Firstly, I would say all the staff were excellent, polite, friendly and professional. In our room the complimentary biscuits had a use by date of 31/03/26. They were nearly 3 weeks out of date. There is a water bottle in the room to promote sustainability and not keep throwing bottles in landfill….great. However ours had been washed, not dried and the lid screwed on. The smell of stale rancid water was overpowering. Reception sorted both issues but I would suggest the room hadn’t been used for several weeks and not been checked prior to our stay. Very poor!! We had dinner at the Cast Iron restaurant which was excellent. Our server Izzy who was ever smiling, efficient and attentive. Well done to her. The front of house lady was also very attentive and professional. The breakfast too was excellent with a fantastic choice and great quality. Internet throughout the hotel wasn’t great. Connecting to hotel WiFi was poor and and not an easy process and my own 5G was patchy. Thankfully we weren’t there on business. Overall…mediocre, other than the staff who were excellent.
