Extremely poor quality. Lobby had derelicts hanging out on a beat up sofa. Each room door had been previously broken in to. Filthy room with busted desk and broken down bed. Horrible scent permeated the room. Bathroom toilet cracked on the lid, shower curtain rod replaced several times in a cheap way. Felt extremely unsafe on the property with pot smoking, drug users. Suprised that my car was still there the next morning.

I think people may live there. The dead bolt didn’t line up so we could not deadbolt it. Outside door always unlocked so anyone can come inside. It was affordable and would probably stay again, just was pointing out.

Building is old. Restroom door was broken and did not close. Wall pieces were falling off. Very strong cigarette smell. 1 out of 3 lamps work. Elevator was very dirty. Vending machin prices where incorect. Breakfast area was very dirty. Expired items on breakfast area. Everything was bad.

The parking lot had a few defunct cars. Entrance doors were open for anyone to go in. Upon walking in the stench of the hotel was awful. It smelled like a blend of ashtray and marijuana. My television didn't work and I didn't bother to contact the front desk because I just wanted to sleep. I did not shower because it looked so gross. The free breakfast was laughable. Coffee, juices and a few different items. I did find a wonderful breakfast spot down the road a bit. Someone from corporate should pay a visit and stay there.

Even for the price, this hotel was barely okay and left a lot to be desired. The staff at check in was friendly enough, but the facilities are horribly run-down. First, there is an odor when you walk inside that seems like a mix of stale cigarette smoke and an odd scent I couldn't put my finger on, maybe like ranch dressing. The carpet in the hallway is worn with several patches that are bare. The side door on one side of the building does not close properly and the bottom of it scratches the cement on the doorstep below when it opens and closes, causing a screeching noise. The room I had obviously had not been vacuumed recently, and I was frankly unwilling to walk barefoot in it. There were cigarette burns in the carpet and the bedspread. The bathroom was run down and the bathtub was clearly old and had stains. There was no ice bucket, but thankfully I had a small cooler I could fill, which may have been for the best. Overall, I would say this is probably the shabbiest place I have ever stayed, even for a budget hotel. Whoever owns it clearly has little interest in investing to upgrade anything whatsoever about the property, which is a shame because it is conveniently located right along I-95. Caveat emptor.

The hotel is obviously used primarly to house homelss. There was no available parking . Counted 11 cars in the lots with no plates , flat tires and hadnt been moved in a long time. The floor of my room smelled like cigarette smoke. The elevator was filthy , entire property was dirty and so much in disrepair. No free breakfast .

1 towel, 1 hand towel and 1 washcloth for 2 people in a king room, which the deadbolt lock was almost hanging off! Rugs had burn holes, elevator was extremely scary, with snapping and loud grinding noises and shook! This place needs to be condemned!!! Seriously!! Worst stay ever!!!!

Rooms were beyond dirty as well as elevators and common areas. Breakfast was prepackaged. One of the beds had a used needle jabbed into it. AC unit had moldy nuts smashed into the vents. Electrical outlets are outdated and do not work. Beds were blood stained. Carpets were dirty and torn.

I’ve been deployed to 3rd world countries that were cleaner than this hotel.

Check in was smooth since Hotels.com had already designated the room - I was able to get the keys early. Nightstand lamp did not work - nor did the outlets on the lamp - we told the desk about it. Bathtub dangerously slippery because they put the shampoo and body wash containers opposite the faucet so it left slippery substance all over the tub bottom. If they had installed those on the same side as the faucet and showerhead (like other hotels I have gone to) - the water would rinse the residue away. Bed was fine, pillows fine, small refrigerator also nice.

I was expecting a microwave and mini fridge and didn’t have either. I guess that’s what I get for going by pictures of the rooms instead of reading the amenities section. I also don’t understand why hotels and motels don’t make the proper repairs when things get damaged or broken. The drop ceiling in the bathroom is sagging, the vent fan didn’t work, the counter is falling apart, the door has water damage and can’t be shut properly.

Safe and no bedbugs, older place that used to allow smoking in rooms so there are burns all over the carpets, drapes, and mattresses. Fine for a quick overnight stay on a road trip, wouldn’t book for a week’s vacation.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Super 8 Groton. It started out a little bad since the AC didn't work in the room. It was an unusually hot day for April. I did inform the desk about the AC but no one was available to fix it. Fortunately, the temp. dropped through the remainder of the weekend. The WiFi service also wasn't working in my room but it started working later that first night and was OK the rest of the weekend.

Missing light bulb, duct tape on bath tub holding the stopper, sink didn't drain properly, floors dirty, the brown colored carpets didn't stop white socks from turning brown with dirt. No closet or even a rod to hang clothes, breakfast consisted of a packaged danish, coffee and juice. Sheet was on top of comforter.

Checkin & Out online was super easy. Our room reeked of smoke, the window was broken and wouldn't close. The door did close & lock but there was a huge gap to the hall in the doorframe. The mini fridge wouldn't work. The comforter had cuts in it and the carpet was quite dirty. There was no shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom.

The property is old and could use some TLC. The toilet is small and has a wobbly seat that we couldn’t tighten. The bathroom had a light/fan combination and the fan was VERY loud. Room was very clean, bed was comfortable and had cozy pillows. The side entrance door didn’t close, so anyone could access the building any time of day or night. Our room didn’t have a secondary lock. Location is fine. Near fast food and Chinese Kitchen Restaurant had the best General Tso Chicken I’ve ever had.

