Everything was VERY clean with updated fixtures. As soon as you walk in, everything looks beautiful. The downstairs bar and indoor garden with the fish pond are so pretty. The indoor pool looked great. The room was very nicely updated. I cannot think of anything bad about this place, except maybe -1 point for the mandatory, $40 expensive valet and -1 point for the sliding bathroom door which offers a bit less than privacy lol. The staff were very nice and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay very much and we will definitely be back!! Including a photo of the free beach access the street, about 1 mile away.

The hotel is beautiful. I was on the second floor and we had to go to the 3rd floor to get ice. The rooms are centered around the main lobby and the curtains in the living room area do not block out the lobby lights enough during the night. There is NO parking and the hotel charges $40 a day to valet park. Overall it was a very nice hotel and it is pet friendly which I appreciate.

If you drive a car, your only option to store your car is $40/day valet parking. While expensive and inconvenient, there were often long waits just to request your car. The pool was fairly cold and the hot tub was closed for half the time we were there. The nearest beach is very expensive and the hotel does not offer vouchers for that beach. Lastly, the standard for cleanliness of rooms was pretty low.

All good. The location is perfect. However, we thought the indoor pool would have been much warmer… it was pretty chilly. My wife and kids only went in the pool once and they love to swim. We’ll probably stay somewhere else unless the pool can be heated.

Parking is expensive and inconvenient. One should have the choice of parking your own car and not have to wait on someone to bring it to you. The cost is ridiculous since the price of the rooms is so high already. There is no additional that are not more costs. I am disappointed considering Embassy Suites is the original hotel and they know how to cater to their customers without everything having to cost more.

The hotel and location are great . The breakfast buffet is good and fresh. the pool is also nice and if you have kids is perfect to go swim after doing all outdoor activities. The only thing I did not like is that you can hear people in the bar late at night, a lot of noise because the bar is in the middle of the hotel and all rooms are around .

Solid 4 stars for this hotel. As others mentioned, it's an updated Embassy Suites so the rooms were spacious for our family of 4. We were a little concerned about noise since all rooms face the atrium but noise was never an issue (plus we had our white noise machines). Valet at times was a little slow but self-parking is not an option so you will need to plan accordingly. The kids had fun in the indoor pool but like another review stated, it was highly chlorinated but no issue otherwise. One area of concern which I mentioned to Tiffany (supervisor) was that our beds were made in a "non-standard" way. Instead of the fitted sheet, then flat sheet and duvet on top of the bed, the flat sheet was ON TOP of the duvet. My husband talked to the front desk on our first night and the person at the front had "no idea" about how beds were made and they offered to bring us additional flat sheets. They explained that they have large washing machines (which I don't doubt), but what we doubt is the fact that the duvets are washed after every single guest. Tiffany understood our concern and said she would bring it to the attention of the housekeeping staff. Overall, good stay, cute theming & decor, location is great and we'll likely be back.

Although our room was clean, we were quite disappointed by the condition of the carpets in the common areas, including the lobby, which had numerous visible stains and dirty spots. This lowered our impression of the hotel's overall cleanliness standards. We were also surprised to learn that the hotel has a pet-friendly policy. As a result of the carpet condition, we felt it was necessary to ask the receptionist for assurance that our assigned room had not been used by a dog. This experience made us feel uneasy and should not be a concern for guests. Also, our breakfast was not good. I was expecting more variety, fresher fruits and better choices. The pancakes were dry too. I feel like the food was fast food quality.

No towels in room (noticed when I went to shower) soap/body wash was empty bottle . Hair in tub that wasn't mine. Ordered a $20 pizza from the cafe brought to room and half of cheese wasn't melted and sauce cold . It's a nice hotel but the room fee doesn't match up to expectations

The check-in employee was unpleasant. The room appeared to be clean until we used the bathroom and our clean socks became quickly filthy. The shower curtain smelled of mildew, the shower and sink was newer but already grimy from months of not being cleaned very well. All it needed was a good cleaning and some bleach. The floors were dirty and we bought slippers at target to avoid. I was both surprised and disappointed given the reviews. Disappointed in the cost and value as well.

