30 minuter kö vid incheckning mycket dåligt. Receptionisten (ung man) vägrade växla 10EUR till 2 st 5EUR-sedlar, tråkigt beteende. Inget gratis kaffe vare sig på rummet eller i foyen. Gymmet helt ok. Bra temperatur på rummet. Centralt läge, ändå lugnt område.

Sauna was not working even though I was told it would be available. No shower door in shower. Ceiling in shower was falling down. Breakfast was in another building which required going outside. I would not recommend staying at this hotel.

Great hotel but parking can be tricky.

Das Hotel ist eine halbe Baustelle. Dadurch ist das Restaurant, die Bar und das Gym nicht verfügbar. Das Frühstück musste im Conference-Center auf der gegenüberliegenden Straßenseite eingenommen werden. Auf meine Frage nach dem Gym wurde mir alternativ die Benützung in einem anderen Scandic Hotel in Helsinki (20 min zu Fuß oder ca .10 min mit der Straßenbahn lt. Auskunft der Rezeption) oder im Freien(!!!) angeboten. Bei gefühlt minus 20° C ist das eine Frechheit! Auch bei der Müllentsorgung ist man sehr nachlässig. Der Mülleimer bei den Aufzügen ist während der vier Nächte vor Ort immer höher zugemüllt worden, ohne dass er geleert wurde. So gesehen eine absolute Zumutung. Das Hotel hat mit der Beschreibung auf Hotels.com und der Hotel-Homepage nichts gemein. Das Gym wird z.B. auch am Hotel-Infoscreen noch immer angepriesen. Dass ein Doppelbett gebucht und bestätigt wurde und tatsächlich nur zwei Einzelbetten zusammengeschoben wurden und ein dreckiger Lüftungsschacht im Bad ist nur mehr ein Nebenschauplatz gewesen. Unsere erste Finnland-Reise haben wir uns anders vorgestellt. NIE WIEDER DIESES HOTEL!!!

Nice hotel with a gym, a bar and a restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff. Parking just outside, (with a fee). Close to the city center and located at the beautiful Katajanokka. Breakfast is good too!

Tolles Hotel mit umfangreichen Frühstück, ruhiges Zimmer mit weichen Bett. Der kostenlose Fahrradverleih war perfekt für uns.

Great hotel in central Helsinki. Finding parking can be very tricky so be warned if you come by car. Short walk to all sights and shopping. Do try the open air pools and sauna nearby!

Wonderful location, excellent restaurant. Staff and services always helpful polite and friendly. Reception toilet is is poor condition. Gym is very dated. Rooms are very clean and tidy but very dated. Ironing rooms not on floor map.

Great hotel that covers all needs especially if you are traveling with kids. Their play room is amazing as well as the breakfast.

Clean, nice breakfast , big rooms

Första rummet vi fick hade de nog glömt att städa. Det saknades tvål i behållarna för tvål, schampo och duschtvål. Dessutom var det totalt stopp i toaletten. Hotellet gav oss då ett annat rum. Rum nummer två hade stora bruna fläckar på madrassen. Detta upptäckte vi inte förrän när vi skulle checka ut när vi såg det av en händelse. Golven i båda rummen var ostädade Det var som om städpersonalen hade gått in med skor efter att man hade dammsugit och dragit med sig grus in i rummet igen. Mycket besviken eftersom jag bott på hotellet vid flera tillfällen och alltid varit mycket nöjd. En stor besvikelse!