I had my room booked a month in advance and drove 9 hours to get here, only for them to have cancelled my reservation at the last minute and give no cell notification so I could find another hotel before my arrival instead of being told after driving for 9 hours at 12:30am. Was also told they were “overbooked” despite their website showing they had multiple vacant rooms that night. Unprofessional and bad service. Had to drive around until 1am so I could find a new hotel. Will not be booking with a Super 8 again

Arrived tired at 10:30pm and the room was pre-paid. It stank like weed when I entered the lobby. Front desk person did not arrive back to desk for 15 minutes. Upon checking in, I realized that my driver’s license was not in my wallet. I had an expired license and a picture of my current license that I was willing to email them as a backup. The front desk person kept repeating that it was hotel policy and then she couldn’t check me in without a physical copy of my actual ID. She was unwilling to budge, even though I told her that the license was 4 hours away and that I had nowhere else to stay. She didn’t care. I asked to speak to the manager on duty, she said that she was unavailable at the time. She wouldn’t check me in no matter what and threatened to call the police as I plead my case. I found a hotel an hour north who would take an email of my ID and printed a copy. The Super 8 in Groton was a dump and the place I found was much better. But ended up paying for 2 hotels.

I wasn't expecting much for the price, and actually would stay her again if I just needed a place to sleep. But the place had a funky smell, electrical outlets loose, burn holes in the blankets, loose shower curtain rod, bathroom door that closes awkwardly, and the list goes on. Things did seem clean, just in need of repair.The receptionist was the highlight, she was super kind and friendly.

This is a very basic stay so if you are expecting shiny and special don't book. The property is very outdated and hadn’t received much care for a while but that was fine with me. Check in staff was very friendly. Hallways and room clean. One of my blankets did have cigarette stains in it bit it was clean. I stayed to visit my son for a weekend at the Navy base. Location was perfect for that. And it made for an affordable trip.

Hotel is in a sketchy section. We got a room on the first floor 2 doors down from the front door where people would smoke so we couldn’t keep our window open. Room wasn’t in the best condition either. Pictures on website are not comparable to what we stayed in.

The staff is awesome,friendly,and helpful, the rooms are clean and the price is affordable. I also like that u can walk to a variety of food, and shopping location is convenient.

Bathroom floor was sticky, saw someone peeing on the side of the building also 2 guys smoking weed at the main entrance. Theres also a red spot on the floor next to the toliet. There is no red paint in the room. Could of used more pillows and blankets. Other wise a comfortable stay. Location of hotel is near plently of stores and food establishments. Also not far from the ocean.

Even though I was only here 1 night for a business trip and it was not at my expense, the price was still quite low. I will definitely say though, that the property really needs to be updated. I believe this is a smoke free property, but the rooms and hallways smelled a bit like old smoke. There were noticeable little repairs throughout the hotel that were done quite sloppily. When I arrived to the breakfast area around 8:00 am, it was very messy and not a drop left of any coffee in the 3 containers. The waffle machine did have batter in it, but apart from a few packaged danishes, there was no more syrup or butter, so I just ate a plain waffle and grabbed a couple danishes to go. Overall, I thought the bed and room was quite comfortable and would recommend this hotel for someone who is okay with having just the basic amenities and nothing else, since the low price does go along with what is offered.

Great location, convenient to Route 95, Groton and New London. The hotel needs some TLC—a better couch to replace the beat up one in the checkin area, touch up paint. But a good bargain.

The location is convenient but the access to the hotel is tricky if coming from the south. Amenities list fitness room, restaurant on site and free breakfast, but none of this is true (unless your breakfast is a cup of coffee or juice and a granola bar)

Would not recommend staying here unless you have too. Room was pretty beat up and dated. Staff was friendly and bed was comfortable. I don't get the throw size pillows for the bed though. The breakfast was a sad joke. To top it off when I left I saw a huge crap right behind my truck toilet paper and all.

I would not recommend this to anyone. The floor in the room felt gritty under your feet, in order to get new towels you needed to bring the used ones to the front desk, the entire establishment smelled of cigarettes and weed. Breakfast consisted of 2 flavors of nutrigrain bars...no milk, no toast, no cold cereal, no fruit...

They don’t have breakfast or it was gone & cleaned up by 9 even though they told me 10 when I checked in. Bathroom door handle was not properly attached, bathroom since was worn and not properly maintained.

For the price it was ok. But, the whole hotel reeked of pot smoke. Our leg on the tv was broken so we reported it as to mot be charged. Was dingy at best for cleanliness. Breakfast was either a waffle. Ganola bar or corn muffin. Proteins were not a option.

This property was probably good for the brand about 20 years ago but it doesn't seem as though there has been much maintenance or upkeep during that time. Most things in the room felt old and worn out. There was breakfast advertised but all it was were some breakfast bars and coffee. This was the lowest priced option in the area on a Saturday in the summer so maybe that is the best one can get for this price range during this time I don't know.

This place was so disgusting we had to leave. The carpet was filthy and full of large holes, the vanity was falling off of the wall, the drapes were torn. There was large uneven patches all over the walls. There were barekt conscience people in the halls and the outdoor areas. Do not stay here.

This was the most disgusting place I have ever booked. Pee stains on sheets and mold in ac units that did not work. Should be removed from your website as an option. Hotel still has not refunded my stay.
