Everything was great!!! Easy parking, smooth check-in, and clean, comfortable room. Great location. Nice pool area with delightful hot tub! Highly recommended!!

We stayed 1 night in a jr. Suite. After checking in i discovered that 1 elevator wasn't working . The room was nice, clean with a good view. The room has 2 a/c units .The one in the lounge area did not turn on so it was a little warm watching t.v .Dinner was easy walked across the street . There are a couple of restaurants to choose from . Check out was easy except for the elevator situation it was hard getting to the lobby being that it stopped at every floor then went back up amd started again . This is our third stay here and we will definitely be back because that bed is magic and qe slept so good

Hotel was quiet and comfortable. Gym equipment worked. Area is walkable and safe

They really need to work on the parking area in the North side. Spaces are too small.

Love the location here. Walking distance to lot of restaurants and entertainment. The only thing that was a bummer was the the hotel didn’t let us know that there was going to be a wedding at the pool on Saturday. We were only there Fri and Saturday so there goes our pool day on Saturday. That info would have been nice to know in advance.

Terrible hotel. Jacuzzi not working for months. Bathroom hot cold reversed.

Pretty good stay. I felt the bar/restaurant could use more help. Takes too long for table service. Otherwise it's a good stay.

One of my fav hotels I have to stay in for business. Rooms are always clean, staff is always nice and it’s a great location.

Room looks clean but it smells like mildew. Ac filter needs to be replaced.

We had a cockroach in our room, it was found the next morning or we would have not stayed.

The room was dirty and dusty. The shower head and things inside the shower were older than god. . There was aluminum foil on a pipe. They only give two towels for two people for 2 days. The balcony had no light. They wanted $3 for a water in your room. Upgrades needed.

I was traveling solo for work nearby. The room was clean, I felt very safe, and the staff was pleasant. I would absolutely recommend this property.

The staff was very very kind, I was disappointed that there was not a microwave in the hotel room, we doordashed food and coffee and couldn’t even warm it up??? Had to go all the way to the main lobby and use a small microwave that didn’t even fit my Starbucks cup so we had to transfer it to another cup. Too much work when on vacation. That seems so minor but it was a big deal because convenience is so crucial when booking. Other than that, everything was amazing.

Firmest mattress I’ve ever laid on. It was like laying on a sheet of plywood. My body ached every morning during my 2 night stay. Also, room wasn’t serviced and when I called the front desk for more towels we never received any. Outside of that the place was clean and the location is quiet.

The walls and ceilings in this hotel must be made of cardboard, I could hear every word from the room next to mine. I was fortunate to be able to change room but the view from my new room was overlooking a parking lot instead of the pool area. The room was clean but not very charming. The overall atmosphere of the hotel is pretty depressing, I had breakfast in the hotel the first morning but once was enough, it was poor and expensive.

Had two nights scheduled, stayed one night due to noisy pipes and no A/C. Mentioned issues to the front desk…

It’s okay when making reservations make sure the size of beds your getting.I thought I would get king but got full beds.

The room smelled of sweat and so did the pillows. There was no water pressure in the shower. If there's not enough water pressure in the building you should put hoses on them so a guy can rinse off the soap.

The compressor on the fridge was very loud and came on about every hour. got in at 9:00 pm and found the TV didn't work tired and did not what to deal with them trying to fix it.

NIce bed LOUD heater

My wife and I have stayed here many times over the years, and unfortunately, this was the worst experience so far. The issues included: (1) being misled at check-in about the water being complimentary; (2) no Kleenex in the room, and then no drop-off of it even though I saw the receptionist make a note of it when I requested it on the way to the gym -- making me come back down again to get it in person when I got back to the room; (3) no shower gel in the room followed by the bad explanation that it's been out for months and the hotel hasn't come up with a workaround (for example, small bottles being made available at the front desk, upon request); (4) the ice machine on our floor being out of ice on Sunday; and (5) getting a busy signal every time we tried to call the front desk (5-10 times over 24 hours). The other unfortunate thing? Nobody at the front desk really seemed to care at all when we called things to their attention, and the general manager didn't even reply to an email I sent him directly.

No housekeeping was done on our room during our stay. We only had coffee the first day since they didn’t service our room we didn’t get our coffee replenished and our towels were not replaced. I mentioned it to a supervisor but nothing was done about it.

Check in was easy. Staff is pleasant and helpful

The registration system was down the entire time we stayed. They called every morning at 7am, waking us up, to ask who was in the room and how long we were staying. Our room keys were deactivated every day, so we had to walk back to the front desk to get new ones. At one point, the front desk gentleman accused us of locking the door from the inside, so we couldn't get in. It was ridiculous.

Staff was amazing very professional and helpful. Thank you to front desk staff Isaiah for making our stay extra special and providing free breakfast.

The front desk lady on August 11th 2025 was soooo rude we checked in at 1pm.

One great thing is I left my phone outside they were great in kerping it safe when turned in. The one negative is we had two other rooms with family for the funeral will be on family member. staying was in a wheel chair with his wife the care giver. It was safe to leave him alone. My husband had to help his Aunt get their stuff and him up to thier room after they waited till we flew in. We were away when they left and even after being ask for help they didn't prvide it. They comp to rooms. However my worry is for future quest booking you might want to clarify if handicap assistance is available. The fact housekeeping is only by request I can understand. I also need get with my other guest to question 2 room charges. I had to do a request for bed charge as the coffee cup in the room leaked from it's covered top all over me and the corner of the bed were I was seating. I didn't want it to stain.

