Holiday Inn Long Beach - Airport by IHG

A little run down. Only one elevator was working, which wouldn’t be a problem if the airport wasn’t by the hotel but it is a very very busy hotel with at Least 12 floors so you can imagine the wait time when the bar and restaurant are at the very top (15-20 minutes) Pool is not heated, so could not get in it and hot tub was at a minimum amount of warmth. Peelable wallpaper was peeling off the hotel elevator, and because it was being used so much it smelled like body odor Went to the bar and the service was not terrible, but the wait time was long ….ordered Two drinks at the same time, one arrived within five minutes the other was a 15+ minute wait. the place was not overwhelmingly busy so I don’t understand why drinks came a separate time, as they were equally easy to make…but we ended up not ordering food there because the drink wait was more than we wanted. The restaurant, however, was a nice place and the food smelled good. The air conditioning also was excellent in the room, but other than that, the hotel is pretty rundown and needs a facelift. We did try to use the stairs and not wait for the elevator but once down to the bottom floor from floor number 10, the doors would not open so we had to go back up and wait on the third floor for an elevator, which took another 5 to 10 minutes. No signs to pool. They also do not inform you that the ice machines in the entire hotel did not work, except for the one on the main floor. So we ended up going to the gas station.

Rooms are clean and well maintained

The Penthouse restaurant and bar is amazing!

Room 910 is very loud, you hear the freeway all night. Tub was dirty and gross. The last night a huge flying cockroach landed on my face as I went to bed.

No. First room had a HUGE cockraoch crawling around on the bathroom floor (I took a picture), so I immediately got a new room. I'm thsnkful I checked out the first room before moving my bags in. The hotel in general is very old-looking inside. Overall, it gives the vibe of some sort of shelter, not a nice hotel. I normally stay at a location closer to LB Airport but it was full as were most of the hotels in that area for that night. So, I chose this hotel by default. I will never stay there again. I had my litle niece with me and even she was disappointed. She knows what's nice & what isn't.
