Overall it was fine, but the property is old and needs a refresh. Two out of rhree elevators were out of service.

Hot tub was broken.

There are 3 elevators in the hotel. Two were out of service at the time of check-in and by the next morning the third one was down too. So all guests had to take the stairs. If felt bad for the employees running up and down the stairs to get people's bags to bring them down. They did comp breakfast for everyone that day, so that was nice. It could use some updated fixtures also. But the bed was comfortable.

The room had wet carpet and the bed was so high, I needed to step on my suitcase to get in. They did rectify it. The vending machine on the floor was out of order but there was no sign posted. The main doors were out of order.

Nice quiet , need to fix the road outside . Caught a flat in the parking lot due to multiple pot holes .

We chose this properly strictly because they have a hot tub. We got there and the hot tub was drained. They told us it just happened but could be permanently gone. If their website was up to date we would have chosen another option.

My only disappointment was that the gym did not include the weight stations and equipment that was advertised.

I booked at this location to utilize the hot tub and pool and when we got to the pool area the hot tub was out of order and there was no indication of this online or at check in, i would have booked my stay elsewhere.

Nice and clean. Enjoyed the indoor and outdoor pools; in-room dining was a plus !

This was one of my worst experiences staying at a Marriot. The rooms where outdated, smelled like mold and the consent smell of marijuana use through out the hotel was rampant! It was not a good experience!

We found a bed bug in the morning. I took a picture and video and had it confirmed by a friend that works for the health department. When I told the front desk they were dismissive at best and rude at worst. They canceled my reservation for the second night but would not refund the bug infested night I stayed there because it was through a 3rd party. They insisted their “engineer” aka maintenance worker found no infestation. However, I was easily able to find a complaint on line as recent as September 2024. They were also treated in the same manner. I filed a complaint with corporate Marriot, so we will see if they do any better!

Rooms were dirty. Concierge lounge was closed half the time. Minimal offerings. Restaurant food was barely okay.

Room was dirty. Bathroom had hair and excrement in the corner. Dirty, stained washcloth behind the door. Only 1 clean washcloth. 1 towel. Front desk was not helpful. Breakfast hostess was rude. I won’t be staying at this Marriott - or recommend it it to others - ever again.

Nice property that has become dated. Air conditioning didn't work well. torn sheets and our room look like it was cleaned with a dirty rag

The front desk staff were less than friendly. Our room felt damp and smelled of mildew. The bath towels were gray from being used so much. The rooms felt dirty. This did not feel like a Marriott hotel. Very disappointed.

Room was clean and quiet. Hallway was very dirty. First floor smelled musty. Staff was nice and helpful.

1. There were no blankets because they had not completed their Laundry 2. Though we were checking out at 10:30, housekeeping woke us up at 8:15 to clean the room. 3. The room and hallways were dirty, had not been vacummed in some time. 4 Walls were dirty. I could go on. I am a loyal Marriott Traveler - this does not live up to the Marriott Standard and is not well run, This is my firts negative review I have posted in Expedia but fell compelled to based on how poorly it is managed

The bathtub was full of dirt, the cleaning people did come to clean it but it was still disgusting The pool area was dirty along with the pool water. The tv didn’t work, we thought it might have been the remote but it was not, the channels continue to buffer.

I needed a place to stay for a night and was pretty happy with this hotel. The bathroom and shower/tub were really small compared to the rest of the room. The bed was comfortable. The complimentary internet was a bit slow. They do not offer room service for breakfast which was a little disappointing…I checked out the breakfast buffet but, ultimately, I didn’t eat anything (the cost was $15.95!!). Complimentary coffee and tea was offered in the lobby so, I grabbed some of that. Staff were very friendly and professional.

The room was outdated. There was no bedding for the pull out sofa. Having stayed at many Marriott hotels, this was not what I have grown to expect from the brand.

Room was good size, bed was fine, bathroom good enough if a little bit cramped. But there was no easy chair, and though there was a refrigerator, there was no microwave. This is a very big hotel with spacious public areas, red carpets, and other luxury touches, but it is showing its age. One annoyance was that the revolving door was broken, meaning that you had to push open two doors to enter and exit.

Nice hotel. The rooms were very clean. The bed are comfortable. My only complaint is that the walls are thin and we could hear people talking in the halls as they walked to their rooms.

