El Caribe Resort and Conference Center

Location was far enough away from all the bikes during biketoberfest. The elevator was not working last night and we had to walk up six flights of stairs but it was working this morning. It was a standard plus continental breakfast. Motorcycle dedicated parking was wonderful.

The property has two pools. All the rooms have an ocean view.

Property and elevators were disgusting!!

This hotel is still undergoing construction from the devastating hurricanes. ***No beach access from the property, you have to walk down the street past two hotels to get on the beach. Breakfast is cereal, bagels, pastries, yogurt, and fruit.

Our stay was fine, just one night. We had a nice view of the water but there was construction going on, as they were rebuilding the seawall, so a lot of noise. The pool was closed because of the past couple of hurricanes. Older building, clean enough, we had a leak in the bathroom ceiling because of a drain back up on the floor above us and we were not offered a discount for the inconvenience. We advised maintenance and they were unable to fix anything at 9:00 at night, not a big deal but some kind of acknowledgement would have been nice since the room was not cheap. Breakfast options were decent and Virginia was lovely to talk to!

Rooms are good, property is not. They say it’s under construction but it needs a lot more than what they are doing.

No beach access.

Great weekend! Repairs are still being made on the seawall, so you have to walk to the end of the property to get to the beach...very minor inconvenience. Virginia, who is in charge of the continental breakfast, is a delight. The room was clean and comfortable. Easy parking and great location.

The remodel is not complete, elevators are old and take forever. Pool areas are average.

Poor conditions for the room. Rust and what appeared to be mold in the bathroom. Rusted locking mechanism for back door. Back door didn’t secure properly. Bed frame felt broken and sunk in. Paint peeling from ceilings. Just an overall poor condition room. The “breakfast” was just cereal and prepackaged snack cakes.

The view was absolutely amazing from the balcony. The building itself was a bit rundown, but nothing seemed unsafe. Elevator was noisy which had us nervous but it worked just fine. The room was quite clean, however, the bathroom also showed quite a few giveaways that the building is old. Dusty in a lot of places in the room also, but we mainly wanted a quiet clean bed to rest up. The beach view was a huge bonus. Overall, it was a great stay and we would stay here again even with the flaws we noticed and mentioned.

Stains all over the curtains, stains all over the table, maggots on the floor and in the bathroom, hair in tub/drain and bathroom sink, bed bugs literally right on the pillows. This was one of the worse experiences I've ever encountered in a motel or hotel EVER. The door to the "shared" kitchen didn't lock from the inside, crumbs in the cabinets, there was absolutely no cleanliness standards at this place. So disappointing because it was expensive for being this level of disgusting and being right on the beach they should really fix these things. Hopefully we get our money back because this was lawsuit horrible and I took plenty of pictures and videos. People get sick and disease because of things like this and they didn't even seem to care. Oh, and the front desk nobody was there to even check me out after 10 minutes of checking in. Never again, they couldn't pay me to go back to this area. So sad for Daytona beach area

The entire experience from start to finish was terrible when we got to the property I stood in the lobby and waited 30 minutes before anyone showed up to check me in she arrives I then go to the room had sewer flies in it the shower glass (door) is only partial so the shower water goes onto the floor the towels we had on Friday when we arrived had rust stains on them the blanket was as thin as the sheet it was awful on Saturday I went to the front to ask for towels and the man told me sorry I am out so we had 4 people in my group and we had no towels to dry off with this night I tried to take my son to the pool to swim and the pool was so dirty completely blurry you could not see the bottom and the sewer flies were terrible out at the pool they had trash and broken pool toys all around the pool also they have a pipe out near the pool that is showing that should not be I'm guessing it also is leaking some nasty fluid out of it and up by the front where you check in is another spot thats leaking brown fluid out onto the ground the lamp in the room was rusty the door to go in and out of the room is so hard to open and close you have to slam it to get it to lock so all night while trying to sleep we got to hear doors being slammed from our neighbors otherwise your door wont lock all in all I will never be back to this place I stay in Daytona a lot and this is by far the worse place I have ever stayed highly do not recommend

In general, the property was rundown. In addition, in our room, we found 2 dead roaches, and had to kill another live roach, and palmetto bug. As my wife is deathly afraid of roaches, this was not a good situation.