Property is ok. Guest beware there...if you ask for early check in $100, thats crazy. Then you still charge your $150 for incidents. Crazy. Just go there to sleep and thats it or go to another hotel.

6/22/2024 When I checked in, the hotel computer didn't work, so I had to wait for a long time in hot weather. The scariest thing is that when I booked the room on Expedia before, I already full paid.After I left, double tree Whittier charged me again. Now I have been calling them for two days to discuss the refund and I am still waiting. Too terrible service

Excellent spot to stay in. Everything is walkable. There’s a movie theater and multiple eating options, bakeries, coffee, etc. parking is free. The only issue was the room carpet. I would definitely stay again. We were in town for a UCLA game.

Clean and quiet. Close to Whittier College. Good staff. Restaurants, bakery, movie theater and other small businesses within walking distance in downtown Whittier. Charming town. Good accessibility.

Plenty of FREE parking! Walkable to restaurants local none chain coffee shops.

Hotel is very clean in a cute neighborhood with dining options in walking distance. Will definitely stay here again when in town.

Great location and great for families

The property was well kept and inviting. The staff was friendly and the location was very close to many shops, restaurants, and bars in uptown Whittier! Will definitely book here again!

Unfortunately the area is a bit sketchy especially at night. I was not very comfortable leaving my cars, but we were stuck. The staff is friendly for the most part except those working the front desk on personal phone calls or talking to a friend hanging out with them. Our room the closet door was falling off the one hinge and restroom door wouldn’t shut without body weight. Rooms are small and good for up to 2 people. Not wise for more than 2 days.

Very nice hotel, very easy access and super close to their downtown area.

Best hotel in downtown Whittier! Walkable to most shops, restaurants, etc. The hotel's breakfast is very good, and the wait staff is gracious and attentive. I love having the ability to pour myself a hot cup of coffee from small thermos they place on the table. The hot tub in the courtyard is large enough to not feel like you're imposing on others, and is so relaxing! We will definitely be back again.

Breakfast buffet is very poor with very limited choices.

Hairs in the bathtub also slow drain, self like I was standing in the last person’s bath water! Food was aweful and everything was way over priced….2 cocktails $40

I’d like to offer some constructive feedback regarding our experience at the hotel bar on the night of the 27th. My family and I returned to the hotel and decided to relax with some drinks and appetizers at the bar area. We were looking forward to cocktail featuring pineapple, but were told that the kitchen had taken the supply, leaving none available for the bar. We then ordered a Paloma, but unfortunately, all we could taste was the tequila—it was unbalanced. We also tried an Old Fashioned, which seemed to be missing simple syrup, making it quite harsh. As we were sitting and enjoying our time, a very large group arrived. Shortly after, the bartender brought us our bill without asking if we’d like another round—even though we were planning on ordering more. When we asked about continuing, we were told we would need to wait in line behind the large group. While we understand how busy things can get, this response felt abrupt, so we decided to leave. Fortunately, another staff member did step in to assist. Overall, the bartender appeared overwhelmed and may benefit from additional training on cocktail preparation and customer service during high-traffic periods. This could help ensure a more consistent and welcoming experience for all guests. We appreciate the overall hospitality and share this feedback in the spirit of helping improve future guest experiences.

The pool area was clean and inviting. Dining and entertainment was within walking distance. Lobby, bar and hallways were hot and humid. Bartender and front desk clerk were not friendly. No smiles, no coffee in lobby. And on Saturday there was a charge for coffee but that wasn't communicated at check in. Housekeeping was friendly, responsive and polite.

Would stay again! The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and clean. The pool/spa area is lovely. Lobby is inviting. I love that the Doubletrees now have vegan cookies available at check-in. Would love to see the restaurant add more vegan options as well, although they did have some. Only complaint is that the lobby coffee ran out around 10am and was never replaced and we definitely could have used some more coffee! The neighborhood is just a suburb of LA but we found this convenient for a casual trip visiting friends. I would stay here again.

Basic hotel. Expensive for area. Nothing special. To charge $23 for a very basic breakfast buffet is ridiculous !

The location of this hotel is great, with easy walkable access to downtown. Rooms were nice and clean. Pool area looked nice although we never used it. Our rate included breakfast but it was a pretty sad buffet with only one person working and often items were out. Their cash price for breakfast is $23 which is ridiculous. I did feel bad for the one worker as they were doing their best and very nice. We stayed here two nights and then moved to the Doubletree in Claremont which had an amazing breakfast buffet for $18. Bedding was also nicer at the Claremont location and they didn’t charge for water. I refuse to be nickel and dimed for water so we didn’t drink the $3 waters in our room at Whittier location but were charged for it anyway. They did reverse the charge when I called but I wonder if that’s standard practice. Overall a decent stay at decent price for the location.

Super quiet. The only negative was room service food. The bartender/waiter was great but the sliders were disgusting.
