Location was excellent. Water pressure good. Room clean. Did not like parking situation/ lack of! Did not like, not having a staffed front desk. Staircases are steep- no elevator. Cabinet which held clean towels on 3rd floor was broken- doors constantly fell at our feet. A/C in room worked fine but filter should be cleaned. No chairs to sit on as shown in room picture sent to us. Other than bed we only had a foot stool and wooden desk chair to sit on. TV was kept in cabinet which had to be kept closed in order to assess bathroom. Sink in bathroom did not drain well. No fridge in room. The guests were often times fending for ourselves or getting help from other guest concerning property questions/ concerns. No ice available on our floor only down stairs in a staffroom- not convenient, plus no large ice buckets only small wine bottle holder. No food on premises and only one vending machine for beverages but also no indication as to where vending machine is- it is tucked away in basement?? Restaurants are a couple minutes walk but once closed, you are stuck to wait for beverages or snacks. Be prepared!!

It was a pretty good experience. The room was beautiful with antique furniture. The location of the hotel was perfect - centrally located to everything. The only drawback was there never seemed to be any staff at the front desk ever, even though they said staff would be there like from 11 am to 1pm. They were fairly responsive via the phone I will add. When we arrived our access code didn't work. When I called they re-assigned a new code within two minutes. We needed help with our room safe when we arrived but no one showed up for about 90 mins after telling us someone would be there in 20 mins. We would still stay there again though, because the positives made up for the negatives. Parking at the property is limited, so you need to request/reserve a parking spot ahead of time.

This is a quaint old building with the usual quirks. We were on the 4th floor. Stairs are steep. Room was nice. Great location to explore Old Quebec City. Parking not on-site, but close enough. Enjoyable stay.

The rooms are beautiful and not cookie-cutter. We stayed in room 7 on the third floor. To reach it, we had to climb a steep and narrow spiral staircase. It's a little challenging while carrying suitcases. There is no elevator. There is no front desk staff at the hotel, ever. I would recommend this hotel for location, personality, and comfort.

Good location but for price there is nothing for breakfast, 25/day extra for parking, no personnel onsite, room on 3rd fl with no elevator, and 100% remote/digital checkin requiring 2 sets of codes to get in front door and then into the room.

Very unique experience with full independence in and out. Room was beautiful and very quaint. Parking was a challenge and was not clear at all. We had to park some distance away at city hall. Need to be very clear that parking is basically not available and you have to find your own if you can.

Only problem we had was finding parking. Staff courteously sent us a downloadable map which was a link to google maps or apple maps and it actually made it more complicated. Once we located the address of the hotel, all we needed to know was that parking was available directly behind the property and not send us from one street to another.

Nous avons adore l'emplacement super decor ! Nous aimons le cachet de lhotel sa localisation sa proximité de tout. Mais ce n'était pas super prore du genre ils sont du pour un grand ménage ! Changer les pôle de rideaux rouillé, les ventilation plein de poussière, les coins de plinte pleins de poussière, les rideaux sales.. sans oublier en dessus du lit pleins de poussière ! On a eu un pépins avec la chambre .. mais l'hôtel a vite réagit et super communication ! Super séjour nous avons apprécié notre moment de repos.

I stayed at Hotel Le Clos once before and it was lovely. During this stay, our room was inundated with flies. They were on the windows, on the lights above our bed and in the bathroom. I called for a few days and nothing was done until the night before we were leaving. We were finally moved. We spent most of our nights sitting in the lobby until it was bedtime, which was the only time we dared to go in the room. A staff member said there might be a dead winter rat in the wall. It was so bad we tried to book a flight home a day early. Staying at this hotel totally ruined what should have been an amazing vacation.

The location is excellent. We were close to everything. The air conditioning was perfect. We couldn't hear a thing and it was the right temperature. However the bathroom was very, very small. We interrupted the clean staff and they didn't come back to finish the cleaning.

Friendly and helpful staff. Gave detailed recommendations for parking. Room was clean and ready. Only problem was the lack of WiFi. The connection was very spotty if it was working at all. We had better luck just relying on our data which was unfortunate. Would stay again if WiFi got a boost. Cool place!

Room was spacious and clean. The location is ideal to explore the city and the area outside the fortifications. Kettle, coffee maker both available. Clean towels and nice bedding. Has an old character to the entire hotel. Well secure with safety codes and wifi.

Hotel le Clos is such a charming hotel! Can't beat the location, right in the heart of Old Quebec. Once you figure out parking, you're set for your stay—you don't need to drive anywhere. There's a garage around the corner for $24/day. Reasonable for the location. Inside, the hotel is very charming. Can't remember the name of the room we were in, but it was on the second floor and had a red ceiling. The mattress was comfortable, the pillows better than expected, and the decor beautiful. Bring a sleeping mask—the blackout boards and curtains block out a good amount of light, but some still gets through. I was especially happy with the price I paid. Very reasonable considering how beautiful the place is, and where it is in the city. 10/10 would stay agian!

Nice, quaint property right in the heart of Old Quebec. Old building so some quirks, but very nice if you're looking for an old-world European feel. Only drawbacks: No in-room thermostat and it was extremely warm at night, and could hear the water running quite loudly from the room above. Otherwise, very nice.

The location is fantastic—right in the heart of Old Quebec and within walking distance to everything! The room itself was spacious and lovely. The only downsides were that the bathroom had a bit of an odd smell (like damp clothes), the AC didn’t seem to be working so the room was quite warm. But overall everything is good!