Just wasn’t impressed. The view was nice, the price was reasonable. The clientele was low end and the elevator smelled like weed the whole time we were there. The bathrooms are not as clean or nice as I would have liked and the carpet was gross and musty. I doubt I’ll book this resort again on my many trips to Daytona.

This property is filthy! There are roaches in the bathrooms, the sheets were not clean and nothing has been dusted in days!! When I alerted the front desk about the dirty sheets, they just dropped some off. No offer to remake the beds or anything. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY AT THIS LOCATION! The only redeeming quality is that it is on the beach.

What you can see on the pictures online is a lie. The resort is dirty and full with roaches. Me and my family got there late night around 11pm and could not stay because of the roaches everywhere in the room. We left and had to find a new accommodation. I do not recommend this place to anyone to stay.

Get what you pay for on this stay! My son was visiting potential colleges on the Atlantic side and thought this looked(according to the pics) like a nice, safe place for our family of 3 to stay for four nights. It’s safe as it appears to be in a good area and my family felt safe. However, the pics that you see online are outdated and don’t show the current condition of this property. Beds are adequate, tv worked fine, but rooms need some updating and a little tlc. Our room lacked ventilation as there was always a musty smell in the air. A ventilation fan in the bathroom would go a long way to remove moisture from taking a shower. Most if not all balconies had some sort of mold running off the deck and down the ocean side of the building. I would guess this was caused by the a/c unit condensation running off the balconies?? Our balcony stayed wet a majority of our stay. Pools were clean and fine for use, but the furniture needed to be power washed or replaced. Property had easy access to the beach as it was less than a stones throw away. Common areas appeared dirty and could use a good cleaning and paint. Adequate parking as I don’t believe they were ever at capacity. Overall, if your looking for a place to sleep and enjoy a night or two near the water then you will be fine. However, staying multiple nights I would move on down the road. There are way too many places in Daytona Beach to choose from and we would have probably been happier staying elsewhere. Good luck!

old hotel needs maintenance and Noisy ,

Hotel was very well appointed. Room was overlooking the ocean. Rooms were very spacious, the beds were so comfortable. Fantastic facilities and a great location.

THE VIEWS WERE AMAZING! The Suite was spacious. I will visit again.

Hotel location and view was awesome. Close to everything. Only thing we didn't like was how noisy everything was. People above, below, beside, and in the hallways. You could hear everything. Once they can soundproof some stuff. It'll be even better.

The buildings need a lot of repairs and modifications. The rooms are very old. The doors have to be pulled hard to close, as well as to open.

I didn't like the humidity in the room. Kept the mirrors foggy and my skin sticky. The tile floor stayed moist and slippery. But the room was nice and the ocean view was great.

Had a great time in Daytona and the beach view from the 6th floor was beautiful!!! Towels / linens were very clean but the room left a lot to be desired. I am not normally a complainer but the room is kept so warm / humid that the tile floors in kitchen and bath stay wet and slippery. The a/c does not cool according to your setting so it stays overly warm day and night. The place above us had a leak in their bathroom that leaked down through the ceiling into our bathtub when they showered. The worst part was the carpet--our feet were black and sticky after walking on it-nasty. On Sunday night somebody decided to share extremely loud 'boom boom bass' music from 11 pm until 4am Monday morning. Glad we didn't have children with us.

Amazing Shannon, at night is awesome and Danica is so great. Rose, Ashley and Gail all the folks there are super nice and very professional.

It doesn’t look like much from outside and elevators are old BUT the rooms are beautiful and the view is spectacular on the ocean side, just view the pictures well. Ashley, Danica, Shannon and Lester are great. Crystal isn’t as friendly but she is very nice. We ended up booking every night for 4 days and still got the same room.

The ladies at the front desk, especially Shannon, are awesome. We ended up booking for 3 nights in a row but each night separately because of hospital stay. They were so helpful and sweet. The young girl in the breakfast area is also very nice and helpful. It’s a little off putting because the elevators are old but the room and view are excellent

This property was older but very clean and neat. The staff were very nice. Our room was had a view of the beach and ocean while over looking the pool. We went to the beach upon our late impromptu arrival. We only spent around $120 for a room facing the ocean on a last minute booking because we were too tired to make it home after a concert. I was honestly planning my next visit as soon as we checked in. My uses a cane but was able to easily walk to the beach and relax as it was practically in the backyard. Easy access to parking as well. The best part there are beaches right along the street both for 4 wheel drive vehicles and also for regular cars/minivans that you can drive on. This was a plus because as previously stated my wife uses a cane but love the beach.

