Stayed here for 1 night which was a Saturday. This is a lovely old building with recently renovated rooms that are excellent. All the staff we encountered were helpful and friendly. The only downside was that there was a function being held with a live band until gone midnight. This was really loud in all parts of the hotel so no sleep until then.

Overnight stay for an event in Sheffield. We were out in a room on the 3rd floor. Elevator was broken so we had to use the service lifer to get there with our luggage. Waiting around for a member of staff to come to take us in the lift. Very bizarre experience. Breakfast very good and room clean, shame about the elevator.

Staff were amazing, food absolutely delicious, thank you to the restaurant manager and Ewan. Unfortunately a few groups were around with limitations to the bar ‘Prom night’, which vastly reduced where to socialise. The elevator is quite small and dated )a new one is in construction). Access for wheelchair/scooter very limited, the doors need to be a both way action, trying to pull a door towards you was a struggle whilst driving the scooter.

Very nice hotel, very clean and tidy, little disappointed with the parking charge when we paid nearly £350 for 3 nights and still had to pay £18 for on site parking? also no food (breakfast) involved, ranged from £13 to 18 extra if wanted breakfast, we will be booking again because of how clean and tidy it was so this isn't a review to bad mouth the hotel just disappointed with a couple of things thats all

Recent investment has clearly raised the standard throughout the hotel. Facilities look refreshed and well maintained. Staff were exceptional — friendly, professional and attentive. Some of the best service we’ve experienced; every team member we met went out of their way to help. Evening meal was very good and clearly made from fresh ingredients. My wife and I both had the steak: cooked perfectly and served with proper home‑cooked chips — a real treat. Parking is safe, convenient and easy to access, which made arrival and departures stress‑free. Because of this experience we’ll be visiting Sheffield more often for both leisure and business. Our colleagues and I now plan to use Crowne Plaza Royal Victoria Sheffield as our preferred hotel while working in the city. Highly recommended for quality accommodation, excellent service and reliably good food.

On arrival, the reception staff were warm and welcoming, and clearly explained the hotel, breakfast, bar area etc. they also advised that there was a function on that night and so the main area was closed to us (residents of the hotel). we were never advised about function before our arrival, as this did impact on our stay. the noise could be heard while we tried to sleep. The room was cold and the bathroom extremely cold, and only just got something like ok when the temperature was set at 30 degrees C. although the room was clean, the building requires a lot of work, the windows are old and the frames showing decay (wood) with draughts. On the first morning at breakfast, the main eating area was full and chaotic, and we ended up in an extension room which was reasonably quiet. The staff were great but the food was average, the exception being the hash browns. The second night, although we wasn't informed, there was another function in the main room, again with no access to it, and again noise nuisance while trying to sleep.

Hotel was dirty. Food from bar sent back as the sandwich had no filling. Dead bugs on the stairs and on the window sills next to the table in the restaurant. Hot breakfast was in fact cold. Don’t visit - certainly not worth the money and like no other Crowne Plaza that I have visited.

Shower covered on mould. My room looked ok initially but cleaning was poor as per bathroom and so noisy as terrible windows meant all I could hear until after midnight was a group attending an event congregated outside the front of the hotel shouting and my room was opposite the lift also (Room 224 avoid) so with a rubbish door on the room too every time some drunk people came up the lift that’s all I could hear. Checkout I was lied to that the printer was broken so couldn’t create a receipt, told it would be emailed and never was but after I asked to review the bull before I left and the man couldn’t work the system he admitted he doesn’t work reception so doesn’t know what he is doing. That’s when he confirmed the printer was not broken.

For the price paid I would have expected a comfortable mattress & pillows, and free parking. Bedroom was pleasant; bathroom felt a bit dated and needed a good clean. Food in the bar was good quality but the drinks prices were extortionate! Staff all seemed pretty friendly and helpful.

Due to a booking problem (ours not the hotel). We thought our first room was really nice but on our 3rd night we were moved and our second room was terrible. Gorgeous hotel although looks a little tired in places. Great that they have merged old & new though. Room was way too hot, not able to see out the window due to frosted glass & was next to house keeping’s store room so was a little noisy in the morning. Bathroom really nice & great shower

Really enjoyed this hotel. It’s a beautiful old hotel, nicely kept without being fussy. Big comfortable room, great bath, nice chairs and little touches in the room (hot chocolate sachets and bath robes), nice bar, great restaurant, not over priced and a gym. Everything feels spacious and front of hour staff were excellent. Be aware it’s an elevated so getting to it can be a little trickier than it looks on a map (there’s only one way in and out). Would stay again in a flash if I was in Sheffield.