The location of this hotel is perfect, truly you couldn't ask for a better location and price. It is right in the middle of Old Quebec. My mom and I had a great stay, the staff was super helpful and friendly. You do have to reserve parking and we were a little confused where the parking was. However, the staff helped us immediately, which we were very grateful for. The room was lovely, the only downsize is the rooms are not sound proof. For us this wasn't an issue but if you are a light sleeper, you might want to keep this in mind.

This is a self-check in property. We did not receive the door code needed to get into the property, our room number or the room code. We called the number that was very hard to find and was able to finally get in. We also helped two other couples who also did not receive their info leaving them stranded outside the door. A simple sign with the phone number would have been helpful. Sending the info via email and not just a text message would have also been helpful. The room was delightful and the location was amazing!

The check-in process was a challenge. We did not receive the correct code, was given a second code that was also incorrect, and finally had to wait over 30 minutes for a staff member to come let us into the room. Shortly after this, another set of guests arrived to our room to tell us they're also supposed to stay in that room. This was eventually resolved but the check-in process could certainly be refined. The condition of the room was okay. It is an older building so it was expected to have some older floors, walls etc. However, the bathroom was heavily damaged and then poorly patched, the window screens were broken, and the toilet was badly stained but had to visible cracks. The room did have AC which was nice and the rest of the room felt clean. The location is hard to beat for the price and the surrounding restaurants were very good. Location was excellent and close to all the Old City has to offer. Check in was straightforward and it was nice not to have to remember to take a key! The hotel checked in with each day via text to ensure all was well. Would definately stay there in the future.

I really wanted to like it. I love Victorian homes and history. This hotel is more like an air bnb with no staff aside from cleaners that stop in. The desk is unmanned and they don’t answer when you message them with issues. You are texted a code for the front door and your room. No actual customer service or hospitality. The cleaners came to our room once and said they would come back but didn’t, so no cleaning in the 4 days we were there. Our room had dirty dishes left and items from the previous guests. Along with bottles of cleaning spray. The spa in the bathroom was broken. This was our honeymoon and it was just unfortunate as we were really looking forward to it. The room was in disrepair with unfinished holes filled with dried mud. The AC did not keep the space cool at all. We couldn’t get the room below 25 c. We ended up leaving a day early. The community kitchen only had cold water for washing dishes and dirty dishes were left from other guests. It just felt unclean.

The hotel is located right in the heart of Old Quebec - which is exactly where we wanted to be. Within walking distance of excellent restaurants, delightful sight-seeing opportunities, and shopping. The only drawback was the parking situation. We knew that parking was limited, but the directions to find the parking lot didn’t factor in one-way streets, road closures, or detours. And… when we left the hotel this morning and pulled out into the road, we discovered that we had a flat tire (which, thanks to roadside assistance, we were able to remedy in a timely fashion). Although mildly inconvenient, it did not detract from our over all experience.

The best part of the staff was the housekeeper (shame on me for not getting her name), who was great about getting us into our room when we arrived early, and who checked in on us during our stay and who was just a wonderful human. The place has a virtual front desk, so there's no one on duty at the property, so she was a lifeline. No dining/bar facilities - it's kind of like a B&B where the owners are nowhere to be found. That said, the old house exudes charm and our room was very comfortable and for some inexplicable reason, it had a table that was set for two - kinda strange. But it came in handy our first night, which was cold and blustery and when my wife didn't want to go out again, I picked up pizza, salad and wine (glasses available in the basement "kitchen") and we had a comfy place to eat and enjoy each other's company. All in all, a fun stay and the price was right.

We loved the ambiance and location of this lovely old world hotel. There is no staff on site so it’s a self-serve kind of place, but instructions were very clear and codes to building and room all worked. We did reach out about parking, but did not hear back from host regarding details. Luckily there is an underground parking facility roughly 1 block away for a rate of $24CAD/day. We could not have had a better time in Old Quebec, and we would choose to stay at this location again. Reasonable rates. Clean comfortable room, and the location is absolutely prime. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The location was great! Very close to top rated restaurants and popular attractions. The hotel went above and beyond, there were robes, wine glasses and silverware laid out on the table. If I’m ever in Quebec City again, I’d definitely stay here and recommend it to anyone visiting.

Lovely spot in Old Quebec near the Frontenac and comfortably away from the busiest tourist streets. It’s a beautiful old building. Everything works but not ultramodern amenities. No staff on site but very responsive via text. Next door to a great Italian restaurant.

This hotel used to be wonderful when it was family owned. Now it is owned by an impersonal chain. There is no personal reception, no concierge. You have to register online and you have to use codes to get into the hotel and the room. They have destroyed the romance of the old place. It also used to have a wonderful breakfast downstairs. No more. But it is a great location.

Property was "autonomous" nobody at the desk, though reachable by phone. Fun old house. We stayed in the upper level room which was a bit hard to ventilate with only one small window. Nice public spaces. Would be great for a group stay, everybody with their own room yet capacious public space to gather. Fabulous location. Several great restaurants literally next door or across the street.

Perfect location only minutes from the Fairmont Hotel and Old Quebec City. The room was nice. It is a very old building but the bathrooms are modern. Air condition works. There is no staff. You will receive codes for the main entrance and your room. There is no elevator so If you have trouble climbing stairs make sure to book a downstairs room for a surcharge. PS: if you are traveling with a car be sure to reserve your parking space well in advance as there are only 4 small spaces available behind the hotel.

Excellent place to stay in old city Quebec. Right in the center, near all attractions. Beautiful building interior.