The staff were really nice, the electric bike employee was friendly and knowledgeable. The indoor pool was clean, but our room was not the cleanest. I found someone else's hair in the shower, the floor in our room was dirty. We attempted to go to the bar and have a couple of drinks, until we saw the bartender eating food behind the bar. This was awkward, my husband and I just walked away (maybe they were understaffed and he couldn't get a proper break). I also went to the coffee and merchandise shop, we were going to pick up some snacks for later in the day. ALL of the chips were expired, the expiration date was 08/12, and they were still trying to sale them. That was disappointing. The parking is valet only and $40 per day, for ppl staying at the hotel the parking should be free. The location is right at state line which was great.

I love that the hotel is centrally located and is surrounded by restaurants and shopping. The room is spacious. This year when we stayed there, the room wasn’t as clean when we entered as it was previous years. There was watermelon seeds in the common sink underneath the drain cover, there was strands of hair in the Dresser drawers. There was a toy in between the cushions from the previous guests. So with all this said, I don’t feel that the cleaning staff did a thorough job.

We did not wear shoes in the room. So, we noticed the dirt on our sock from the floor in our room. It was extremely dirty. Service was generally good. But, inconsistent between bartenders. Check in and out was easy. However, I wish I would have known about the valet fee. Nobody ever mentioned that until I looked at my emailed receipt. It’s quite underhanded since valet is not optional.

I have never complained or written a review but for the price I paid you would think the rooms would be a lot cleaner. The sofa had a brown stain , the tables had hair and hair pins. The restroom has dried urine . Would not stay here again.

Great size room! husband loved the double TVs ha ha. breakfast buffet was delicious, steak house was amazing! we had a partial view of mountains. wish there was a microwave in the room. we have an autistic daughter and when traveling with her, we have to travel with her food so it was difficult getting her fed. Other than that, it was a great stay! we got married there 5 years ago before it turned into margaritaville, so it was interesting to see the changes!

Everything was VERY clean with updated fixtures. As soon as you walk in, everything looks beautiful. The downstairs bar and indoor garden with the fish pond are so pretty. The indoor pool looked great. The room was very nicely updated. I cannot think of anything bad about this place, except maybe -1 point for the mandatory, $40 expensive valet and -1 point for the sliding bathroom door which offers a bit less than privacy lol. The staff were very nice and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay very much and we will definitely be back!! Including a photo of the free beach access the street, about 1 mile away.

Coffee maked in room did not work and only one pod of real coffee was stocked. The rest was tea. When I called to get car from valet upon check out automated message told me the number on my ticket was not valid. Room was clean and comfortable. Miss the extra sofa bed in living room.

My family and I just finished our first stay at Margaritaville and it was a very good experience. We stayed in a Queen Suite and were very happy with the room. We loved the front living room with comfy seating and spacious dining table. We liked the long sink and mirror in the bathroom so two people could get ready at once. Some small criticism of the room is that the bedroom window was clearly not a part of any renovations as the paint around it is sloppy and the area a bit musty. Also while the large sink in the bathroom is nice, it doesn’t drain well and water pooled on top by the faucet handles. Despite this, the sink was very clean when we arrived. The carpet around the doorway from living room to bedroom was a bit worn and if you stepped hard you could feel a small poke from the nails underneath. The layout of the hotel is nice, my kids enjoyed the decor and seeing fish and turtles in the water features. We ate at the Landshark once and it was a good experience with good food and friendly waitstaff. If I had to make a critique on amenities it would be about the indoor pool. The wood laminate flooring that surrounds the hot tub and pool is very slippery and the water accumulates and has nowhere to go. To end on a positive, the Valet/Bell staff was fantastic! They were always incredibly friendly, fast and generous with advice and recommendations. I regret not getting names to highlight and commend them directly. We look forward to our next stay at Margaritaville!

This was formerly Embassy Suites so all doors face the open interior, which is more like a motel in that you have to keep your blinds closed or everyone walking by can see right into your room. The interior seems to have been redone and is a nice laid back vibe with a courtyard bar. But the room ventilation system is very old and doesn't work properly and is very loud, and the vents are very dirty. The fridge was old and broken. Sad when you figure how much money was spent for the things you can 'see' but not the things that make things run. If those things were addressed it would be a 5 star review!

