Days Inn by Wyndham Ottawa

Drogenabhängige und Obdachlose direkt vor den Hotel. Großer Polizei- und Rettungsdiensteinsatz gegenüber des Hotels haben zu einem sehr unkomfortablem Gefühl geführt! Außerdem waren Lift, Flure sehr unsauber und das Zimmer nur bedingt sauber! Buchung war für 3 Erwachsene, es gab aber nur ein Doppelbett, 2 Satz Handtücher etc.!

Overall our stay was good, as it was only 1 night. The staff were helpful and courteous. Check-In and Check-Out were easy as was payment. You can however see that the hotel is showing a bit more than its age. The carpeting in the hall and rooms is likely past the point when it should have been replaced. The ventilation system needs some upgrading as the scent of the restaurant on the ground floor permeates throughout the building, we were on the 4th floor. In our room none of the USB ports worked and neither could we get a signal for the television, (still not sure if that was a separate paid item or not). One thing that has bugged me about this and a few other hotels I've stayed in recently was the lack of bright lighting. There is no in-room ceiling light except over the front door and even that is minimal, the lamp lights were not very bright and unfortunately we could not open our window blinds fully as our room window faced a neighbouring room window on the corner. The curtains were a bit long and covered the heater so we had to tie one up just a bit to get the heat circulating in the room. For a quick overnight the hotel is sufficient.

I stayed at Days Inn Ottawa Downtown yesterday and overall, it was a mixed experience. The room itself was fairly clean and the bed was comfortable, which made for a decent night’s sleep. The blackout curtains were a nice touch, and the hotel was relatively quiet, so noise wasn’t an issue. However, there were several inconveniences that took away from the stay. The jetted tub was disappointing, with only some of the jets working. The ice machine was out of order, and the vending machine wouldn’t accept debit or credit cards, which was frustrating. On top of that, having to pay an extra $10 for parking felt unnecessary considering we were already paying for the room. Another downside was the overall smell in parts of the hotel, which wasn’t very pleasant. In short, while the basics like comfort and quiet were there, the maintenance issues and extra costs made the stay less enjoyable than expected.

Insecurity feeling; security guard on our floor beside the elevator. Parking lot ( motel style) filled with people just hanging... maybe residents, maybe drug dealer but anything but reassuring. I will not go back. The importance of securiry personnel was not reassuring.

Room had no television, no heat and the fridge was broken. I complained nicely to front desk but they did nothing about it. Room smelled like vomit as well. The location was nice though.
