Good location, one block from the beach. Lot of police presence. Felt safe walking around. Our room on the 8th floor was comfortable, had enough space, power outlets and good lighting. Bed was comfortable and air-conditioning worked well. No coffee making facilities. Need to buy your bottled water. Breakfast choices were good. Not close to metro station. No self service laundry in the hotel but there is a laundromat in the next block.

The location is absolutely perfect: right where Copacabana meets Ipanema, which is easily my favorite area to stay in Rio (close to the best beaches, restaurants, and the metro). The building itself is nicely renovated, and the staff are incredibly helpful. This is a very busy area all night long, and the street noise can be a challenge for light sleepers, so staying in a higher floor could be an interesting option. Manage your expectations wit thr breakfast: while the buffet is good, don't expect the feast that some reviews might lead you to believe. It offers decent variety, but it is ultimately quite basic for this hotel category. My only real grievance was housekeeping knocking at 8:00 AM, even on the weekend days. I highly recommend hanging the "Do Not Disturb" sign on your door if you plan on sleeping in.