The staff was exceptional! From check in to the special birthday gift to my Dad. We were suprised with a mountain view upgrade and got a $30credit for food booking as a Gold member. They had an amazing buffet with omelet station, shrimp and fruit bar, juice, coffee and pastries for a great price of $20. We used our birthday comp and our gold comp for 3 of us to eat breakfast. They have an amazing steak house on property for fine dining, the bar in the lobby has amazing live music on Friday and Saturday nights with great drinks and full menu of food items to order to the bar! If you forgot anything hit up thr lobby coffee and grab and go cafe. Everyone made it an amazing stay after finishing my cancer treatment and my Dads birthday. Our first stay and wont be our last! Hughly recommend trying this property in the off season or when booking for a ski weekend! The rooms were amazing, we had the suite with a roomy living room. Highly recommend it!

Everything was amazing except the valet system. I do not blame Margaritaville at all - however the people they contract the valet service through is where the issue lays. Valet is mandatory and they charge 40$ a night. This is not optional. I went for a walk past my truck and realized they had not locked my vehicle. My vehicle was parked on the street where people and bears have access. I asked the valet team what had went wrong and if I could be provided with a policy that states all valet staff must lock the vehicles. I was met with no help. I was given the response of “What do you want me to do. I just locked it that’s all I can do.” Additionally they did not seem to care at all that this had occurred in the first place. When speaking with the front desk I was treated with kindness and understanding. Margaritaville staff was incredible in this matter and waived my parking fee. The valet they contract through is terrible.

This was my first time staying at a Margaritaville Resort. I did not realize until arrival that the valet parking was not optional and that parking would cost $40 per night in addition to our stay. I do not know what the $50 per night resort fee was covering. Our room was clean and comfortable, but there were no bath towels or robes when we arrived. We had to go to the desk to request them. We also did not have someone clean our room until 4 pm, when we were returning to the room to get ready for dinner. I don't think I would choose a resort stay again as I felt we were charged extra for things that would come standard in another hotel (including breakfast!) The staff was friendly and helpful, and the hotel was quiet and comfortable. But aside from the spacious rooms, it was a pricey option and I will probably opt for AirBnB instead.

Our whole stay was marred by the service of the staff. From the front desk to valets all the service was terrible. The location great! Quality of facilities excellent. Food terrible. We booked a one room through hotels . Com for our stay. The hotel then proceeded to send me an invite for an upgrade. A connecting room for 250$. So I thought sure we can do that. Upon arrival the front desk lady Tiffany, then said no this is a fee to connect two paid rooms and we can’t make exceptions for people who book from a third party. So I had to buy another room for one night. As more friends had decided to join us since I had thought I had gotten a connecting room. After arguing for 15 min. And asking for a manager they agreed to wave the connecting fee. So we had two connecting rooms for one night. This would have been ok but front desk retaliates against you if you make any complaints or ask for things. After the room mix up, which they fixed. They proceeded to have a 21st birthday with drunk screaming people placed next door to us when the hotel was nearly empty. We had to have security come and shut up our neighbors at 1am after repeatedly asking our neighbors to quiet down. While leaving we waited for 20 minutes to get our car from valet. We went up to the counter again and they said oh yeah we called you 15 minutes ago. Even though we heard them call all the other people in line. Then the valet gave us my keys and walked away without helping us load our luggage.

The property itself is fine; rooms were clean and it's good for a landing pad. My issue was that at check-in they charged me a holding fee + resort fee of $132 then "by mistake" double charged my room rate of $388 that had been paid in full prior to check in. I was assured it would be reversed but the staff was not very polite nor did they acknowledge the mistake with much courtesy. Upon check out I was told the holding fee would be refunded and I was charged for valet $50. After leaving I got another charge for $221 with no reason listed. I called and explained the situation and was told it was Expedia's issue (not the truth because the room was prepaid and showed the charge through Expedia, these were directly from Margaritaville "tap to pay"). The concierge was not very helpful; the charges have cleared and I'm waiting on an investigation that I don't have much confidence in. I'd be less frustrated if the attitude was more accommodating/understanding, and if it happened just once by mistake. It seems suspicious and is pretty disappointing. I will say that the Valet service was very polite and quick so I guess they have that going for them.

So spacious and loved the room. The lobby was by far my favorite. The live music and bar open late. When I checked it the lady who helped me was very rude. No eye contact at all. I asked her what floor was our room in and she looked and said well what’s your room # that tells you the floor. She had just handed me the key didn’t even say your on this floor. Mind you this was my first time. I even said have a good day and walked away and she didn’t acknowledge that either. She made that a horrible check in experience. We came down for a family trip and we drive almost 3 hours with a 3 year old and other family members.

