Check in was great very friendly polite. 10pm at night. Get to room, room smelt moldy stale air. The flooring was lifting off the floor. We wore white socks, our socks were black. During dinner time 5pm we brought McDonald’s to the hotel and were going to sit in the lobby, plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. Rude bartender, stated you can not eat here, go outside all the way to end of the wall second fire pit, or your room you can’t eat here. Front desk gentleman said yea, you can’t eat here, CA law. Glad we checked out and left didn’t stay another night.

I reported that the door handle on my room door was about to fall apart, and the front desk said that their maintenance guy “might” come in that day, and if he did they would have him fix it, or they would move me to a new room. Well, I was gone during the day and when I came back the door was not repaired, but I also had no follow up from the staff. I was there for two nights. The sliding bathroom barn door had difficulties staying closed, and the bathroom towel ring had left significant ring dents in the drywall and looked pretty shabby. The toilet handle was busted, and I wondered with every flush if it was going to be the one that snapped the cheap plastic in half. Based on my door handle experience I didn’t even bother reporting it. Last but not least, the satellite dish kept losing signal for significant amounts of time, due to some rain. One of these things alone would not be a big deal, but collectively (along with the poor service from the front desk, it makes for a bad stay and a bad review. I probably could have mustered the will to engage the front desk again, but my will was broken when I checked in and talked to the front desk about the price difference between Horels.com and Bonvoy. I would have like to book on Bonvoy for my points, and she didn’t seem to care or want to provide any details or care as to why Bonvoy wouldn’t match the price. I stayed at Best western last time and it was great there!

Emanuel was amazing upon our arrival. He was helpful, courteous and friendly. Our room was comfortable and very clean. It would be nice to have something out for a light breakfast. They do have a small restaurant with a limited menu that is pricey.

Rooms were reasonably clean. Did not get enough towels and had to ask for toilet paper, was not restocked. Cute presentation, but needs some upkeep. Overall not a bad deal.
