The location of this property is the most impressive point. Shoal Bay is second to none in beauty. The resort has a great outdoor pool and indoor pool with 3 spas. A nice stay and a second for us.

Staff were lovely, pool area was nice. We were not able to use indoor pool or gym due to repairs yet no reduction in fees offered, room was dirty and outdated in bathroom and kitchen. One bath towel each for four nights was not enough.

Great location right across from the beach and next to the country club which has wonderful food and entertainment Pool areas well maintained. Indoor pool area has three spas which were great and the outdoor pool area was lovely and a cute vibe, can get a little crowded though. Downside was the room was not serviced during my stay, no fresh towels or extra toilet paper topped up, rubbish not emptied. Rooms are a little dated. Overall great location and amenities for a short stay

Great location with beautiful water views. Our only disappointment was the indoor pool that was supposed to be heated - the main reason we chose this hotel. We were twice told it was 29* but it was NO where near that so we couldn't swim (nor did anyone else while we were there!).

Booked a seaview facing 2 bedroom unit for 5 nights. Room in average condition. As a guest you can not access a few facilities which is only available to members only. Keep selling membership as soon as you enter the property. If you dont attend the presentation, you dont get access to a few facilities. Staff is good! Overall OK experience.

Instead of trying to accommodate an early arrival the room wasn’t ready until 40 mins after checkin time. The corridors weren’t vacuumed at all during our stay. Dirty dishes. In cupboard & food scraps on table on balcony. Definetly not up to usual standard of cleanliness.

After viewing this resorts website we decided to book our room for a random weekend away after checking in to the hotel and entering our room it was fair from the pictures we viewed online. The rooms were not clean. Lobby unclean and bathroom was disgusting. Staff were helpful however I do not recommend this place at all,

Everything about our stay was good, except for the cleanliness of the room. We stayed in the Barrington building, top floor, ocean view. It is in real need of a deep clean. Upon walking in the first thing we saw were drip marks down the wall. The couches were covered in stains and grime. The doors and light switches were grubby. There was something questionable on the underside of the toilet paper cover. The balcony railing was covered in spiderwebs.

The staff were lovely and helpful, the location was great walking distance from everything, it was just the room was very dusty bathroom floor needed a good scrub, and carpets needed to be washed. I know they get a lot of traffic guests coming and going but need to clean better. I was a cleaner for resorts.

Our room was spotless with the most beautiful view of the Bay and Beach from our huge deck. Loved the massive flood-lit trees at nite on the walkway. Wonderful Massage too. So close to great restaurants and super breakfast place right next door. Highly recommend the Ramada Wyndham at Shoal Bay!

Located across the road from the beach. At nights, it was a bit noisy from the restaurants below the hotel. The Heritage rooms are a bit dated now and require a bathroom renovation at least. There was some mould in the groutlines and nozzles of the spa bath jets so we didn't use the bath. Shower was in the spa bath, which was quite a big step into and out of. This was aided by a railing, but if you had knee/hip issues, you wouldn't be able to access shower or bath. Kitchen area was clean and tidy, bed was comfortable, hut after asking twice for a firmer pillow, this request was ignored. Dining table and chairs very dated. Hotel was clean, games room was neat and tidy. Pool water was very warm, so we didn't go in, we swam in the ocean. Good parking facilities, and a small supermarket was a few doors away.

Very comfortable 1 bedroom apartment across the road from beach for 5 night stay. Huge balcony the length of the room which wasn’t expecting. Great location near Nelson Bay and many beautiful beaches. If nit picking balcony could do with a wash and cleaned of spiderwebs. Overall really enjoyable and wish stayed longer. Will return.

Excellent place to stay, only down side was our room was next to the club / restaurant that is part of the hotel! It stays open to 2am so it can get pretty noisy with music and people. Next time I think will ask for a quieter side of the resort! Apart from that was excellent! Food and service amazing!

