Comfortable hotel with a perfect location. Good breakfast sele. Nice pool and hot tub. Would stay again and recommend.

It was a good room, we enjoyed staying where we got our own private balcony which was perfect for my daughter. However, the hot tub was green without any sign of its safety status to use or not, that made the visit inconvenient for my family. The pool was at an okay temperature where I was actually able to enjoy a nice swim with my family which made up the inconvenience.

Good value a few blocks from the beach. Breakfast was ample ( served 7 to 10 am) and removed very promptly at ten. Specialty coffee machine and lots of hot and cold options. Nice sunny breakfast area with lots of tables. Staff friendly except for fellow at check in who was a bit curt. Rooms have balconies and a functioning safe and small fridge. Nicely decorated with a bit of colour. Rooms get serviced every other day but towels and coffee are available on request. Small warm pool and hot tub, open from 10-10. Would recommend for the reasonable price point too.

Hotel was nice and clean and excellent location. Downside was we were located right in front of the pool and people stayed in the hot tub chatting til nearly 11:30pm and it was loud. Otherwise great stay

For the price, this hotel was a disappointment. The pool and hot tub were small. The room was small and unimpressive. It's a somewhat elevated 2-star motel with a 4-star hotel price.

A lot of things. Pool was not clean. Left a film on my body. Hot tub was full of bubbly stuff. In the room, the bathroom door would not even half close. The door needs to be shaven off on the bottom. Some of the walls were dirty. Breakfast items were not refilled and we were there mid breakfast time. It was not a quiet place. We could hear our neighbors conversations! We were disappointed since it was not cheap rate we received.

We checked into the hotel and went up to our room and went to get into bed and there was hair in the sheets under the sheets on the mattress cover on the down comforter there was no customer service at the front desk after 10 o’clock last night we were not allowed to have any water or ice. My husband asked and they said they’re closed. The manager told us today that the hotel lobby should’ve been open till 2 AM and that it was unacceptable. We couldn’t reach anybody from the hotel until 7 o’clock this morning so I spent the night sitting in a chair in my hotel room, and my husband laid on top of towels.

The room was clean (to start), the beds comfortable, decor was meh, jacuzzi dirty & the breakfast was fine. However, the first morning the toilet was gurgling. After a shower, the tub began to fill with disgusting waste. We told the front desk staff who said a supervisor would come while we were gone. Upon return a couple hours later, no one had been there. Then a housekeeper came with a plunger. I told the front desk staff the plunger would not solve the problem. She said they would take care if it. We left for several more hours & when we came back, the bathroom had been cleaned. However, after we used the toilet, putrid sewage filled the tub again! I had already emailed the GM & the supervisor with images of the issue. We spoke to a new front desk staff who came to look at the problem & called supervisor. We were offered his plunging services & a $100 credit as it was “too late” (4pm) to call a plumber. We said we couldn’t stay in a room with sewage and no facilities, he said there was nothing they could do. He called the supervisor back, who I was told I was not allowed to speak to, and we were offered a refund for the 2nd night. We were 300 miles from home, so we asked for help to find another hotel. After 1 hour of not finding a vacancy, a plumber came. It got fixed, but was dirty. The staff spent maybe 30 seconds to wipe it down. It wasn’t clean! It felt as if we were a bother. We never received an apology from anyone & never heard from mgmt; they gave us 1/3 refund.

I did not like the smell of sewage in my room or hallways noise from the employees talking super loud in the hallway. I did like the location.

Bath towel had black marks, possibly mascara. Sheers to to sliding glass door appeared to have mold near the bottom. Cleaning staff can be loud with rolling carts and talking loud early in the morning.

I visted Santa barbara in July and booked Avania Inn for two days of stay. I and my spouse checked in and were assigned room. The room smelled like urine. Most likely the guests stayed in the room before us had a pet. We immediately reported to the concierge and asked for another room. Instead, he was in denial and said that it it's the cleaning liquid smelling and not the Urine! Also, he said that he can't give us another room as they are fully booked (which turned out to be a lie) The cleaning lady came to the room and sprayed a very strong cleaning spray that made my nostrils dry and still the urine smell did not go away. This second time we realized we don't deserve to live here with room with Urine smell and very strong cleaning spray. We took our bags and went to the concierge for the check out.. This time the concierge said that it seems like a Urine smell and he can transfer us to a different room (THIS TIME THE HOTEL WAS NOT SOLD OUT!).. By this time we were so disappointed and frustrated with the Fraud we simply checked out.. The booking was through Expedia and we had pre-paid for two days. They did not refund us for the first day and they said that they might refund for the second day (the second day refund came through after three hours of constant calls and arguments at the reception) WHAT A WASTE OF TIME AND ENERGY! I DON'T at all recommend this place.

The hotel and room are pretty new. The service is good and professional. And they offers good breakfast and nice dining lobby. It is superb overall except the room smelled a little bit (the new-furnished smell).

