Marriott Quebec City Downtown

The adjacent parking is horrible, no signs, it is the black abbis, you get lost as many of us did that day, no collaboration between city and Marriott to post signs in parking to direct guests to proper exit to reunite guests to the hotel, horrible experience, hd to b e rescued by hotel staff along with other guests. The location is PERFECT, so close to the old city!

Never stated under renovation…why go on vacation to be awakened early by construction noise?

We had to pay for Internet, which we did not! A money grab because you are downtown. Room was small and scaffolding outside so no window view at all! Parking is a hike, and expensive . Won’t stay here again.

Have returned to this property many times to enjoy the FEQ … best summer music festival in Canada :) Love that this hotel has last-minute VIP passes for purchase. This location is super convenient for shows and shopping / walking around the old city No pool, but it’s walkable to the other Marriott to use that one. Love the modern rooms (which are shockingly quiet inside, given the busy location) and great valet parking. Only downside is that the restaurant is only option for breakfast and there is no room service at all.

We enjoyed the valet car service. Room layout was nice as well as the on-site restaurant where we had the buffet breakfast.

there is excellent area for walking in old town also very good cafe and restaurants around but hotel lobby compeletly needs renovation iwas in another Marriott,s hotel i had never seen sofa with torn leather! at lobby! already our room was so clean with no noise.

Traditional hotel on the outside, up to the minute modern on the inside. Very comfortable. Located just outside gate Saint Jean, it’s just a block from all of Old Town Quebec. The concierge filled us in on all the best restaurants. Parking is a bit expensive at 35 CAD

The room we had was spacious. The Staff was wonderful. Though exterior renovation is on going.

Older. Building that has recently been renovated. Rooms are modern, spacious and come with large 55in LCD TV, phone, WiFi...modern bathroom. There is no pool or sauna however their restaurant serves great meals. Staff are super friendly and accommodating. Hotel is close to the Rue St-Jean Gate.

Propreté, service, chambre au goût du jour

My friends and I stayed here for our group trip to celebrate our graduation. However, we didn’t have a good experience. First, the room my boyfriend and I had was clearly unprepared. This is the last thing we wanted, especially after a long tiring drive from Toronto with thunderstorms on the way. We arrived at 11.30PM and the only thing we wanted was to freshen up and rest. However, there was no bath towels in the bathroom - the only towels provided are hand and floor towels. We called housekeeping - no answer so I redirected it to front desk to request for bath towels, only to get what looked like a floor towel (see picture). However, I only realized that after I finished showering - forced to dry up with that. My boyfriend went to the front desk to complain, but was told they don’t have specific towels for bath or floor - which doesn't make any sense. In the end, my boyfriend requested for a whole set of towels and brought it back to the room - clearly you could tell there are different types of towels. Next, the cleanliness. Typically, we would come back to a clean, tidy room after exploring the city. However, we came back to a room that’s not cleaned up - bed still not made, trash bin not emptied. We didn’t bother to call them to clean up anymore since we came back at 8pm and it’s pointless since it’s only a few hours away to bedtime. Additionally, my friend told me after checkout that there was a dirty spot on her bedsheet. In conclusion, I wouldn’t come back.

Noisy heater, room was dusty and not that clean, bathroom shower curtain was smelly. A water heater would be a better option than a coffee machine. Good location of the property, courteous staff.

The hotel is in a great location but the rooms are not very clean including sheets. I had to request extra sheets to remake my bed. Buffet was good but short staffed on the day we were leaving.

Our room had a previous guests clothes in the closet, this made us think that housing keeping wasn’t very thorough. And then we found dirty coffee cups, not impressed. The restaurant doesn’t open until 7:30 am, rather late for early travel. The good thing about this hotel was the location, perfect for strolling the city

Great location if you want the convenience of walking in and around the old city. We were there for 2 nights, the room didnt get cleaned. The girl at checkin was in training and miss quoted me twice on room rate and valet parking, which i get as she was just learning the ropes. That said her manner to correcting me was the most unprofessional i have ever experienced...she embarrassed me infront of other guests. The Valet experience was deplorable, again another staff member was extremely rude. We waited for half an hour watching people coming after us, hand their ticket over and get their cars. When we inquired about our vehicle they couldnt even find our ticket and then the primary valet attendant became extremely rude with us. I would not recommend this hotel due to unprofessional employees.

Amazing location, we walked every where we went. The staff were so friendly and the room was spacious with a comfortable bed. Highly recommend!

The staff was fantastic, and the room was clean, but unfortunately the air conditioning unit was incredibly loud - and would run then shut off, then run then shut off, multiple times throughout the night, which kept waking me up. The shower water also took a significant amount of time to heat up, and there was no middle ground: either the water was scalding, or too cold. The hotel is well looked after, and in a great location, but it's also definitely showing its age.

Convenient, clean. A little disappointed with all the extras (7$ water, 10$/day wifi, etc.)

