dining options in close walkable distance, and located right by a scenic walking trail along the river.

Great place - beautifully restored old hotel. Rooms were large, bed was very comfortable, towels were thick, water was hot and plentiful. Restaurants were excellent (dinner and breakfast) and staff was friendly and helpful.

The rooms have been beautifully updated. Reception staff exceptionally kind and helpful! A little ‘softener’ would go a long way with the towels! Pub (James Joyce) needs a review: service slow, food underwhelming. Would not recommend it to anyone).

Our first stay here in a long time and we were pleased to see the upgrades to the rooms. Our room was a good size for the two of us, the bed was comfortable and everything was very clean. A small thing but we did think the towels could be a bit better quality. The highlight of our stay was the excellent service we received from the front desk staff and I'm sorry for not getting the name of the staff member that checked us in. She was very friendly and very helpful and deserving of recognition. We had supper at the pub in the hotel and again got excellent service and enjoyed our meals. The hotel is in a great location and we can see ourselves staying there again.

It’s a beautiful hotel and the room was wonderful and clean. Everything we needed was there. We didn’t use the amenities so I can’t talk to that. But it’s a beautiful place to stay.

The room seemed a bit dark and dingy and it smelt pretty bad as soon as we walked through the door. I know the hotel allows dogs and wasn't sure if the smell was of dog or of the air conditioning unit, which maybe needed a clean. The floor was carpeted so I would hope that those rooms don't allow dogs. We couldn't open any windows as they're all sealed shut, but turned off the air conditioner which did improve the smell slightly. We went for an evening meal to the restaurant that night and they must have had the air conditioning on to maximum as it was freezing cold and most people were having to sit in jackets. The food though was really nice and the waitress and the rest of the staff were friendly. It's a shame about the room as the rest of the hotel is light and airy - the rooms could maybe do with some lighter paint so they're not so dark and maybe don't allow dogs in rooms.

Then the parking access is hell: the card did not work so I had to get it fixed; then on exit it did not work again. The room was ok but the heat stop working in the morning; corridors and elevator were sub standard (west wing). Elevator in need of help, paint and it was vey slow. Corridors had often food plateau and garbage bags, on the floor.
