Beautiful pool, restaurant and bar with an excellent breakfast. Rooms rather old and need to be renewed but everything was clean and tidy.

The room was perfect, and even though it was right off a busy road was quiet. Nice pool with swim up bar. The included breakfast was excellent. Gym was well equipped. My only neg comment in the party on Friday that went from 8:00p to 2:30A was incredibly loud, the hotel should definitely make a point to ensure guests are aware of this.

Dirty shower, creaky bed, inadequate parking, awfully limited breakfast and loud music on Friday night till 2:30. It’s not advertised at the time of making the reservation but they inform you after you get there at the property, which in my opinion is very late. And the reception lady has major attitude problems.

Stayed one night in an oceanfront view room. Was lovely having a morning coffee out on our little patio. Pool, bar and restaurant was fun and full buffet breakfast in the morning. Would stay again.

I like the view from the hotel. Only a few beach benches to use. The breakfast menu was bored.You can hear other guests when they talk in the rooms.Maintanence personal was working at 7 00 am hammering the walls.Its difficult to park when the upper parking lot is full.

A little more in a older Latino style than a contemporary USA style, but nice. 50 yards away from the beach that you can see from the room. Good pool and restaurant area. They have an agreement with a surf school so you get surfboards, kayaks and paddle for free. Lessons for a price. Loved that!

Nice hotel, very well located in Tamarindo: only a 2 minutes walk to the Tamarindo Beach with lots of restaurants, bars and stores at a walking distance as well. We loved the amazing pool / outdoor area with the swimming bar. The hotel offered free breakfast and free surf board rentals which was a nice plus. Our room was nice. The decor was a bit outdated, but the bed was super comfortable, and our room had a beautiful view of the ocean. Could use a little more cleanliness around the bathroom but overall it was ok for our needs. We think it offers a good price / quality ratio and great location near everything but away from all the noise. We would come back. Speaking of noise, just be aware that the hotel is quiet on all nights except Fridays. The hotel outdoor area turns into a huge nightclub as of 8 PM and until 2:30AM. We weren’t aware of this before the check-in where we were asked to sign a waiver. If you plan to have a good rest on a Friday night, this might not be the right hotel, but if you want to dance to the sounds of a salsa band, old school hip hop or reggaeton, then go for it!

Restaurant was closed for renovations. Would have been nice to have food available there.

The area is fantastic, so is the staff and the amenities. However, the bed wasn't very comfortable and the marble floors make every noise very loud in the room. We had trouble sleeping because of all the noises. Breakfast was good and there was a nice view and pool.

The room wasn’t very clean, there was some garbage still I’m guessing when they cleaned didn’t sweep good or mopped. The sink had a drain strain and was dirty and it grossed me out because the water wouldn’t fully go down quickly. I didn’t even have a view through the window, it was high and covered with a lining so you couldn’t look outside. outside my room was an ugly area with a pile of dirt and black drapes, like they maybe remodeling or adding to the hotel. Overall the hotel is in a good area and accessible to downtown and beach is like a 3 minute walk. But just an outdated hotel

For the price is not bad at all. We had room 401 and it had a very nice view. Reception staff was very friendly and we even had breakfast included. Hotel is very clean, good size pool, bar staff also very nice. We didn't have drinks here. Enjoy the beach!

Room I was staying it was always spotless clean and very roomy

I booked and paid for a room with a balcony and they gave us a regular room. They said on their end it was showing up as a regular room but when I showed them the reservation on my end, suddenly, it was popping up as a balcony room. They said it was expedias fault for booking it that way when they had other people booked in those rooms and they could not kick them out for us. They kept blaming Expedia and said this is what happens to them a lot and using a third party booking agent is not reliable. They said they would report it to Expedia but did nothing to make it right for us. The room had hair all over the shower and the back of the toilet. The pool and bar area were nice though

This property is in dire need of renovation. The bed was uncomfortable and hard and the TV is only in Spanish. We ended up with sore backs in the morning. It is a 2-2.5 star hotel at its best. For the basic rate, there is no fridge in the room. The towels were dirty and had to ask for a switch twice. I would not stay in this hotel again. For 160$US per night I think you can find more comfortable accomodation but we were there through the peak holiday season. Pros: the staff are very friendly especially Mariacruz at the reception whom was very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast is not a buffet or continental, they make it to order from a limited menu list which was nice. The grounds are well kept. The hotel is also located very close to Tamarindo and is convenient for tourist shopping. The pool area is nice if you have children. Walkable to Tamarindo beach and 2 hours from Liberia Airport.

Stayed for our first night in tamarindo. Check in wasn’t until 3pm, staff wouldn’t let us check in 20 minutes early. Property feels old and out dated and could definitely be cleaner.

They should improve their standard. The services were not up to the mark. Sink was clogged, TV wasn’t working, wifi inside the room was on and off, bed was making so much noise upon flipping sides. They should have done better for the sake of price customers pay.