The hotel itself is beautifully redone. I had paid for an upgrade to a King Suite before our arrival. The TV in the bedroom did not work, so that was unfortunate. I stayed there for a total of 3 nights (Fri check-in to Monday check-out). My original stay was to check out on Sunday. I wasn't told about the food/beverage credit until I checked out, so I missed out on that- it would have been great if they had communicated that at check-in. Then on the day of check-out, the person working the front desk asked to charge the card on file, and I said Can you confirm the amount He got upset and answered, "THE FULL AMOUNT YOU AUTHORIZED." Yeah...that was a turn off from returning. As of yet (36 hours past checkout), I have yet to receive a confirmation or receipt for the breakdown. I did enjoy the hotel, but the other things that occurred would make me second-guess returning there.

The property is walkable distance to the heavenly village with tons of shopping and restaurants. The interior is clean and well kept. The indoor pool is perfect for kids and thry have family movie nights at the pool. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well taken care of. There are also several bars and restaurants located within the hotel. I would highly recommend staying here. The only thing i did not like was the mandatory valet. We did not use the valet and were lucky to find parking. Im glad we didn't valet because on vheck out there were so many people waiting and the valet was backed up. If you can find nearby parking i would recommend that over valet.

Lake Tahoe? Absolutely stunning. The water, the mountains, the whole vibe worth every mile to get here. Margaritaville Resort Hotel? Well, let's just say it wasn't exactly island time, unless "island time" means you don't get to check in until 4pm. The good news: the room was clean, and the front desk staff along with valet were friendly. No complaints there. But here's where things got tricky, food. When we arrived, the on-site steakhouse was closed. "No big deal," I thought, "we'll explore the area and grab dinner later." Except later came, and every option seemed to disappear. Harvey's and McP's TapHouse? Hour-long waits. Stateline restaurant? Dark and locked up. Back at the hotel before 11pm, I discovered the steakhouse and room service were already closed. The front desk suggested DoorDash, which is great if you're in your 20s and live on apps, but not my style. At a resort in this price range, I expect at least a burger or a slice of pizza available without needing to download an app. The main elevator decided to take a vacation of its own. If you're the type who's back in your room by sunset, you'll be fine here. But if you like to fill your day with all the amazing things Lake Tahoe has to offer and roll back in late, you might be better off finding a place with actual late-night dining.

Hotel was clean and staff friendly. Restaurant was just okay and overpriced. Parking was only valet which also pricier than we would have liked and less convenient. Room was spacious and quiet. Ambiance was nice. Overall good stay with the kids. Could use some games stocked up there for families to make it more friendly.

Loved everything except the food. It was awful and way overpriced. Don’t mind spending the money for good food but this food was not worth it.

Property looks good but the walls between rooms are thin and you can hear everything. Housekeeping is the worst, dirty coffee cups just left unclean, Kleenex just left on the floor. We had dinner in the prime steak house and it was mediocre at best. We still had fun at the land shark restaurant and bar.

My family and I had a great time. The dinning options and indoor swimming pool were great during our stay in South Lake Tahoe. Location allows for a wide variety of option from shopping, dinning, to exploring the bi-state park!

Enjoyable stay at a nice property. Spacious room great view. Staff really friendly. Only negative for me is the food on property which is extremely average. We did not eat at the Steakhouse though.

My stay was amazing! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. It would have been a nice touch to have bottled water available in the room, but aside from that, everything was wonderful. I truly enjoyed my stay!

As always, the hotel was VERY well kept, very clean and quite quiet, considering how full it was! I would give 5 stars straight across the board, BUT, upon checking in, we were given the wrong room/keys and had to stand in line a second time to get things corrected. AND, apparently the 10 or so “free” parking spaces that used to be available on a first come first served basis, were digging a bit too much into the net profits/greed, and were roped/blocked off to make sure that no matter where you went, you had to pay through the nose simply to park your car……on top of the $50.00 a night “resort” fee. Felt like we were in San Francisco or Los Angeles instead of the Sierra Nevada mountains……. And yes, I know “everybody” is doing it, but, that doesn’t make it right.

Room was very spacious, clean, and quiet! Loved having food options in the property and the indoor pool was great for the kids. Only downside was not having a microwave in the room but they had one on the 2nd floor near the cafe if we needed. Would have also loved to have streaming services available on the TV (to sign into our own accounts) versus the standard cable.
