Decent hotel, car park needs major refurbishment, although it’s not the hotels fault as I understand it’s council owned, but mind you don’t damage your car when using. As it looks like bomb damage from world war 2 that hasn’t been repaired, the tv needs to repositioned, wardrobe in the way when sitting in bed. Can’t understand why this hasn’t been addressed, evening meal was excellent, staff attentive and friendly, however cheapest bottle of wine £23, come on you can do better than that Brewers fayre just down the road, £11.80, overall decent but a little expensive especially as it’s low season, one point, its a thing I always expect was never asked how our stay was on check out, all very friendly etc but please enquirer with the guest if the stay was ok.

This hotel is nicely placed on the seafront, the rooms are excellent and the on-suit bathroom was very well appointed with nice clean crisp white towels. The hotel described free parking which it is just at the back of the hotel, unfortunately it is also a public car park so spaces are limited on warm sunny days, so we hade to drive and park elsewhere, it would have been better if the description had stated this as it was a major factor in choosing this hotel.

The room was fair, the plug in the bathroom sink didn’t work, the bedside light was a bit dodgy. There were too many stairs for my bad knees, especially carrying a case down.

The hotel room was lovely but £187 for one night (booked last minute and arriving at 5pm) and not incl breakfast was a bit much. It was just me and my partner and dinner finished earlier than 7pm, last orders at the bar were 8.30pm… Breakfast finished at 9.30am and there was a £14.95pp charge for it. Bit steep onto of the room rate.

When checking in I met Abby, she was just lovely and had upgraded me to a double room, she carried my case and showed me to the room in the annex. The room was clean but in need of some updating, the toilet seat was very loose so every time I sat down it slipped to one side. Good shower but the bathroom really needed some tlc. The bed was the hardest I have ever slept on felt like laying on a board and with a damaged shoulder I didn’t get a very good sleep. I had a light lunch and breakfast and both were very good and this could not be faulted. All staff I met were very nice and friendly.

Highly recommend the restaurant. Very nice food, I had a fantastic ribeye steak, although the full English breakfast was sparse. The room was basic with budget fixtures and fittings in the bathroom ( I’m a plumber) and the basin plus was broken making it difficult to wet shave. When I reported the basin issue I got the impression they already knew about it. The whole place is spotlessly clean and tidy. The staff are a credit to the business.

We were pleased with this hotel. We arrived about 2.30pm for an overnight stay and breakfast the following morning. Our room was clean, and reasonably spacious. The bathroom was very good with a great overhead rain shower and tub. The bed was reasonably comfortable and extra pillows were available.The room was at the back of the hotel and quiet at night as away from the road though without the sea view. Breakfast was mixed - the dining area was nice but my wife had to ask for her poached egg to be recooked as it was overdone and my toast was forgotten. The quality of the breakfast ingredients was okay but not high end. We felt overall the price was fair for what we received. There is a free public car park behind the hotel but it does fill up when people are going to the beach. There is also nearby free street parking.

Lovely stay overall. Room was comfortable, functional, everything worked well, nice shower and it was quiet so I slept well. Staff were, as has been mentioned in many reviews, lovely and super friendly. Breakfast - continental was fab (particularly nice granola, yoghurt & toppings), coffee is good with lots of refills. Cooked breakfast - one day it was lovely (poached egg and avo on toast), the other day my scrambled eggs were like bullets (like trying to scoop up hard peas on your fork) with not much flavour, not so nice, but the smoked salmon was fresh and tasty. Parking behind the hotel was plentiful, free and well located. As an FYI for your packing purposes, they provide a shower gel in the shower (which doubles as a 2-in-1 to incl. shampoo) and a hand wash - so take your own shampoo, conditioner, body lotion etc. Not an issue at all, i just like to know what is already there and it's not listed obviously anywhere - I saw it on a video. Hairdryer is provided (and works well, it's a separate dryer - not one of those old on-wall attachments, so that's great.) For a single room there was plenty of space to put your stuff in drawers / hang up / surfaces etc. A little less so in the bathroom but still enough for one. Great overall.

I stayed at this little hotel a few years ago for work, thats why I returned. The staff are still lovely and friendly and the room spotlessly clean. Bar and outside seating area great too. My room was freezing cold though and the double glazed window faulty, so it was draughty too. I sat in my room with a dressing gown over my clothes and bed socks on. I did say when i checked out - and the receptionist said if i had phoned down they would have put some heating on for me. Unfortunately, there was nothing in the room saying that ! The heating was already on in the bar and restaurant though so they must have realised what a cold BH it was ! I dont like complaining.

I had a room on the front which was very small and i found it very hot with no way of controlling the temperature, i opened the window which made it very noisy...i did not sleep at all as there were people talking and arguing outside the property at 2.30am and people walking up and down stairs .... Although it was clean and bed was comfortable i would not stay again

Booked for two nights as we were attending a wedding. Lovely, good sized clean hotel room in the anex. Quite location on the sea front. Very good breakfast. Would have liked to have stayed for lunch as it looked very nice and had a good reputation. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Would stay again and consider their dinner, bed and breakfast package.

