This is the 5th time I stay here and it’s always a great experience! Highly recommend, the hotel grounds are absolutely beautiful, there are plenty of dining options and great amenities such as pool, driving range, gym and spa.

This hotel was like a resort. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There were many things to do on site such as pool, restaurants, spa, driving range, tennis court and gift shop. Pros: -many amenities -nice staff -clean comfortable rooms -free juices, bar tending class, movie nights, etc Cons: -its very windy so sitting outside or playing tennis was difficult -the airport shuttle only runs a few times a day and doesnt run later in the evening -not many vegan options and no vegan desserts -bathroom has a barn door which never shuts properly and has a large gap between the wall and the door. There is no privacy. The door is also frosted so getting up in the middle of the night to use the washroom is disturbing to others. Get rid of these! -no fridge or microwave in the room. We had many leftovers and snacks but nowhere to keep them -poolside chairs are a little old -Uber is cheaper than taxi to get to the airport and downtown. Would have been nice to have a shuttle to downtown or the mall

Very good hotel, very spacious, relaxing, beautiful. Excellent gym, best of any hotel in Costa Rica where I have stayed. I wish that their was more recreation, a basquetball court, oing pong table, game room ? The space is there. Really nice cafe and other restaurants.

Very beautiful and welcoming. Staff is very attentive and working hard to address any issues or concerns. I didn’t venture off facilities, but there are places you can travel to that is not far away. My only issue was that the when I used the public hot tub it was a bit dirty from the nature that fell into it and it was warm at best. Not really hot. Everything I’d enjoyed and would recommend doing tour and the spa after.

This property was absolutely wonderful from the amenities to the very nice staff to the beautiful location. Keep in mind that the hotel is about 20 to 30 minutes from the city area and taxis can get expensive however this hotel is worth it. Activities multiple restaurants, great spa tennis golf course and a historical tour available..

Staff at sushi restaurant were great (as was food) and check-in/out were friendly and helpful. Grounds are nice. Room was hot, patio door wouldn’t open, corridors weren’t very clean at night, worse in am with food and flowers scattered throughout. Second stay in a Marriott resort - and probably our last.

Hotel was nice and clean. Front desk agent pushed VERY hard to get us to upgrade, stating our room wasn’t ready(we were there early). When I told him I did not want to pay the $200 upgrade, he gave us keys to a room(that was apparently ready) and sent us on our way. There was only 1 couple behind us, so not like tons of people waiting. No explanation of the hotel, restaurants, pool, amenities or anything. I’m an Envoy member, with zero points, but I’ve been in the hotel biz for over 20 years. The hotel is Huge and difficult to manage. You always had to hop on an elevator to get anywhere. All the other employees we encountered were friendly. I would not recommend this nor would I stay here again. Too many other options.

Beautiful from the moment you drive in. Housekeeping twice a day, attentive staff, very easy to get transportation, good restaurants and bars. A little chilly to swim so we didn’t experience the pools. Beautiful decor in lobby and hallways. A little far from San Jose, about 20-25 minutes. A lot of business travelers

The complementary shuttle I previously arranged to pick us up from the airport to the hotel was not easy to find at all, being I never been to this country before upon exiting the airport it was a enormous amount of people rushing us asking us do we need a taxi. We tried to find where the shuttle would be with no clear signage and no one standing with a sign to the hotel we had to rely on the goodness of other people to help us and might I add there was not a lot of people trying to be helpful. Once finally arriving to your hotel we went to check in I was notified that the package I previously paid for wasn’t showing in your computer system. This was through Expedia which was extremely frustrating because I cannot go back in time to show what services I selected upon paying for my stay at your hotel. Your staff only resolution in order for us to get breakfast included with our stay was either an upgrade to a more expensive room at the cost of $65 per person per night for 5 nights or pay $35 per person per day for breakfast every day. We chose the latter. Once given access to our room it smelled of mildew and the sheets were stained on one of the beds. A family of four stayed above our room and all night and early morning long we heard banging running, the dragging of furniture and stomping for our entire stay. The shuttle driver told us we’d be able to book transportation to a private beach through your hotel and that they would bring us back as well. When I went to inquire a

Beautiful property on a coffee plantation loved the whole property and antiques like it was a museum. Beautiful clean room and quiet property. Easy to park. Did not have the best meal at their restaurant, over priced and lacking flavor but could be what I ordered.

The Room was amazing and the room service was top notch and timely. Me and my girlfriend enjoyed night swimming at the amazing pool around 7 PM every night when it was empty. Food was good as well. Price was a bit expensive but definitely worth it considering everything the hotel has to offer. 5 Stars!

The staff at the Cafe was absolutely amazing! The internet was not stable during my stay even after the option to upgrade. Phone calls were hard to make, and what is considered a business center is loud because it is more of a lobby then a business center.