The hotel looked good on arrival and is in a great, central location. The lobby and bar/restaurant were very smart and welcoming and all staff were very friendly and helpful. However the room was disappointing. The bathroom had a public toilet feeling and it had not been cleaned to an acceptable standard. There was a rather large and disgusting smear on the wall opposite the toilet which we had to clean off ourselves as we had already unpacked before we used the bathroom and noticed - otherwise I would have asked to move rooms as it was very off putting and I'm not sure how the cleaners could have missed it. There were limescale marks all around the toilet area and overall the bathroom didn't feel hygienic or in any way luxurious. Also the room was extremely warm and we couldn't seem to adjust the temperature. The wooden floor throughout was dirty. Also we had a family room which came with a double bed and a double sofa bed - the sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable with the thinnest mattress - and all the pillows were half the size of a normal pillow - just tiny squares. The window was very narrow with that trick of having a massive curtain which you pull back to see a much smaller window. That said the breakfast was fabulous, the location was perfect and the staff were all exemplary. Looking through previous reviews I see many people have complained about the cleanliness, bed comfort and pillows so its a surprise that nothing has been done to rectify these.

Central hotel, very comfortable, with breakfast included. The room was clean and spacious, but the service of the rooms was very bad enough, in four days they only redone the room once, even if we had posted the special tag outside the door.

Hotel room was cleaned too look at but the floor I don’t think it’s been vacuumed as I felt dust on my feet. There wasn’t any coffee in the room and when we checked in early we got charged extra 20 euro after travelling for less than 48 hours we were too tired to ask question. I don’t think I can recommend this hotel to others.

Mein Aufenthalt im Scandic Grand Marina in Helsinki war insgesamt durchwachsen. Positiv hervorzuheben sind das Frühstück und die Lage des Hotels: Das Frühstücksbuffet war absolut in Ordnung, mit einer guten Auswahl und frischen Speisen – ein angenehmer Start in den Tag. Auch die Lage ist top, viele Sehenswürdigkeiten sind zu Fuß erreichbar und der Hafen ist gleich um die Ecke. Leider gab es jedoch auch einige deutliche Schwächen. Die Betten waren unbequem und wirkten abgewohnt – die Matratzen hätten dringend ausgetauscht werden müssen, da sie keinen erholsamen Schlaf ermöglichten. Die Bettwäsche war bei meiner Ankunft nicht einwandfrei sauber und wies Flecken auf, was den Gesamteindruck stark getrübt hat. Ebenfalls problematisch: Die Fenster ließen sich nur eingeschränkt öffnen, was das Lüften des Zimmers erschwerte und das Raumklima negativ beeinflusste. Zusammengefasst: Wer Wert auf ein gutes Frühstück und eine zentrale Lage legt, wird hier fündig. Wer allerdings empfindlich auf Schlafkomfort und Sauberkeit ist, sollte sich eventuell nach einer Alternative umsehen.

The Scandic Grand Marina was perfectly located, with parking opposite, on the harbour front near the Presidential Palace. The room was ideal, clean and well furnished. The staff were excellent: polite, helpful and accommodating. We would highly recommend this hotel, and we shall return again.

Black mold in the shower. Drinking glasses were dirty. Otherwise great, and breakfast buffet was excellent.

Very pleased with the hotel and service. The b da were nice and soft. But the extra sleeping-sofa in the family room was absolutely terrible to sleep on, worst sleeping-sofa ever.

My stay was ok. The hotel room was old and dingy but I believe they are modernizing rooms. While the shower was good and breakfast was great, the bed was horrible. A thin layer was added on top of the older mattress. It kept sliding out every time you turned. Not a very comfortable sleep.

Great location. Room was very quiet. Hands-down the best hotel breakfast we've ever hard -- truly amazing! The only reason I rated this hotel a 4 is that our room was unbearably hot, even though it was cool outside. When I asked about it, I was told that the A/C is controlled centrally and that you can slightly adjust it using a gizmo on the wall, but it didn't work. You can't open the windows, either. It was too warm even to sleep with blankets. Overall, it was very good for a 2-night stay.

Very nice hotel! Breakfast was super. Room very clean en silent. A bit dark because of the very small window. But overal definitely recommended!