There was food and broken plastic on the carpet when I checked into my room. I wear earplugs at night when I travel and it was still noisy, very thin walls between rooms. I felt like I was getting in the way of the staff during my stay just by existing, not like a welcome guest. I didn’t ask for anything and cleaned up the food on the carpet myself. TV and phone in room didn’t work. I have traveled all over the world and normally this would be fine for a more affordable hotel, however, $450 a night was outrageous for the quality. Positives: excellent location, easy parking and good water pressure in shower.

Overall, the Inn was good and in a very good location to walk to the beach with good parking. The lobby is immaculate and the breakfast was great. However, it is still an upgraded motel, with the doors opening to the parking lot, so it is noisy and not top of the line.

It is a great location to the beach. The pillows were lumpy and the sheets very thin. The bed was not comfortable. The breakfast was clean and well maintained, and a good selection. The room was very clean and the staff were very helpful.

This is a good all around property. If you need to use their wifi you may need to look elsewhere, spotty at best. If that's not a deal breaker than this is a good place to stay; walkable to both the beach and the downtown areas.

There’s nothing worse than having TV issues on vacation. Sent my husband to the office to get help with the TV because we could not access Netflix and they rudely began talking amongst themselves and told my husband it must be a Wi-Fi issue because there are too many people staying there. The phone in the room did not work and the air shut off in the middle of the night. The mattress was not comfortable either, and I woke up every hour. I normally don’t write reviews, but this one needed to be documented. Definitely would not stay here again.

Overall a pretty good experience but the only thing was out TV did not work at all and would only show one channel. It would not even let me login to Netflix. When speaking to front desk she stated that the TV issue was throughout all the rooms and that they were getting tech support but not until following day. Also we were on second floor and tenants above us were so loud with stomping.

I like that it’s a few blocks from the beach.i like that a 7-11 is a few blocks away to buy wine. And room had a mini fridge. Room was clean too and cute redecorated. But the walls are so thin I could hear my neighbors on all sides partying all night and cars coming and going in the parking lot feet from my bed. I like that I had a balcony but too bad basically in a parking spot with cars and people staring at me. There’s a park across the street but homeless people using the bathroom..

Many have left very good reviews of this place-we were not all that exited. The room smelled a little funny when we arrived, there was no one at the reception when we came. But the location is good, the room was ok, parking and check in/out very easy!

I expected a little more service for my money. The rooms are only made up every three days so you are using the same sheets and towels for 3 days. The staff was hard to locate. The only person who was available usually was the person at the front desk who also handled many other tasks. If you happened to have a room on the top floor at the far end of the hotel it was a long way to go to find out where the ice was!

Unpretentious place with clean rooms and ultra attentive staff. The beds were extremely comfortable. Location within an easy walk to wharf/harbor. Didn’t utilize pool but it looked a bit small. AC was OK but not great. Breakfast also good but could use some variety for those staying longer than 2 days. Would definitely stay again.

From the time of check and the staff was very helpful and restaurant recommendations the next morning at breakfast all of the staff that we’re working we’re on top of it. They were all busy filling things making sure everybody had everything that they needed especially in the mail working at the desk in the morning. He was a hard worker working fast and efficiently all while being kind and saying kind things to everyone he came across you don’t see good customer service like that anymore. The only negative thing that I would say and it’s been with many hotels and not much they can do about it but You can hear everybody above you all night long that legitimately is the only negative thing. Everything within their control was wonderful, clean helpful hard workers. The staff definitely need to be commended!

We love how easily walkable it was to the beach, the beach paths, the wharf and the harbor for a coffee in the mornings. We would absolutely stay here again! The morning breakfast staff were so great, I believe the gal named Marissa helped us multiple mornings and was super kind. The GM was also there most mornings and was always available for questions and make sure our stay was going great. Bed was really comfy and we loved having our little balcony to sit outside and enjoy lunch. Came back late on two nights as we were visiting for a wedding and the area felt very safe. We’d stay here again!

Review for Avania Inn of Santa Barbara We had a fantastic stay at Avania Inn! The location is absolutely perfect—just a short walk to the beach, harbour, and restaurants, making it easy to enjoy everything Santa Barbara has to offer. The rooms were spotlessly clean, very comfortable, and well-equipped with plenty of amenities. From the cosy beds to the little extras that made the stay more convenient, everything was thoughtfully arranged. Would definitely recommend and stay here again!

Room was big and had plenty of outlets. Very clean. Just 2 block walk to the beach. Had breakfast with cereal, pastry, toast, waffles, eggs, hash browns and sausage. Would stay here again. All the staff were super friendly

Very clean and newly refurbished room. Great location. Breakfast has a wider variety of items on a Friday and Saturday - less so the rest of the week. Staff are very pleasant and helpful. Really pleased we chose to stay here. The rating for eco-friendliness is lower as many breakfast items are single use and throw-away; however, that seems to be the norm on our trip with one exception
