Inn at Occidental

Very nice place with a cozy feel no elevator for someone who might need one over all good service and friendly people

This place is beautiful, charming, and in a great location! Plus, it’s dog-friendly! If you’re a Gilmore Girls fan, you’ll definitely get a Stars Hollow vibe. The drive up to the inn was really cool with lots of tall trees that made you feel like you were in a forest. There is a quaint little main street with two convenience stores and a few restaurants, one of which was fantastic for breakfast! (Separate review for Howard’s Cafe.) We booked the Ivory room, and the rooms are reasonably priced. Our room was on the second floor and small but had some cute little armchairs in front of a fireplace and a wall A/C which was super useful for the warm or humid parts of the day. The view was of trees and the other parts of the property, so it felt private. The bathroom had a standing shower with pumps of body wash, shampoo, and conditioner on the shower wall. The place had old charm was but was clean and cozy. My only thing was that the bed was FIRM, which isn’t great for people with back issues. There also is only one mirror in the bathroom, so you’ll need to bring a smaller one for up-close face things. Otherwise, it was great! The inn is in the perfect location between the coast and wine country, so you can spend a few days and get the best of both worlds! Speaking of wine, the inn has wine tasting from 4pm to 7pm on the main level on a lovely outdoor patio, which we didn’t end up doing this trip, but will do next time. Highly recommended!

Host is super friendly and greet us upon arrival with welcome wine. A very cute boutique B&B In a historic town. We will definitely visit again!

They don’t provide slippers like other four stars hotel. It’s more like Airbnb, but overall I like the vibe and the beautiful garden. The breakfast was good, esp. the scramble eggs.

Charming gem in Russian River area. Superb breakfast, wine in the afternoon. Do not miss this venue.

It was a disappointing stay for us. The hotel looked charming from the outside, within walking distance to the quaint town of Occidental, however our room was in dire need of updating. The wall paint was stained and had chipped paint, the carpets looked worn out and stained as well. The adjuster on one of the blinds was broken so you had to open / close the blinds with the broken end. The wood stove, not fully functional I guess, was covered in dust and sitting on a dusty floor as well. We enjoyed the wine hour, they were generous with the pour. Breakfast was nothing special, just decent enough. We will not be back for sure. This property does not justify the nightly rates.

We so thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Inn at Occidental. The staff were warm and welcoming. The wine reception and expanded continental breakfast were really wonderful. The “expanded continental” included amazing bacon!

Best place in town to stay! Up the hill from all the people and traffic. Our faucet leaked a lot and caused some issues. Bed was a tad worn. However you cannot beat the ladies who run the place! Wonderful people and so helpful. Breakfast was good, and the dining room was charming. We were upgraded to a better room and that was wonderful.

The room and the property was outstanding. One word of caution, the shower has no grab bars and the shower tile floor is VERY slippery. Everything else was very nice.

Front check in woman was rude and basically lied about why an early check in was impossible. She stated that the workers are loud and would leave at 3pm, which they did not, the lower courtyard needed to be blown which that did not happen. She stated that she was unaware that I had a dog, it was stated on Expedia. Overall, a very unpleasant greet and welcome. Would not recommend this place primarily due to this woman!

Lovely weekend stay. Good breakfast. Walkable everywhere for dinner, grocery store and hardware store. Cute shops close by. Staff were nice to make you comfortable.

We were both very happy with our stay! The accommodations were excellent and the local restaurants are also excellent. The local shops and restaurants are easily within walking distance.

Wonderful, relaxing weekend in the wine country. Will be going back again for sure!

Love the Occidental Inn. Charming place, great breakfast, quiet town of Occidental is a great jumping off point for Russian River and Sonoma wine country.

Honestly, the coffee wasn’t great. Everything else was terrific!