Jennifer at the front desk was amazing. Kind, courteous and friendly. Anything you need she would provide it or find someone that could.

This hotel has a great location. The oceanview was amazing. Every staff person we interacted with from front desk, to housekeeping, to the sweet lady stocking breakfast was friendly. It is a bit run down though with beds being a bit worn, walls need painting, and some furniture looks rough. We had 3 rooms, all were much more dated than the online photo. Like most places on the strip, they are in a constant state of hurricane reno. But it was clean and everything worked.

My husband and I took a trip to Daytona Beach for our honeymoon. Our stay was excellent at El Caribe Resort and Conference Center. The only thing we wish would have been different is that we would have been notified that there was no beach access from the property due to the hurricane prior to our trip. We weren't told under we arrived, the lady at the front desk told us it was only a 2 min walk to the public beach access but that had been washed out by the hurricane too so we had to drive and park in paid parking to access the beach. Housekeeping was great, they gave us clean towels, blankets, and removed trash each day except for the last but I believe our room had not purposely been skipped, they were more than willing to give us towels when we went and asked that night after returning back late. We had a great time and I would return back to their facility again!

Really enjoyed our stay. The staff is super sweet and Maintance is top notch along with house keeping. I needed some extra towels they hooked us up. The battery for our door died in less than 2 mins Jim and Sed were right there to let us in our room and in less than 5 mins it was fixed. I can’t remember everyone’s name but we will definitely be back in a few weeks.

Parking was easy and I felt secure. The staff were very nice and efficient. The view from my room was amazing. We watched the dolphins playing in the sunrise. It was such a nice experience.

Picked this place for the kitchen, location & heated pool and that was the best decision ever! The building is a bit outdated but overall service tops that. Grocery & liquor store is just infront of the hotel. Friendly staff & quiet hotel. Will definitely stay here again.

If you’re looking for an oceanfront with a comfortable bed and a beautiful view at an affordable price then this is the place for you. I come here twice a year just to get away from My busy life and when I leave I feel like a new person. They are doing some construction in the back, but my peace was never disrupted.

It was okay, the elevator was so hot & stank & slow. There were roaches in the bathroom & hallway, the continental breakfast was moldy, didn’t want to get in the pool because it was so murky. Ok the plus side, the location was good, the room wasn’t in bad shape, and the balcony was nice.

Check-in was good. The outside of the he hotel was a bit run down. The room was clean. There is free breakfast was okay, no hot food. just your basic coffee, juice, bagels, cereal, muffins, and danish. Better than nothing.

It wasn’t a terrible place hit not the best. Pros- comfortable/clean bed with newer furniture, ocean view, clean pools, soft clean towels, free breakfast but not hot (muffins/cereal/yogurt/bagels), pleasant staff, quick easy check in. Cons- old/run down dark hallways, missing threshold between carpet and tile with edge of tile sticking up a good bit, no beach access but right now that most of the beach, the bathroom was disgusting (brown stains on walls, mildew behind toilet, mismatched tiles and old swelled up shelves and the door wouldn’t close. (I think maybe they are remodeling because the bed area was nice and new and the bathrooms were terrible. But idk) and the elevators took forever and the stairwells were not well lit….it think half of what we paid would be fair for what they had to offer at the moment.

The resort is run down, the elevators didn't operate correctly. The Breakfast attendant was rude, the pools were cloudy. The tv was arching when turned on, the places are not updated. There was construction only Infront of this resort that began at 7am.

This hotel is an older property, but the staff are constantly working to maintain conditions working. When we first arrived the lock on the room door was not working and the water on the sink had very little pressure. We told the front office and they sent maintenance right away. The maintenance person worked ton those issues and fixed them. The continental brea Could be improved but they do provide some cereals, instant oatmeal, coffee, some muffins and bagels.

Staff was Excellent and great location. Breakfast was disappointing. Cleanliness was bad (although linens were clean and bright white). Tiles mismatching, mold in the bathroom baseboard, dirty elevator and dark hallways. Little things that when combined can make you feel safer and even willing to pay more for your stay. But emphasizing, the location and the staff were 5 stars. It seems it’s more a problem of the owners not investing in the property than a staff problem.

Areas still closed from storm damage, the continential breakfast was a joke, a few pices of bread for toast, one bagle.
