Airport Hotel Manchester

Not too far from airport, although car would be needed. Good transport links to city centre. A big negative is the lack of free Wi-Fi in rooms – surely a necessity in 2023

It’s nowhere near the airport and the shuttle is £10 per person one way or £14 per person return however from the airport if you try ringing reception for the shuttle they don’t answer

Used hotel as overnight stay for airport. Shuttle service expensive and reception advised us to get taxi. In retrospect would have got hotel nearer airport

No Wifi! THEY CHARGE FOR WIFI! And THATS NOT IT! THEY CHARGE FOR WIFI PER DEVICE! £7 PER DEVICE!!!! They also blocked mobile data signals on our mobiles… I couldn’t even hotspot off my phone, even though i had 4 bars and 5G showing!!!

The hotel was ok but it is terrible for parking took me nearly 30 minutes to get parked

Parking is terrible

Good location for the airport, shuttle bus service offered at reception. great buffet breakfast English/Continental. Staffed 24hr. The only downside- Parking is limited and the space between the parking bays very tight.

The hotel and room was very clean. Staff efficient. No problems. Shuttle bus excellent extra facility for getting to airport.

Room very tired but bed was comfortable. Carpets beyond stained and dirty. General areas fine. Restaurant awful. Purchased buffet package of international cuisine. Night one no buffet available at all and instead a limited option menu. But, all under 16s get served an under 12 kids menu…not substantial for a growing young man! Questioned this and was told could upgrade to the adult selected menu for £6 extra. After a pointless discussion gave in and agreed to pay £6 extra, after repeatedly reconfirming it would just be £6 extra on what we purchased. Had two out of the three courses on offer as my son has a severe nut allergy and the hotels allergy menu didn’t include desserts! Food was awful!!! Then was charged £17.95 for the upgrade! The manager was rude, shouted at us (he was the one who had said to upgrade for £6) and said it wasn’t his problem and hotels.com could deal with it as they sold us the buffet package! Day two, buffet was running. Choices were not international. In fact there wasn’t choices! The limited option (one option!) was completely inedible! We left and purchased food at a restaurant down the road. Both evenings there were complaints heard in the restaurant from other tables. The manager told us he has the same argument with most people who buy their buffet option. Avoid at all costs! Hotels.com can someone contact me regarding our stay as finding a number/complaints email is impossible?

Bed cover had hair all over. Shower had mildew all in all places not obvious to clean. No shower pressure but tap was a pressure washer.

Room was very clean, food was lovely, no problems at all, will definitely stay again.

It was just alright. On checking in, we were given the wrong room. We were then given the correct room type upon complaining. Both rooms we saw were clean-ish, bedding was clean but stained, and the ensuite was clean but generally lacking in attention to detail with regards to cleaning. It was overall a very mid-tier experience.

We described the room as a “landlord special”. Most basic of “hotels” - feels like an emergency accommodation hotel for people who are struggling. Room and Bedding relatively clean but the carpet was in need of a vacuum, the bathroom needed ripped out and started again, cracked tiles, sink and black grout and silicone. It wasn’t horrendous but I didn’t feel it was of good quality. Check in, we were pretty much barked at, breakfast was basic but warm. Bar at night is quiet but a few rough people passing through.

Rooms are disgusting full or dust and mould. NO CELING LIGHT! Loud party going on hallway stinks of weed! The mattress needs replacing can feel all springs and hard. The hotel is nothing like the photos online £148 for one night is expensive for location and facilities

The room was dated which is fine if it is well looked after but it was filthy. The duvet cover looked like it had a blood stain on it. If it wasn’t for the fact it was such a late arrival

Clean room, large T.V comfortable bed and biscuits with the complimentary tea and coffee a nice touch.

Room was spacious but very dated. Clean but in need of redecorating. We arrived at 2pm and was able to book straight in, which was much appreciated. Car parking was exceptionally limited and, when asked, we were told it is not guaranteed and we may need to find parking on the street, although it is on a main road! This left us feeling a bit uneasy about returning later in the evening. At 8:30pm, we returned and created our own space as the car park was full, people unable to park and cars parked very poorly taking up two spaces. Reception also failed to give some people the gate code on arrival so we joined a queue to get around the one way system while looking for a place. Bar and restaurant area was nice, clean and well staffed, as well as reasonably priced. We enjoyed a pizza! Beds were firm, which suited us however the walls as paper thin so we woke up several times to a baby crying next door or talking. A significant amount of condensation on the windows in the morning and no extractor fan in the bathroom. Ok, on many levels, including a reasonable price, but won’t be my first choice in the future.

The car park is a nightmare. Spaces far too small and very tight access. Very uncomfortable mattress, carpet stains and unclean skirting ( possibly vomit?) also the bathroom sink tap was very loose and wobbled all over the place.