Pour un Marriott avec des tarifs plus cher que d'habitude pour cause de Carnaval, ce que je veux bien comprendre, la chambre nos a énormément déçu ! Nous avons eu la chambre 205 à éviter absolument si claustrophobe ... Le mur mitoyen ne permet ni de voir le sol malgré que nous soyons au 2 ème étage ni d'avoir vraiment de la luminosité le mur de face étant très très près on ne voit que du mur que ce soit dans le salon ou dans la chambre où en plus il y a juste une fenêtre en face et à l à hauteur du vue du lit... nous n'avions qu'une nuit de réservé car c'était un stop sur notre trajet vers Montréal et selon un employé c'est pour ça que nous avons eu ce genre de chambre et ce malgré avoir payé un total de 509.10 $ CAD En incluant les 35 $ de parking. Nous sommes d'autant plus désolés que le personnel que ce soit le concierge ou a l'accueil était vraiment très agréable mais je pense qu'ils ont des consignes pour les resa d'une seule nuit en période de festivité. Mais à ce moment là il faudrait que lorsque l'on réserve la chambre avec en plus stipulé douche baignoire pour la salle de bain et qu'ensuite il m'a été dit que pour ce tarif c'était juste douche... il aurait été honnête de dire qu'il n'y avait aucune vue autre qu'un mur en face à 5 m environ... donnat l'impression de dormir dans un sous sol...jamais eu ce type de chambre dans aucun autre Marriott ou autres hôtels du groupe et nous allons plus de 10 fous par an à l'hôtel au Canada en France ou aux USA. Front desk staff were very welcoming and helpful. Any requests we made for luggage racks or extra towels were promptly satisfied. Rooms are spacious and bathroom counter space more than adequate. Hotel is conveniently located near shops and restaurants and within walking distance of most tourist attractions and tour bus pickup sites.

The location of this property was great. It was close to all the shopping and restaurants. Staff was helpful and friendly. I had a wonderful stay.

When we checked into our suite in the evening it was not made up from the previous guest . The front desk was totally unaware of this . They got us moved to a new suite fortunately but we had to wait while they found sheets and pillows for the fold out couch bed for our granddaughter .We had called ahead about this and they had said it would be ready . During checkout time the concierge was undermanned . Took them almost half an hour to send a porter up to our room to bring down luggage. Staff there was otherwise helpful in trying to sort out these issues . Given that all in the cost of the suite was approx $500Cdn per night , really unacceptable situation .

We attended Quebec City to celebrate both of my daughter’s birthdays. We arrived to the front entrance being under construction and was during a heavy rainfall. We were the only vehicle arriving at this time. Not only was their nobody available to assist us with bringing in the luggage, they had the maintenance guy power washing the front entrance carpet during a rainstorm right in front of the main doors. So while we are trying to bring in our luggage as a family of four during heavy rain, we got soaked by the rain due to having to wait for him to stop pressure washing with every piece of luggage to proceed past him into the hotel. We were tracking all the mud from the carpet on our new luggage and new shoes as well during this process. He could have very easily have done this elsewhere or off to the side as there was plenty of room and this was totally unacceptable. The hotel was extremely understaffed and very difficult to get assistance several times. Valet service was very slow and having to be reminded several times that we are still waiting for our vehicle. We were also charged for Wifi usage even though we are Marriott Bonvoy members and should Not have a wifi charge. They did not remove the charge either. We would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone looking to book in Quebec City. Even more so if looking for an authentic experience.

Hotel was nice and convenient. Waited over an hour at the bar waiting for our room to be ready. Check in was 4 and room wasn’t ready til after 5. Then we were given keys to a room already occupied. For our inconvenience they gave us 2 free drink vouchers. Sat at the bar for an hour and never got waited on. Nice hotel, service reds a lot of improvements

The front desk staff did an incredible job taking care of our booking issues . They were fantastic and we highly recommend this hotel!

Got to the hotel a little early, so our room wasn’t ready. Not a big deal. Front desk said they’d call us when the room was ready. Confirmed they had our correct number. But they never called. We had to come back to the hotel to ask again. Not great.

We had a wonderful stay at the Downtown Marriot Quebec. The concierge services were amazing! They gave us wonderful recommendations and helped us book all of our activities during our stay.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with anything we needed. The location was perfect, right at the entrance of Old Quebec City, which made it easy to explore. Most of the main attractions, restaurants, and shops were just a short walk away. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable and a great place to come back to after a day of sightseeing

Our flight was delayed and we arrived at the hotel around midnight. We were told there was no room available!!! Excuse me, I already paid in full in advance! Imagining at 1am we have to take a taxi to go to another hotel, and I have to pay the taxi fee. It was a terrible experience. Be aware when you book this hotel, you may not have your room.

The hotel itself is fine and the staff very friendly. However there is not enough staff in the bar/ restaurant area which impacted service. The chef had to serve food that he made. Our food was cold when we finally got it. This is marriotts mistake not the staff.

The property is undergoing construction to the facade at the moment. The breakfast dinning area is small. We ended up seated at the bar one morning.
