One night stay, appears to be older motel, but nicely updated. It has character. We enjoyed the small patios that are in front of the rooms and gave a nice area to visit and weather was perfect. Rooms are nice, no frills, but bed was comfortable. Room was quite, until morning. Definitely not able to sleep in due to everybody rolling there bags by your room on outdoor cement walk and kids running by. My only real complaint was parking, which is under the hotel and very compact. We have a full size SUV and many spots are only 6 ft clearance that we were unable to use. Others are 7 ft. Spots are tight and run the risk of somebody dinging your car with their door. Luckily we did not drive my full size truck as it would have not fit. Nice location, close to Stanford medical, multiple restaurants and shopping. All in all nice stay and would stay again. Loved the old school feel of motel.

Room was not clean, even though we were an hour past check-in. We had to wait 30 minutes for it to be cleaned. The room decor was cheap looking. The water pressure in the shower was very poor. The swimming pool was not clean. The front desk people were very friendly and tried to be helpful, but there wasn't much they could do.

As others have stated, this is not the cleanest place. There were hairs in the sheets and on the bathroom counter. The washer is not working, when asked they said it is being fixed. Staying for three days and it was not repaired, they should not say they have a washer.

The parking spaces are not for pickups. Stock Silverado hit the roof. No signage visible at night. Everything else was great. But I'm stuck with expensive repairs.

A very peaceful and quiet place to stay. The rooms are very clean and spacious. My only concerns were that this is not a good place for people with mobility issues. There is one tiny elevator that is not that visible at first. The bathrooms are not equipped with bars or safety mats. The other concern is that the property is not very visible from the street, and is easy to miss. The parking is underground, and some of the spaces will not work for tall vehicles. On the other hand, the hotel is very conveniently located. It is very close to Stanford Medical Center, shopping centers, and restaurants. I am a person with mobility issues, so I am not sure if I would stay here again. If you don't have mobility issues, then this is a great place to stay!

I don’t like the smell of strong and old smell of chlorine! Quite strong smell of chlorine inside the room. Overpowering bright light at the sink need to turn down the bright light.

The staff was welcoming and the rooms were clean. The noise was an issue with windows open but less when closed. The primary reason I would not stay again is the uncomfortable beds. Mattress is too hard, linens stiff and scratchy, pillows flat and hard. Sadly, beds are a dealbreaker.

Thermostat was turned off when I arrived and the room was very cold. It took some time to warm up. Also lukewarm water in the shower both mornings of my stay. Disappointing. Great location, however.

It was clean and priced fairly. The rooms are on the smaller side but it was clean and comfortable. Parking is a little tight, if you have a trailer there’s no room for that onsite.

I regret to leave this slightly negative review here. On the last day before check-out, my room was not cleaned. One clerk explained that it was due to the system being down, while another told me they don’t offer cleaning the day before check-out. These inconsistent explanations were a bit confusing and frustrating. A manager assured me they would be in touch to resolve the issue, but unfortunately I haven't received the follow-up. I’m sorry to leave this message here, but I hope the hotel can work on improving its communication and service.

Second time I"ve stayed there. Despite the doors facing the outside, I feel safe and it's so clean and modern. Staff are generous and kind. The free breakfast is amazing. Robot coffee machine and waffles...and a breakfast steward to help you with anything you might need.

There is supposed to be a 24 hour desk but nobody answers the phone or returns calls. Maybe there is a desk there but no person. Info said check-in is til midnight. We couldn’t make it by then. I called at 10:00 to say we would be late and was that ok. No answer. I had to call the national 800 number, they called the motel. We were delayed another full hour waiting for confirmation our room would be there. If the room is paid for what does it matter how late we are. Would you refund us for the non-use of the room? Terrible service.

Cons: We arrived at 2pm after a long day of travel. The front desk asked us to pay $25 for early check-in because check-in is not until 3pm. It was a terrible first impression and made the hotel feel like they wanted to get every last penny. The first night we stayed there they were repaving the road in front of the hotel. Beeping, crunching and vibrating all night. Pros: The woman in charge of breakfast was lovely, very friendly, and great at her job. The rooms were very clean.

Staff were friendly & rooms clean. The beds weren’t the best and frames a little cheap. They made a lot of noise with any movement. There was night construction which was pretty loud from our room. The breakfast was decent and staff very attentive to the food and cleanliness.

Right next to the mall, and there are quiet paths you can take to Downtown Palo Alto and some great restaurants. The hotel is fine, it’s a standard Best Western. It’s a shame it looks out on El Camino and not on some of the parks or campus around. The old-style elevator is cute, and our kids loved the waffle breakfast; the staff were very helpful with them using the waffle maker. Oh yeah, the coffee is terrible, but Bluebottle is a short walk away in the mall.