Was very busy in Manchester, so prices were just way higher than they ever should be... Bath was only warm, room never cleaned in 3 nights... The bath wash dispenser was not working didnt get fixed 2 tiny towels didn't get changed again 3 nights beds were hard and load very difficult to sleep on. Looks like normal £60 so paying £160 a night was massively over price for this very tired hotel

No plugs next to your bed to charge your mobile. No fan, no iron Board, smelly room and was not able to open the window. No toiletries.

Just a fine kind of hotel. Nothing special but a place to put your head down for a couple of nights. Strangely you get a great view if you end up on one of the higher floors.

The hotel was ok, I suppose you get what you pay for. Very basic, rooms painted in battleship grey and nothing really but a bed and bedside unit. A TV, but only a few terrestrial channels and had to be out for 10am

Extremely dated condition. Uncomfortable beds. No air con, so really hot. Worst bit is there is absolutely no parking available even though they have a fairly large car park. I am assuming they do park and stay and this is the reason for it. I booked a double for 2 people and was given a twin with one set of towels. Reception sorted when I asked for more but didn’t move us to a double.

If you truly have no other option, then only book this hotel as a last resort. This hotel chain is clearly not designed to accommodate international guests it mainly caters to British visitors. I stayed here for less than 24 hours, but hospitality and customer service are the heart of any hotel experience, and unfortunately, this one failed on both. When I arrived around 10 a.m. just to ask if I could possibly leave my small backpack, I didn’t receive a warm welcome only a blunt “no.” I found this quite strange, especially for a so-called “airport hotel.” I wasn’t even offered the option to pay extra for early check-in. The man at reception was unhelpful and dismissive, and I felt like I had to justify myself instead of being assisted. Arriving in Manchester, I had to find another place in the city center to store my bag because the hotel provided no alternatives. Later that evening, when I came back to check in, there was still no friendly greeting. The same man claimed he couldn’t find my booking details and didn’t even bother to check my passport. I had to show my confirmation email myself. Once again, no support or effort from the staff. They also advertise on partner websites that they offer a shuttle service, but I was never informed about it. The only convenient point is that bus 103 stops nearby and goes directly to the city. To be honest, if I hadn’t prepaid and had cancellation insurance, I would have asked for a refund. My room was clean and location is good

I had a top-notch experience at the Brittania Airport Hotel Manchester. My family loved the ambience and everything the hotel had to offer. After checkout, I realised I had forgotten my phone. The staff had kept it safe for me until I returned, and they were incredibly supportive throughout. Overall, this was my best hotel experience so far — highly recommend!

The staff was very helpful especially the bar people was as well when i wanted anything they got it for me.

Staff weren't very informative about parking (needed a key code to open gate for entry and exit but wasn't told that, although when I asked about a code for the gate I was given a small printed piece of paper with codes on ... then advised "you can just put your hand through the gap and turn the handle to open it" (not very safe). On leaving we thought the exit gate would open on it's own electronically (as it does on the other side to enter), so handed key cards in, went to the car then noticed a keypad to get the gate to open for exit, went back in to reception and asked why we weren't advised about/given the code and was told "you handed in the cards and said goodbye so I thought you knew". Just slightly annoyed/stressed by the situation. Basic facilities, next to a busy road so, even with the windows shut, slight traffic noise. You get what you pay for, so don't expect much, but not the worst place we've stayed.

Unfortunately, we had quite a bad experience. The reception staff was quite rude and did not help with any of our requests. We've always experienced very friendly & helpful staff in the hospitality sector, but this experience was the opposite of that.

It took a while sorting out the booking at reception as it didn't seem to list the car parking I had already paid for but the receptionist was helpful, friendly and got it sorted. Rooms were comfortable and spacious.

We stayed at this hotel 7 times last year and a further 8 times this year so that is a good recommendation to include this hotel when travelling. Rooms are very comfortable. Food in the bar & restaurant is very reasonably prices and good quality. Parking was easy. Staff on reception very helpful.

Booked a room for my Daughter but then plan changed so tried to upgrade to family room. Tried to call reception for hours, and i even had expedia trying, but they couldnt even get through to reception. So i had to make another booking which was convenient for hotel, absolutely ridiculous that you can't get through to reception of a hotel. Supposed to be 24/7 manned reception, feel like i have been conned 😡 .

Room was fine. The service from the front desk staff was appalling. The attitude given to me and my friends after we came back as we left something in the room was out of order. House cleaning were so kind for returning my belongings but please re train your disrespectful front of house staff to give better service. Will never stay again.