I booked a stay at the Marriott Trumbull in Shelton, Connecticut, and let me just say… this is not Marriott standards. I checked in late Thursday night, November 13, after a long flight. I was exhausted and ready to knock out, but the moment I lay down, the bed hit me back. All I felt were springs and coils with a deep sunken hole in the mattress. It was rough. From the bed to the room itself, nothing about it felt like Marriott quality. I was too tired to put up a fuss, so I dealt with it, but I got zero sleep that night. Mind you, I was in town for my uncle’s funeral, so rest really mattered. On Friday, I mentioned the issue to the front desk, and to their credit, the staff was friendly and moved me to another room. The bed was a little better, but then I found hair in the shower — and trust me, it wasn’t mine. The first room also had a grimy ring around the faucet, and I still can’t believe tubs like that are in circulation. The whole place just looks rundown and dated. Definitely giving motel vibes. Once you notice one thing, you notice everything. The elevator area on the third floor was dirty. Carpet everywhere, dingy bed skirt in Room 367, that fabric sofa that has CLEARLY seen better days… it was giving “absolutely not.” The staff was nice enough and did what they could, but the property itself needs a serious overhaul. Nothing about this hotel reflects Marriott’s usual standard of comfort and cleanliness. I stay at Marriott often and this is the last time

The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. I needed to be near St. Vincent’s Hospital and the hotel location was convenient. It’s a little run down here and there but it’s still clean and comfortable. I’d stay here again.

The heating system needs to be upgraded

This hotel is ok. Very old. Our king size bed sank in the middle and was uncomfortable. There were no USB outlets. The housekeeping was spotty - we were there for 3 nights and they only came once. No microwave. It was quiet, however, which was a plus.

The hotel is nice but dated. Room and bathroom were very clean but exterior and halls need a definite upgrade. The main entrance was out of service for our entire stay. There is very poorTV reception so the TV was basically unwatchable. There were also several lights out in the Marriott sign in the front. The cleaning staff were very good. They were very polite and helpful.

It was a nice stay. Bathroom was small and needs updating. Would be nice to have the sink in the bathroom and more hangers for towels and clothes when out of the shower.

Trumbull Marriott Shelton is always spot on. Nice clean room. All staff polite and friendly.

The clerk at the desk was extremely helpful and thoughtful

While this hotel is a Marriott, its far below what I would expect from a full service hotel. Housekeeping missed several things, such as restocking toilet paper, hand towels and more the first day. The second day they slipped a note under the door saying they couldn’t service the room. The front desk doesn’t keep on hand items needed, and never showed up to bring them after requesting. The hotel even ran out of bottled water in the vending machines and the pantry. Even in the restaurant for breakfast, dirty glasses from the night before were left up and down the bar. Rooms are a bit tired, but at least they are comfortable.

Nothing unique about property. Night staff at front desk was completely rude, breakfast buffet was cold; housekeeping rude as well. I’ve never spent so much money for such an unpleasant experience

The front desk took my credit card for “incidentals” when I checked in. The lady then proceeded to bill me for a full night, even though I had already paid through hotels.com. I have called multiple times to get the issue corrected and have not been called back, or have been left on hold indefinitely. I will now be disputing this charge through my credit card. Terrible customer service and inept employees at the front desk. Avoid this hotel unless you enjoy double paying for your stay.

The hotel is clean and run by extremely friendly and accommodating staff.

Great customer service, front desk attendants are fantastic overall very good value.

Room was spacious and clean. The hotel is close to restaurants and other fun things. The only bad experience was the bar staff. The hotel was hosting a sorority event that night and the bartenders preferred to wait on them. We stood at the bar for almost an hour, even speaking up, but they continued to ignore us and serve the younger crowd. We decided to leave. The hostess stopped us on our way out to give us 2 free water bottles because they saw what happened and felt bad. Other than the bar situation, the hotel was great, and we would stay here again.

Conveniently located to multiple shopping venues. Easy to get around.

Staff was helpful & kind. Beds were super comfortable & the hotel was super close to the concert venue in Bridgeport & close to local amenities like the mall & target.

Convenient location to the areas we needed to travel to around Trumbull and Bridgeport.

Good location for meetings and events. A huge plus was the inside / outside pool options and on site restaurant. Decor is a little older for the Marriott brand, but the bedding is always classic !

This is the second time staying at this property. The location is great for what we need when visiting family. Close to Target and a few other stores, including a gas station and pharmacy. The property itself is on the older side but you can tell they are making upgrades to certain common areas and certain carpets etc. Our go to when in town.

Fabulous waitstaff at restaurant.

The room was clean and comfortable. The food at Parallel Post is excellent. The public areas of the hotel would benefit from fresh paint, wallpaper, etc.

I liked the breakfast. It was included with my package but I would definitely have paid the $16 for it. It had lots of choices. Ally was especially nice and accommodating.

The main floor is unique and has a nice feel. Carpeting needs updating for the whole place. Complimentary breakfast would be nice. I paid $17 for a ok breakfast. A lot of hotels have the same breakfast for free. It was not impressive
