Perfect location right in the Main Street but very quiet. The apartment was lovely and comfortable with all amenities for relaxing or self catering . Pool was perfect temperature and although small was plenty big enough for accomodation of only 16 units Jo and Gary were excellent and helpful and airport transfers were very good. Highly recommend staying here as a couple .

We really enjoyed staying here! The apartment was spacious and comfortable. The location was great - right in the center of town but only a short walk to the beach. And even though it was in the center of town, it was very quiet! Gary and Jo were great and we appreciated the airport pickup and drop off. We were also able to do laundry on the property.

The accommodation is well situated in the centre of town, close to shops, the marina and Four Mile Beach. The room is a decent size, with a screened-off bedroom, and a balcony. The self catering facilities consist of fridge-freezer, microwave and a hot plate. The low marking is entirely due to the claimed accessibility, and the arrogance of the owners when we pointed out its shortcomings. As I am a wheelchair user, we chose to stay here because we were attracted by the claims to be accessible-friendly, with “accessible parking”, “accessible reception” and “accessible room”. We asked for a ground floor room. The room is adapted. I would not, however, call it accessible. The parking is underground, with no elevator and a very steep slope up to the ground level. The reception is up yet another, similar slope (and from my chair I was unable to see the reception staff unless they were standing up). The room is on this level, but everything else - swimming pool, barbecue patio, laundry facilities - is downstairs, with absolutely no access for a wheelchair user. The downstairs area itself is not disabled friendly - access to the sunbeds being via a stepping stone over part of the pool, and the sunbeds being on a raised platform. The owner was quite dismissive of the idea that a residence boasting of its access should property ensure that the disabled person has access to all (or at least most) of the facilities, and not just the room.

Excellent location right in the middle of pubs, restaurants, shops, and an easy walk to the beach or the marina for tours but still remarkably quiet inside. Spacious self-contained apartment with good sized fridge but limited cooking facilities other than the poolside BBQ (not a problem for us as we were out each night eating at nearby venues).

Nice tidy unit, quiet, You have to be able (our case) to climb stairs with suitcase. It is a bonus to have inside parking, though maneuvering can be hard. Gary and Jo were great, welcoming and a source of information.

Our stay was excellent couldn’t fault the room so clean and cool had a balcony which was shaded by palms lovely outlook. The unit had everything you needed in it, which I was very surprised. Would highly recommend Macrossan house we will be back

Room was very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Macrossan House was right in the main street - easy access to everything. Walk to both beaches, walk to marina and cruises. Absolutely wonderful and beautiful place to stay. Would highly recommend and would definitely book again!

The rooms were lovely and clean, you can't beat the location, being in the centre of Port Douglas. It was quiet, and secure. Excellent communication, friendly staff. Will definitely stay again.

Gary and Jo were super helpful with dinner ideas and things to do in the area, both really nice people. Room was clean, well stocked, a nice size and the location was walkable to shops and restaurants as well as the beach and pier. Wonderful stay. Beautifully furnished suite, clean & well equipped kitchenette, comfy bed and very helpful people running the place. Located on the main street in Port Douglas, making it an easy walk to everything we needed.

Room was very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Macrossan House was right in the main street - easy access to everything. Walk to both beaches, walk to marina and cruises. Absolutely wonderful and beautiful place to stay. Would highly recommend and would definitely book again!

The roomy apartment was in the heart of town. Easy walk to the marina and park and beautiful Cliff trail. Good AC and comfy bed. Below garage parking.

My room was on the lower ground floor it was spacious clean and quiet. there was a washing machine and dryer for guests to use and also a drying rack in room that can go out on the balcony. the shower was very good high pressure. the pool was large and kept clean. Coles supermarket 2 min walk .

The location of the accommodation is the best part. Free parking and easy walking to everything in the main part of town. We stayed in unit 4 and the main downside was the awful musty smell when we arrived. We worked out it was a dirty air conditioner. Luckily it was not hot enugh to have it on so the smell eventually went. It was also quite dark as there was little opportunity for natural light to fill the room. We still had a nice time but would probably look for a different apartment complex next time.
