We enjoyed our stay due to the proximity of Lake Guntersville! The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. I booked the room through Hotels.com. The hotel is in the beginning stages of a complete renovation which is definitely needed to compete with other hotels in the area. I was given a handicap room on the 1st floor which I did not request. I was offered another room after I questioned them about the room. I love the area and would love to visit again when the renovation is complete.

Yes the breakfast is fresh the room was clean but bathroom I think have a little mold around the shower at the bottom of the tiles we were supposed to get a handicap room we first got there put it on the third floor was not handicap once someone was stuck on the 4th floor on the elevator had to go to the stairs hello to get our pet fire department came out finally got the people out of the elevator the lady on the shift from 3:00 to 11:00 was very nice swapped a room out to a handicap room on the first floor which is what it's supposed to spend to begin with when I first checked in they said we had a handicap room and put us a third floor that was not true that was not a handicap room but the lady on the 311 shift on the 22nd was very nice and swapped her room out for us and gave us a handicap room that was a good thing and the food they charge for a pet for $75 for one little four-lb dog it's ridiculous

Desk attendant was extremely nice, answered questions that we had in a friendly manner, and was overall a sweet person. Hallway and room had bad odor. I’m sensitive to smells so it was unsettling. Room was clean and comfortable. Cleaning staff were also very sweet and helpful. The only issue that I had was the smell. Overall a nice stay.

Our room was on the 3rd floor, construction going on and the walls were stripped of wallpapper revealing the black mold all through out the floor. Especially around the intake vents. We asked for help moving and were acommadated with a room at a sister newer hotel.

We've stayed here several times, its a good place to stay. Queen beds have always been comfortable, but the king bed we had was extremely hard. Always clean, decent breakfast, and friendly staff. Definitely will stay again.

I reserved 1 room with 2 queens beds and upon checking in I was given my key and when i entered my room it was 1 king bed. Not what i reserved-i went back to the front desk and informed the employee Chris that he gave me the wrong room because I reserved 2 double beds. Chris then stated “oh you booked through Expedia and although you reserved 2 queen beds they put you in whatever they want you to have” I said how is that possible because if i wanted a king i would’ve reserved just that. I went to 3 other hotels and to no availability I ended back up at the Hampton Inn in a room I didn’t reserve. I contacted Expedia and was informed that they did not change my reservation as the employee Chris had told me. So it was midnight and they (Expedia) were trying to find me another room but I was exhausted, pissed off with a child and i refused to pack everything back up and go to another hotel and then that reservation not be available. I am pissed at Hampton Inn and Expedia because it was ridiculous.

The general manager Mandy was absolutely amazing. Her staff was also. The beds were very comfortable and clean. Breakfast and the coffee were great. The homemade cookies they had by the coffee were a great treat.

If you cannot make the first night of your reservation, even if you paid for it, be sure to call and tell them you will be there the second night because they will give away your room the next night and leave you stranded like they did my family. The woman at the front desk offer no assistance, but plenty of attitude. Will never stay here again.

The bird infestation was troubling. Our view of the lake wasn't as pleasant as my last visit due to all the bird poop on the window. Otherwise everything else was fine. A little TLC on the peeling wall paper is needed. The staff in the breakfast area were exceptional.

We always have a great time here. We always feel welcome, good breakfast and everyone is so nice. This time they were remodeling and the 4th floor did not look good at all but hopefully next time we stay here they’ll be better than before.