Its actually far from the airport

For people with cars hotel is perfect for Manchester airport which is ten minutes easy drive away. Hotel also offers a shuttle for those without cars, though at £10 per person a couple or more would do better with an ordinary taxi. The rooms are slightly tired but are clean and comfortable and offer good value for money compared to the hotels on the airport site itself. If one doesn't want to eat in the restaurant there are several Asian restaurants five minutes walk along the street together with a Tesco's. I have used this hotel many times when flying from Manchester the next day.

We stayed overnight as we were attending a football match in Old Trafford. Commute was really easy and straight forward due to the great location of the hotel. Don’t expect a fancy room, but the hotel has everything you’ll need to sleep and recharge. We arrived after 11pm so we didn’t get a chance to enjoy the restaurant or bar, but seems like they have a lot of options based on what we could see and the menu found in the room. We will definitely consider this hotel again if we return to Manchester.

Great location, ten minutes in morning traffic to the airport. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Had everything we needed for a sleep before our flight. Breakfast was ok, but not the best, having said that, there was enough to keep us going until lunchtime. I would definitely stay here again as it was good value and there's no need to pay any more for a one night stay.

It was in a very handy location for the concert we attended.

GOOD VFM AIRPORT HOTEL FOR QUICK STAY AND EARLY CHECK IN FOR AIRPORT.

Great location for airport, 24 hour reception great for early morning checkout

I've stayed here many times, as it's convenient for where I have hospital appointments, and also for the occasional overnight stay before a flight the next day. It's comfortable enough and usually clean and it's in a very convenient location. People may complain about it being a bit dated, but, hey, it's cheap and clean! The staff are usually polite, friendly and helpful, as they should be. There are shops, cafés and restaurants 5 min walk away, if you don't want to eat at the hotel (the menu is fairly good, but what I'd call standard fare and the food is fine). There are a choice of buses from the bus stop outside the hotel that go directly to Manchester Picadilly (although it will take you the best part of an hour) and also to the Airport. You don't even have to cross the road. The bus stop is immediately in front of the hotel building. The hotel does provide a Shuttle service, if you prefer that. There are no Metrolink stops nearby, however. But with the buses there's no real need. I usually travel by car and there has only been one time when I've had a problem finding a parking space at the huge hotel car park. I book breakfast every time I stay, which is buffet style and it's adequate and reasonably priced if pre-booked. Apparently they can cook vegetarian sausages on request, which is good to know. My only real complaint is that the WiFi is not free and I did try to pay to use it but it would not work on my devices at all. I had plenty of 4G/5G though.

I only stayed one night before flying from Manchester airport. Comfortable, spacious room with everything I needed. I had a pizza from the restaurant which was good , and used the hotel shuttle bus for the airport which cost £10 one way. This is the second time I've used this hotel prior to an early flight and would do so again

Excellent Hotel! Super comfy beds. Had the best nights sleep! Quality bed linen and soft furnishings. Room freshly decorated and modern. Very, very clean. Lovely soft fluffy towels. Staff are lovely and their service is excellent. Fabulous breakfast and Yorkshire Tea! Need I say any more!

Bit disappointed there wasn't a free shuttle i must have read it wrong and £12 each is ridiculous so we got a taxi. The 'buffet' was also disappointing, a pork chop and some mac n cheese with the poorest salad selection i have ever seen with a slice of 70s black forest gateaux for afters was not worth £15. We only stayed for our early flight and although I'm not saying i wouldn't stay again I'd definitely look elsewhere first.

Budget hotel that provides everything necessary. Nice clean comfortable bed, decent shower, warm room. Excellent staff. Parked our car here for £8 a night rather than paying airport charges. Good shuttle service for £14pp return. Breakfast is £2.05 cheaper if booked on arrival but it's very basic and not great quality.

The room and hotel is very clean however the bed and pillows were incredibly uncomfortable, had the worst sleep ever. We order food from the restaurant (chicken burgers)which was really nice. We paid for the breakfast which was ok.

The night we checked in was horrible, wet and windy and the room was very warm and clean. The shower was very powerful, which I liked. The hotel was fine and good value for the price. The food was very poor - I ordered a steak, medium rare and it was dry an tough not at all rare. The breakfast scrabbled egg was not real eggs- tasted awful, but the bacon was good.

Room was good bed comfy it was super clean bed was warm and spacious. The parking is a bit tight and clearly not enough spaces but no damage to any cars that I saw so must work. Food was ample and tasted good breakfast was even better. Good prices for drinks and food. What’s not to like

The hotel is easily accessible and local to shops. The bar is extremely over priced on drinks, not so bad on food. Although the rooms arent the best they do reflect with the amazing prices so as regular travellers to manchester this suits us fine, just take some surface cleaner wit you