I liked the staff; everyone I interacted with was very kind and helpful. The hotel as a whole looks old, and the carpet on the corridors' floors is very worn and outdated. The white and naked walls without decorative art or paintings on every floor make the corridor look like a cold and low character, even though the staircase looks phenomenal. The room is nice, has a good size, the bed is fine, but there is zero sound isolation, and I could hear every single noise coming from the corridor. The bathroom is renovated, with great lighting, comfortable towels, but the shower cubicle is tiny, especially taking into consideration the average British man/woman body size. The bath robes were a great touch, but they are very small for a man...my husband could not wear his comfortably. In the morning, when I was showering, the fire alarm went off 3 times, and I panicked! My husband called reception to ask what was going on, and he was told that it was a mistake...but it happened 3 times during my shower...imagine how scary that was?

It's a pretty glorious hotel, and I can imagine that in its heyday it would have been exceptional, though also much more expensive in all fairness. Unfortunately, I was given a pretty poor room that was nestled in a corner behind a fire escape, resulting in poor lighting and a dark room. The window was also drafty and was inadequate defence against the noise of the road. The bed didn't really fit in the room, and the mattress was similarly oddly too small for the bed so I knocked my leg against it a few times as I squeezed my way to the window or the wardrobe. The television was also unusually restrictive in options by hotel standards. I don't expect much, but the channel selection was well below average, let alone other features like smart TVs. I did think the quality of the fittings, bedframe and TV aside, was excellent and the bathroom was really quite good. I also really appreciated having a small fridge to use, this is a big plus for me.The problem is, this is a single room which they've squeezed a bed that is too big into. I really wanted to leave a good review for such a unique hotel, but given the poor room I was given, I'm unable to do so.

The bed didn't really fit in the room, and the mattress was similarly oddly too small for the bed so I knocked my leg against it a few times as I squeezed my way to the window or the wardrobe. The television was also unusually restrictive in options by hotel standards. I don't expect much, but the channel selection was well below average, let alone other features like smart TVs. I did think the quality of the fittings, bedframe and TV aside, was excellent and the bathroom was really quite good. I also really appreciated having a small fridge to use, this is a big plus for me.The problem is, this is a single room which they've squeezed a bed that is too big into. I really wanted to leave a good review for such a unique hotel, but given the poor room I was given, I'm unable to do so.

It's great that old Hotels like this exist and Crowne have taken on its custody. However, a basic tenant of a hotel is that guests can get some sleep. In the case of this hotel it is severely impacted by the noise from the always busy dual carriage next to the property which the old sash windows cannot keep out. Each night i woke in the early hours to the noise and struggled to get back to sleep. There's other areas for improvement around the hotel such as the water fountain not working on the gym and whist the breakfast is sufficient it's not yet to the high standards of other crowne plazas that i have stayed in. The hotel location is a bit of of the way and a good 20-25 walk into the main city area and unfortunately takes you through a bit of a rough area. Would i stay there again? Maybe. The place just needs a bit more 'love' showing towards it.

A beautiful old building, we stayed in one of the junior suites which was comfy, spacious and very well equipped. The windows are old, so you can hear the traffic outside and there was a draught. We simply put the heating on in the room and we had a great night’s sleep.

Really good hotel. Very comfortable and clean. Staff are excellent and the service was superb. We can also highly recommended the breakfast. Only one issue really is that the sauna is self service so you would have to wait 20 minutes for it to warm up. Small complaint jn yhe scheme of things.

Staff were amazing, food absolutely delicious, thank you to the restaurant manager and Ewan. Unfortunately a few groups were around with limitations to the bar ‘Prom night’, which vastly reduced where to socialise. The elevator is quite small and dated )a new one is in construction). Access for wheelchair/scooter very limited, the doors need to be a both way action, trying to pull a door towards you was a struggle whilst driving the scooter.

We had a very comfortable one night stay. Shout out to Sienna at Reception for the lovely and efficient welcome when we first arrived (she was able to allow us to check in early, she asked why we were visiting and was knowledgeable). The next day we had breakfast and shout out to Purna, Alfie and the whole team. GREAT JOB. They all were crazy busy but so efficient and helpful. THANK YOU. oh and we didn't know how to use the room safe and 2 people kindly helped. Nothing was too much bother for anyone. THANK YOU and keep up the great service.

Recent investment has clearly raised the standard throughout the hotel. Facilities look refreshed and well maintained. Staff were exceptional — friendly, professional and attentive. Some of the best service we’ve experienced; every team member we met went out of their way to help. Evening meal was very good and clearly made from fresh ingredients. My wife and I both had the steak: cooked perfectly and served with proper home‑cooked chips — a real treat. Parking is safe, convenient and easy to access, which made arrival and departures stress‑free. Because of this experience we’ll be visiting Sheffield more often for both leisure and business. Our colleagues and I now plan to use Crowne Plaza Royal Victoria Sheffield as our preferred hotel while working in the city. Highly recommended for quality accommodation, excellent service and reliably good food.