I love this hotel the front desk is great especially Caleb & Jackeline and Gianinna. The spa is fabulous especially Laura. Carlos the bellman is super friendly and helpful and the staff at the restaurants were amazingly tasty. Room service was impeccable and the attention to detail is remarkable - I loved the cold pool and the lounge chairs were downright decadent. I was given an upgrade to the golf view suite and it was a gem. One night my GF and I took part in the rodízio bbq which was a great deal for really feasting on all types of meats. The gym is modern and fully equipped and the grounds offer multiple walking paths if you like to stroll in nature. This hotel has it all. Delicious food, excellent service and beautiful surroundings. You really cannot go wrong booking this little piece of heaven between the mountains and the coffee plantations lis it’s minutes from the airport but feels like a whole different world of natural harmony and blissful peace amidst the kindest of peoples. Very nice hotel. The serious problem was that the computer system was down for several hours, causing chaos for check in. We were much later than normal. Having said that, Gerardo clearly did his absolute best under the circumstances.

If you need to stay close to San José or are looking for a truly special place to host an event, it really doesn’t get much better than the Marriott Hacienda Belén. The resort blends classic hacienda architecture with modern luxury, giving you the feeling of stepping back into old Costa Rica—without sacrificing a single comfort. From the hand-painted ceramics and tranquil courtyards to the grand neoclassical pools and sprawling tropical gardens, every detail is beautifully executed. The food is consistently five-star, and I always look forward to dining here. A special shout-out to Saray at reception, who worked her magic to get me into my room early before a big event and later helped me extend my stay—because one night just wasn’t enough! The staff here are friendly, professional, and always go above and beyond. Pura Vida, Marriott Hacienda Belén never disappoints

This place is beautiful. In the middle of the hustle and bustle but on the grounds feels like you are million miles from everything. The grounds are expansive and very well maintained. The pool area is lovely. All the staff from Carlos the porter, Roberto on reception, Cindy in housekeeping and Sebastian on the omelette station, basically everyone we came into contact with were wonderful. Upgrading to the executive package is worth it if you are going to be doing a lot of excursions is so worth it, just for breakfast and dinner, both buffet style, is definitely the way to go. We will definitely be returning!!!

Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We were leaving early the next morning and arrived with lots of wet clothing as we were caught in a major rainstorm while we were ziplining. They took care of everything for us without complaint and no extra fees. They helped with additional special requests as well. Genuinely excellent service.

Beautiful hotel in a great setting. The check in process is very slow and it took 30 minutes to do it. The food at the dinning/breakfast well below the standard for a five star hotel. And the personnel forgot to mention I needed to validate the parking ticket, further delaying my departure.

check in was a disaster, room not ready by 5 pm and given a room by the pool which was the worst. noisy until 1 am with people on corridors screaming and someone bouncing a ball over us. This hotel was absolutely beautiful. It had a 24 hour cafeteria with baked goods and salads and drinks. Gift shop, too. It has two pools and a hot tub. Breakfast was a choice of buffet or menu items. Only 15 minutes from airport and 2 minutes to car rental

The property is nice, but it is in the middle of a not-so-nice part of town, so it did not feel safe to venture on foot off the grounds. In addition, unless you love the pool or practicing your golf shot (driving range), there is not much to do on the property. Staff was very attentive and helpful and the restaurants were good.

This is a beautiful hotel, very close to the airport, which is what we needed. The grounds are actually gorgeous and the restaurants on site are quite good with nice views. It was better than we expected. We did have some hiccups with the booking, they Said that we could not have five people in the room even though we had paid an extra fee for an additional person. We ended up working it out, but it took an hour and made checkout very slow for some very hungry and cranky and tired children. Overall, this was a very nice hotel though and recommended if you need a place to stay by the airport.

Beautiful hotel with many amazing details. Large comfortable room with a great view. BUT....the food was atrocious. We waited for dinner for one hour and we were then served a very tepid soup and a totally uncooked (& cold) pasta dish. We sent it back and it was returned hotter but still inedible. The waiter did not charge for it, which was kind of him.

I was pleasantly surprised when arriving. It was amazing to have so many restaurants to choose from and the food was outstanding! The pool area was beautiful and the historic feel of the huge lobby was comfortable and beautiful. I would definitely stay here again, especially with the close proximity to the airport and the ease of getting in and out. Well done!!

Can’t say enough good things about how great it is to start or end your trip to Costa Rica at this hotel. Beautiful hotel, plenty of room to have relaxing walks around the property. Beautiful relaxing pool area. 4 options of restaurants to eat at on site. 15 min drive to the airport. Also the breakfast is amazing.

We stayed for one night before our departure the next morning. The resort is an oasis of luxury in not a very desirable area. Aside from convenience to the airport, the location has nothing much to offer. You certainly wouldn't leave the premises for an evening stroll. Once ensnared, customers have no where else to go. The hotel seems to take advantage of these circumstances and their clientele to charge truly extravagant prices in their restaurant with poor (_slow_) service and subpar food that is cold on arrival. It was actually the worst dining experience we had in all of our stay in Costa Rica. It seems like the lack of any local competition provides no incentive to focus on the quality of the customer experience. I'm sorry then to not provide a strong recommendation.