Room was adequate and clean enough for a beach town. Same level you get from Daytona Beach ‘clean’. Great view of the ocean. Very eco-conscious all over the property. Toilet stopped working but one call to reception and someone hurried up and took care of it. Be aware, the hotel pool bar is also called The Crazy Monkey and they have, basically, a full on rave every Friday night from 9pm-4:30am-ish! Like 800ppl outside your window. Heavy security so I didn’t feel unsafe in any way. If I hadn’t planned an excursion with 6:30am pick up, it wouldn’t have bothered me. But my earplugs did their job and it was no big deal. Plus, hotel guests get free drinks from 9-11 that night. Just saying…bring earplugs if your stay covers a Friday night. Overall, I would stay here again. I would’ve liked to have a fridge and/or microwave in room, but made it work.

Well first of all the location of the Hotel was to far from the town, after you check in you have to walk a long way up a driveway to the rooms, the restaurant is only open for breakfast and last the bed was like sleeping on a board.

Beautiful pool and great breakfast. Nice location. The rooms and beds are too small, even claustrophobic for my liking.

The beds were really hard my back was hurting all night!

We enjoyed our stay, it was close to everything we needed. Bed was very uncomfortable and noisy. Telephone was in the room but not connected so had no way to communicate with office. Hairdryer did not work. A/C was good. Pool area and staff were amazing. Breakfast was adequate. Booked a shuttle through the office for the morning of our flight home and after waiting 30 minutes past their scheduled pick up time with a no show we hailed a cab. Had we waited any longer we would have missed our flight.

Very close to many restaurants and shops. Would have rated more stars, but the beds were terribly uncomfortable. You should also know Tamarindo is very busy, so its not a quiet hotel. (Traffic noise). Breakfast was the same food every day, would havebeen nice to chamge it.

This is a beat down property, looks so unkept. The staff has no concept of hospitality and are not helpful at all. The front desk lady had horrible manners and how she behaved with us. There was no help in taking the baggage up 3 flights of stairs, no one to welcome us on arrival and no one to show us our room. The whole place is dingy and not worth the price at all.

Very friendly and accommodating staff and incredible views with a short walk to the beach. Great coffee and fresh fruit along with other nice items with the included breakfast. Upgrading to a larger room was seamless .

We strongly recommend this property for families looking to visit Tamarindo. The room was impeccably clean with a very powerful air conditioning unit. Water pressure on both the shower and toliet were a bit lacking but still usable. We stayed on a Thursday night and had no noise problems (though it may be a problem on Friday night when their weekly parties are). We felt very safe as the front gate is closed (but it of course can be opened if you arrive late) and monitored by a security guard during the night. Breakfast was made to order (4 pre-set options) and substantial. The hotel is a short walk away from the center of town (no continuous sidewalks but did not feel particularly unsafe as long as we were careful) and across the street from the beach.

This was my first time to Tamarindo and I didn't have much expectations. Upon arrival at the hotel, I was told I had to roll my luggage on the gravel road onto to stoned driveway up a small hill and then carry it up the stairs to my room.... The next morning I saw the breakfast was sub par so I only had the toasts with butter and jam, coffee and juice. They ran out of sterno to keep the food warm the next morning, so everything was served cold. By the third morning, they had scented candles put under the warming trays but most of them were out... The property is located at the entry end of the town but still walkable into town in about 10 minutes if you walk slow. Some areas of the road toward the center of town is without sidewalk so you'll get dirty feet getting into town. My room has a decent water view above the trees but it has no mini fridge nor microwave. I had to get ice from the restaurant all day to keep my drinks cold. I think for about $100/night it's decent. There are many options of places to stay in Tamarindo but mostly local hotels and not world wide chains. There is no reception per say except a little building at the entrance that looks like a security guard hut so if you check out and leave your suitcase with the reception, you would have no where to hang out until it's time to leave. There is a very good Chinese restaurant across the street which I had a few meals while I was there.

Great price... AC had trouble keeping air temp below 72.... There is a great loud party Friday nights. Pool was good. Sun deck good. Proximity to ocean fair for walking. Breakfast was good.

This was a beautiful hotel and we loved staying here. When we got here, they didn't have our reservation at all, even though I had the email from Expedia. So Expedia really screwed the pooch on that one... The hotel was really friendly and professional and moved us into one of their villas for no extra charge. We were able to be closer to the pool and had a beatiful view of the ocean. The pool was so relaxing and we went every single day we were here (2 weeks). I was disappointed in the food here: the breakfast wasn't great and whatever option you choose when you check in is what they give you every day until you ask to change it, and there was a restaurant there that was only open for lunch, so we had to leave to get dinner or lunch. All of the staff were so nice. The bartenders had sub par skills, but were chatty and fun. I recommend you learn some simple Spanish skills as many people in the town speak only Spanish or broken English. Also, most of the workers at the hotel don't speak English and I could tell they appreciated that I made an effort to speak their native language. The bed was comfortable and they came to clean the room every day (even the sand from the beach).