Staff at reception were very friendly and helpful I spilt some nail polish on the floor at 3:15 approximately on Monday and I immediately reported it to reception. No one came before I left for an appointment at 4:10pm that day. Next morning I rang reception as the iron wasn’t working at around 7:45am and asked for a working iron and again reported about the nail polish on the floor. Around 9am I again rang reception regarding the iron as well as the nail polish that I had spilt on the floor on Monday! Eventually I had to get dressed - without being able to iron my outfit as no one had bought the iron to my room. As well they had not come to check out the nail polish spill ! When I checked out, I returned my “keys” to reception and mentioned that no replacement iron was delivered to my room and no one had been to look at the nail polish spill. I was given an apology regarding the iron and informed someone had been to the room and tried to remove the nail polish, without success, as the polish was dry by that time. The receptionist also told me that Romada had a carpet cleaner and would use that and there would be no additional costs It’s disappointing that I had to call reception numerous occasions regarding thes issues

Location was great and great facilities. The hotel itself was lovely. Lodged a complaint feedback and the duty manager Phil needs to brush up on his customer service skills. Would not listen to me and was very dismissive.He basically accused me of damaging the mattress protector. Have sent a follow up email and 3 days later I have no response.

Was trying to access Netflix on tv The 2 young girls at reception were totally helpful From instructions had to login to my google account and then access Netflix If hadn’t been told what to do wouldn’t be able to access through “streaming” instructions and wifi Have stayed in other places and they have given me a google streamer to access But the girls so helpful In every way not just that Room was very clean and tidy All in all great 👍

Great location but terrible service. They have the worst service you can expect. Just be aware that rooms are not serviced even on request unless you are staying for more than 7 days. Also, the rooms are not equipped with a phone so only way to connect is walk down to reception every time.

Stayed in a one bedroom deluxe beachfront apartment. Lovely clean beach directly opposite, good pool area. Beach bar, Bistro & Greek restaurant below all wonderful. Although kitchen & bathroom is a little tired, the rooms are spacious, clean & we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Execllent location. Very clean room and friendly reception staff. We used the spa pool and lap pool facilities which were great. We ate at the greek restraunt next door for dinner and the mermaid restaurant for breakfast, both were very close by and great food. The walks in tomaree national park are excellent and there were plenty of beach activities available.

The shower over the bath was awkward for my partner. He was too tall. I also didn’t realise there was no kitchen which was disappointing (my error). I realise it was school holidays so rates were higher but we chose to stay there as our first stay there was great. This time we paid more for less & it was a little disappointing. Staff, especially cleaning crew were fantastic.

What a beautiful part of Australia. Lovely beaches and plenty of restaurants. Club next to Ramada was amazing. Lovely food and drinks. Sight seeing in the Port Stephens area is beautiful.

We booked a 2 bedroom deluxe with waterviews. A spacious self contained apartment with a spa bath and allocated parking. Water views of Shoal bay from both bedrooms and the living room. Well equipped kitchen and lovely scented hand cream, soap, shampoo and conditioner in Bathrooms. Walking distance to IGA, great restaurants and loved Bob’s fish and chips. We enjoyed our meals at the country club as well as Mod’s Thai. Large outdoor pool, unfortunately not heated and the indoor pool was a heated 2 lane lap pool which was not big enough to entertain kids and adults as outdoor pool too cool to swim. Easy walk along the beachfront and up Mt Tomaree for breathtaking views. Ramada is a lovely place to stay at Shoal Bay

Disappointed with our 2 bedroom Deluxe Waterview to find that one bedroom is great with balcony and views, whilst the second smaller bedroom is windowless, with an opaque-type sliding door (not legally a 2nd bedroom). But at least it had an ensuite (their marketing does not specify 2 bathrooms - that would help). Also not mentioned is the permanent resident/owners, who are permitted to smoke 24/7, so our apartment had smoke drift the entire time from below (also in neighbouring unit where other members of our group were). By comparision, end of floor unit is also a 2br Deluxe Waterview and both bedrooms have great views - and windows/doors, so if you're claustrophobic, or want a fair deal, book an end unit to get the best (and bigger floor plan). The main bathroom is in need of a deep clean - perpetual stale smell of the urine - not pleasant and apparently a big problem to install brighter bulbs too. Views are great (higher floors) but take your eye masks as not block out curtains if you’re in east facing room.