Hotel well positioned on sea front, good choice of food and well stocked bar. All staff were excellent. Room a reasonable size with good size bathroom. Only one detraction was the room was oh so hot! Admittedly it was an etremely hot couple of days.

I’ve stayed at the Camelia many times and always have a wonderful stay. The team there are beyond friendly and nothing is too much trouble. A real home from home. I can’t recommend this hotel enough.

Jamie and the team are always so kind and generous when I stay. Nothing is too much trouble, and they go the extra mile to ensure everything is taken care of. The rooms are generous in size, with a cosy feel to them, the food is excellent and the ambience couldn't be nicer.

Nice room, friendly staff, good newly fitted bathroom. Food in the resturant good but service very slow. Waited 25 mins for chessboard after main course. Same at breakfast, food good but very slow service/delivery. Shame as it spoiled an otherwise good experience

This was my second visit and the service was even better than last time when it was exemplary. From the moment we arrived the staff could not do enough to help us. They even helped me with the bags because my husband is less abled. They were very attentive and went the extra mile to ensure our stay was memorable. The icing on the cake was having the cases taken to the car when we departed. We will definitely be back there when we next book a show at Cliffs Pavilion as it is so convenient. Many thanks to the Management and staff

Decided to spend the weekend to celebrate our anniversary. What a great choice in selecting the Camelia. From the moment of entering the property you were made to feel welcome and an ease of check in and shown to room. We were in room 19 which is on the ground floor at the back of the property overlooking a lovely little courtyard. Spacious double room, spotlessly clean and a great overhead shower. Great breakfast and agin the staff were immaculate in presentation and service. Would highly recommend

This hotel is nicely placed on the seafront, the rooms are excellent and the on-suit bathroom was very well appointed with nice clean crisp white towels. The hotel described free parking which it is just at the back of the hotel, unfortunately it is also a public car park so spaces are limited on warm sunny days, so we hade to drive and park elsewhere, it would have been better if the description had stated this as it was a major factor in choosing this hotel.

Booked for two nights as we were attending a wedding. Lovely, good sized clean hotel room in the anex. Quite location on the sea front. Very good breakfast. Would have liked to have stayed for lunch as it looked very nice and had a good reputation. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Would stay again and consider their dinner, bed and breakfast package.

Smashing relaxed hotel. Easy parking outside and was a breeze to check in with lovely staff Room was lovely, comfortable with a great view. Dinner was amazing and the menu extensive. Staff again were great and speedy service. Some good beers on tap too Breakfast was amazing! I will definitely be back

Excellent hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, comfortable room with good selection of tea and coffee. Really good restaurant with great menu. Enjoyed sitting out on the decking with a glass of wine!

Lovely stay overall. Room was comfortable, functional, everything worked well, nice shower and it was quiet so I slept well. Staff were, as has been mentioned in many reviews, lovely and super friendly. Breakfast - continental was fab (particularly nice granola, yoghurt & toppings), coffee is good with lots of refills. Cooked breakfast - one day it was lovely (poached egg and avo on toast), the other day my scrambled eggs were like bullets (like trying to scoop up hard peas on your fork) with not much flavour, not so nice, but the smoked salmon was fresh and tasty. Parking behind the hotel was plentiful, free and well located. As an FYI for your packing purposes, they provide a shower gel in the shower (which doubles as a 2-in-1 to incl. shampoo) and a hand wash - so take your own shampoo, conditioner, body lotion etc. Not an issue at all, i just like to know what is already there and it's not listed obviously anywhere - I saw it on a video. Hairdryer is provided (and works well, it's a separate dryer - not one of those old on-wall attachments, so that's great.) For a single room there was plenty of space to put your stuff in drawers / hang up / surfaces etc. A little less so in the bathroom but still enough for one. Great overall.

Highly recommend the restaurant. Very nice food, I had a fantastic ribeye steak, although the full English breakfast was sparse. The room was basic with budget fixtures and fittings in the bathroom ( I’m a plumber) and the basin plus was broken making it difficult to wet shave. When I reported the basin issue I got the impression they already knew about it. The whole place is spotlessly clean and tidy. The staff are a credit to the business.

The hotel room was lovely but £187 for one night (booked last minute and arriving at 5pm) and not incl breakfast was a bit much. It was just me and my partner and dinner finished earlier than 7pm, last orders at the bar were 8.30pm… Breakfast finished at 9.30am and there was a £14.95pp charge for it. Bit steep onto of the room rate.

Unfortunately i have broken my knee the day before and asked to simply reschedule they said no so hotels .com asked them if i could change name instead ,they said yes so when i rang the hotel they then said no was very unsympathetic and cut the call short with no sympathy help or advice rude i spent £160 for nothing will never book here again and will steer people away as much as possible