On arrival, the reception staff were warm and welcoming, and clearly explained the hotel, breakfast, bar area etc. they also advised that there was a function on that night and so the main area was closed to us (residents of the hotel). we were never advised about function before our arrival, as this did impact on our stay. the noise could be heard while we tried to sleep. The room was cold and the bathroom extremely cold, and only just got something like ok when the temperature was set at 30 degrees C. although the room was clean, the building requires a lot of work, the windows are old and the frames showing decay (wood) with draughts. On the first morning at breakfast, the main eating area was full and chaotic, and we ended up in an extension room which was reasonably quiet. The staff were great but the food was average, the exception being the hash browns. The second night, although we wasn't informed, there was another function in the main room, again with no access to it, and again noise nuisance while trying to sleep.

Check in was easy, parking was plentiful, room was lovely and clean and well set out with plenty of light and plug sockets. Sohail the Restaurant Manager was a brilliant host and definitely in the right job. Definitely would book again without hesitation.

I've stayed at a lot of hotels, the Crowne Plaza at Sheffield has offered the best service i have ever experienced. Not only was Nicky hospitable and a great host, she helped the family with the luggage from the car to the room, offered us a bigger room because we had children and was very hospitable with our children. Nicky went out of her way to ensure we were happy and settled, at one point, she arranged for some medication to be collected from the pharmacy for my child. I also witnessed her being brilliant with other guests, and a very friendly manner, going above and beyond with ensuring guests are happy. All if the staff were brilliant, we were late for breakfast, but they allowed us to eat in the bar area and were accomodating. The hotel itself was brilliant, full of character and was recently updated. The facilities were also brilliant, bath/shower, bidet, safe, fridge and extras included. Needless to say, the reviews speak for themselves and I would definitely recommend the Crowne Plaza. Affordable, Beautifully decorated and AMAZING staff.

Property is wonderful, clean comfortable rooms. Incredible staff and amazing restaurants. I felt very comfortable there and would recommend. Only drawback is the area - although it is where many hotels are situated. It isn't the best area for walking, other restaurants, cafe's etc.

Had some food from the bar menu and enjoyed it. Bar service a little slow with one pint poured badly. Service improved as the evening went on. Room was very comfortable although tv looked like it was about to fall off the wall. Aircon was working thank god. Breakfast was plentiful but a mixture of cool, lukewarm and hot items wasn’t the best but was starving so powered my way through it.

we dined in restaurant 3 nights on the sunday the food had to be sent back the steak was undercooked when it was asked to be well done the chips were undercooked An additional leafy salad ordered was a handful of dry rocket ,so different from the previous delicious meals ,We were told it was a different chef that night and the servers were so apologetic and although we received a discounted meal it did mar some what the enjoyment of our stay other than that it was excellent,

Reception team is very good, easy and friendly check in and out, great chatting with Klaudia on the check out. Dinning was slightly different, my starter (hake) was not good, had a smell of ammonia, didn’t eat as it didn’t seem to be in good condition, we didn’t get a check back on the starters and when I told the young waitress that the hake was not good, nobody checked with us and the issue didn’t get acknowledged or a simple apology was made, when I said that it had a ammonia smell and taste the reply was “ok”. My cousin’s main “aubergine” was hard to take of the skin, taste was good just a little under, no biggie there just some feedback. The rest of the meal was good, the chicken main and the desserts were very nice. Table maintenance was a little of hit and miss, at one stage we had 8 glasses on a table of 2 guests, doesn’t matter to be honest we just settled them on the side ledge for the rest of the meal, i hope you don’t take the comments as harsh, just honest feedback that I believe you should be aware of. For the money that you mark your restaurant up, needs a little better care Again thank you, reception team an absolute credit to your team (everyone we dealt with) and the hotel and facilities were very clean. Visited for 3 nights while attending Tramlines Festival. Beautiful building which has been lovingly restored. Staff friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and had everything we needed including air conditioning, fridge, iron and ironing board and well stocked tea tray. Bed was comfortable with a nice firm mattress. Although compact the bathroom had a great shower and bath. Towels and robes were large, fluffy and soft.

We stayed for 2 nights for tramlines 2026. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, We had a lovely room with a great view of the city, parking was a good price, and just 10 minutes walk from town. The breakfast was great too, set us up for the day. Staff were super friendly, the chef's omelettes were amazing!