Staff are great, breakfast lovely and good selection of food. Room awful, worst ever in a so called 4 star, 7th (top) floor, minute room with tiny window and partial view of the harbour. Bed was the pits, a terribly soft mattress with a foam overlay. When I or my wife moved in bed the whole thing swayed like a ship in a storm. If it had been a booking for more than one night we'd have asked for a different room or left. Location was great and we were given an early check in but comfort was totally lacking.

It’s a very dated hotel. Location is very good. Close to all tourist attractions. The room layout is not good. The window is very small. The front desk service is not too helpful. Need to wait very long time just for getting a towel. Check in took ages. No kettle inside the room. The breakfast is good and reasonably priced.

Our was ready at noon but they still wanted 15€ for absolutely no reason. I completely understand if they had to change room, some cleaning schedule or whatnot but not when it was ready just waiting for the clock to turn three. Quite the welcome

It took 30min to check in and the beds are not too comfortable

We stayed for two nights at the end of our Baltic family vacation. The hotel were friendly and helpful. They upgraded us to a suite from our family room, ensured he had a breakfast bag and taxi for our early morning flight, and provided my 10-year-old son with a ticket for a free mocktail during our stay. The sauna was a nice, hot experience; and the breakfast buffet was full of tasty food. The added bonus was the location. Only a 5 minute walk from the ferry terminal and less than 10 to the main harbour. Highly recommend.

Everything was as agreed. Reception was very busy with a very long queue, about 25 people or groups at the same time.

I have stayed here before, & was keen to return. However during my stay there were simply not enough staff on duty. Check in took 20 minutes (was over complicated). The room wasn't serviced once in 4 days, so I only had wet towels by the last day. There was no reply when I called Room Service. The bar was closed, though there was a sign saying you could get drinks from reception (a further 20 minutes wait). My room key was disabled after the first night (20 minute queue to rectify the situation). I wanted to raise the issues with Scandic before writing this review, so contacted Scandic via their web site but never got any reply. Scandic are simply running this hotel with too few people, & don't seem to care. I have stayed at Scandic hotels many, many times over the last years, but fear this will be my last. I didn't find a way to complain to Expedia on their web site either.....

Very nice Hotel in an amazing building, but why charge 20€ for an ”early” check in?? We arrived at 1 pm, were told that there was a room available, but since check in is at 4 pm we had to pay 20 €. Reasonable?? We don’t think so. Our opinion of Scandic used to be so positive…

We only stayed one night, close to marina, shops & walking distance to restaurants. Staff were very friendly & we were able to leave luggage around check in/ outs.

Short walk to the Number 4 Tram, and pretty much most of the tram and bus networks. Also, a short walk to Esplanadi in Helsinki centre city, and the open air market. There are also stores nearby with good food and everyday necessities.

Large hotel right next to the Viking Line ferry port, so very convenient. Just a block from a tram stop. Huge breakfast with great selection.

Really interesting architecture and a really great location, just a few minutes walk to the harbour and the city centre - but some little things that could be improved on that would, collectively, make a significant improvement. 1. Hairdryer in hotel room overheated and cut out repeatedly. Please put decent 2. Great to have a minibar, but annoying that it wasn't re-stocked at all across my 4 night stay. 3. Chair in room was stained - made me reluctant to even sit on it! 4. Rubbish left outside a room on my floor was still there the next day, albeit moved to a bin by the elevator. The next day again, the bin - overfull - also had a number of filled plastic bags left beside it. Not a good look. 5. Breakfast was EXTREMELY busy - there were some guests who took breakfast at the hotel bar in order to find a place to sit. Not restful at all! Perhaps a 'traffic light' system might help? 6. Air-conditioning was playing up while I stayed. The hotel staff were very helpful in finding a small table-top fan and sharing a special gadget to open the unusual windows in my room. 7. The cost of a large glass of wine - €20! Definitely not a place to sit and sip a few glasses! (But a short walk brings you to nice spots where a glass of Prosecco costs a mere €8.50.
