If coming to inn by the sea. I would recommend a small vehicle for parking. We had with us a Newer F150 and had trouble finding parking even after paying the 20.00 a night for parking. It's not guaranteed unless you have a compact or a small vehicle that can fit in the parking garage

The hotel itself was okay. Solid 3 stars. What I didn't like was that they had drained the pool and were repairing it, and didn't bother to email us to tell us in advance. I chose this hotel over another one that was closer to the beach but had no pool. They had obviously started work on the pool well before we got there, and could have emailed us that the pool was under repair. I would have chosen another hotel.

Low key, no frills but very comfortable and convenient. Great location to walk to the Cove, shops, restaurants. Easy parking. Good bed. No restaurant or gym on property and the pool was under renovation. Cute lobby with snacks and beverages you can purchase. Very well priced for the area. Would definitely return and recommend.

The stay was nice but was disappointed when told at check in that the pool was closed for repairs. Had I known this I wouldn’t have stayed there. The website should have had a banner stating the pool’s condition.

Pool area was under repair. Supposedly, to be finished by Memorial Day. Highly unlikely. Lining of pool needs concrete repair and then replaster pool. Then needs to dry, cure, and be refilled. Our opinion....might be done 4th of July. No mention on website. Rates should be discounted due to lack of notice that pool was out of order. Otherwise, hotel is central but off main street. Quiet street and dining within a few blocks of hotel. Hotel is pristine.

It is a beautiful family run hotel. Clean with paid parking and a beautiful view. The 24 hour lounge was lovely as was the pool. The staff was attentive and the elevators face the reception desk so I felt quite safe. They even provided loaner umbrellas! The pass for a local gym is included and easily walkable. The guest upstairs unfortunately drove us away early because he was live streaming in the middle of the night and slamming the balcony door.

Gym is two blocks away offsite, parking fee is extra $20/ day. No bar or on site food. It is an old motel in the process of being updated into a higher end facility. Ocean view room we thought we reserved was not available. But, the location is excellent and the price ok. They try hard and upgrades are in progress. Staff was great.

Loved staying here as a stop on a road trip -- the laundry, well stocked vending machine room, all day coffee, and walking distance to a lot of things in La Jolla were very much appreciated. My go to place next time I pass through.

Love the location of the hotel. A few blocks walking to the beach. Restaurants and cafés nearby. Room was damp and smelled damp, but I don’t think that can be helped. I enjoy the coffee that is available in the lounge. Staff is friendly and helpful.

No hot water at all for periods of time including the morning of departure. The bathroom door had some brown stuff across the bottom when I arrived and was missed at cleaning. I stayed 3 nights. I live 4 blocks away and have my condo to my son and family for the weekend, so I was exploring for a way to invite family.

Found blood on my pillows and bed sheets, then the staff made me replace my own bedding once I brought up the issue and gave my son whole a free orange crush as compensation. Absolutely disgusted and Terrible… good luck with this place… email me anytime, I chose to go lightly on my review… it’s gets much much worse

The room was clean and comfortable. However, my room was right next to the elevator, which I could hear. Also, I was on the second floor, and my "balcony" - which was also right next the elevator (there are 2) - faced a landing and parking lot. It was not worth using.

You could see a tiny glimpse of the ocean. Room needed lots of help..wall paper bubbled and peeling, bathroom hinges rusty, gouges in ceiling, missing caulking in bathroom, no shower soap or gel only two bottles of shampoo which we used to shower. For the cost per night it was definitely disappointing.

At check-in, the girl wasn't very friendly at all. She seemed very bothered. The older blonde lady was nice. The towels in the room are very rough and small. They definitely need new fluffier and larger towels. The walls are paper thin. We could hear EVERYRHING going on in the other room. I did appreciate the coffee station. Location was convenient to all nearby activities. I think next time I'll try somewhere different.

The first floor rooms are terrible because the ceiling to floor windows open out onto the parking lot. One has to keep the black out curtains drawn for privacy so the rooms have no natural light.

Amazing location. Getting an even number room on top floor is awesome to have ocean view Rooms are a little tired. Plumbing is loud and noisy kids next door could be heard loudly. Staff kind. Parking easy. I have gone back couple times because it’s clean and comfortable and I love the location. But it’s not luxurious or beautiful.

I stayed an ocean view room, and enjoyed the South West side of ocean views! I also enjoyed the North West side of ocean views at the veranda, too! No ocean view at the west side because of a building.

Room next to me was very nosy starting 11pm on August 25 and call front desk but noise was still there .then called police at 1am&3am because of noise and hotel only gave me credit of $40gor parking and was Expecting more discount from hotel ..1st time had noise problem and specially on Monday night hotel moved me to another room for 2nd&3rd night .i will never stay in room 109 again

This was a super convenient location in beautiful La Jolla. Just 2 block down to the beach and to dining and shopping. The interior has recently received a fresh modern update. I enjoyed the pool area, including the Guest amenities center where you can get tea or coffee anytime of day and filtered water. A real plus. The only thing I would recommend is elevating the bathroom soap products. Otherwise, a great value and experience.

Centrally located. Easy to walk to shops, restaurants and the beach. Comfortable room and a heated pool. The coffee area by the pool was great for the mornings. The staff was excellent and helpful when called upon. The $20 parking fee per night was well worth it to me.

This is a more affordable option for this pricey area. We were here for a wedding, so wanted to keep the price down. Hotel was very clean, housekeeping every other day. Didn’t have food onsite but had option of a local restaurant to bring in room service. Also had coupons for local places for discounts. Coffee available in the lobby every morning, and a guest service room with coffee/cocoa and tea plus vending machines 24 hours/day!
