Employees were friendly and helpful. The place in general needs some serious refurbishing, lots of rust everywhere. Funky smells in the hallways. Killed 3 roaches in the bathroom. The 2 pools they advertise are there and they're petty nice, no slide though. Some rust removal, fresh paint and a good exterminator service could make this place attractive again.

I have been staying here for over a decade. It is a great place to bring your family. They have a indoor and outdoor pool. Currently the outdoor pool is being redone due to damage from the last hurricane. They have plenty of outdoor seating to lounge around in the sun. They have a small place to get breakfast and lunch that is poolside. They also have daily activities like a coffee club, bingo, and other activities for the kids. There is also a game room and playground.

The hot water did not work. Cold shower which was not enjoyable. The sauna on the 3rd floor did not work, which was why i chose to stay at the viking. In the morningni was sprayed by the irrigation sprinkler. They are not adjusted correctly. Standing water near the gate which could be slippery. The area around the pool ( under awning ) needs pressure washed and repinted and the the clear cover itself needs to be chemically cleaned. Soda vendors were useful

Awesome place!! Beautiful indoor pool, great outdoor pool, beach is just steps from both pools. And the room was HUGE - 2 queens, 1 sofa bed and 1 Murphy bed and a big frig. Everything you need for a beach vacation!! Everyone there was extremely friendly.

We enjoyed our time here at the sun viking lodge very much. Our room was on the first floor right by the indoor swimming pool that was awesome. Everything was convenient, the indoor swimming pools, outdoor swimming pools and just steps from being on the awesome beach. Staff were very friendly and always available if you needed anything. The cafe was closed due to a busted pipe but I mean things happen. Staff was very apologetic about it. I would recommend this lodge and I would go back to it as well!

TJ, the front desk attendant, was really nice and accommodating. Service animals are allowed at the property but not near the pool areas which made the stay less than expected. I went for a young boy’s birthday but wasn’t told in advance they had taken out the 60ft water slide which was why that hotel was chosen to begin with.

We have been coming to the SunViking for over 25 yrs. We brought our kids and now bring our grandkids. We have always enjoyed it until our last visit. We were so disappointed. The room felt dirty. The foldout couch had stains on it. The gym smell musty. The hot tub bubbles were not working and seems dirty. We never saw anyone cleaning the pools. We love the beach access and the outdoor pool. Not planning on going back anytime soon. Not the SunViking we've been used to for so many years.

This hotel is so nice with amazing amenities like two pools, hot tub, nice patio areas with chairs, lounges, tables, umbrellas and easy beach access. They need to provide pool towels, though. Out main complaint is that we literally got NO hot water in our shower AT ALL. We called around 10pm for assistance from the 24hr front desk and got no answer, so we took cold showers. In the morning, we called and were told very abruptly that we had not waited long enough for the hot water to descend from the 8th floor boiler which takes 30+ minutes. We tried waiting that long and got warm (not hot) water in the sink, but still no warm water in the tub/shower. This is something they need to address, not just tell the customer we didn’t wait long enough. Maybe step into the 21st century and upgrade your hot water system, since you are aware there is a problem!

Uhh i really wish i could show the pictures of the room when we got there.... the floors were disgusting me and my husband had to clean the entire floor. Went to the front desk because the room was dirty but also the lock to the balcony did not work. They didnt seem to care about the dirty room and just said maid already left for the day but maintenance was great and fixed the door right away. We are no strangers to cleaning so it was whatever we just cleaned it and enjoyed our stay. We had a great time and we stayed for 4 days. Never saw house keeping or anyone. Well i guess because the floor wasnt cleaned when we checked out

We checked in around 9pm and received great service upon arrival. It was late and the room had poor lighting so we didn’t see the mold on the walls and ceiling. My spouse is a disabled veteran with lung issues. He was having trouble breathing. I was woken by the maid entering our room first thing in the morning. We requested a room change due to the mold. The maintenance man wanted my spouse to show him the mold before they moved us. We got into our new room; which was cleaner and minus mold. My spouse removed his clothes and laid down on the bed to relax. The maid came in our room unannounced again. We complained and asked for a discount or refund. The “resort” refused to help because we booked through Expedia. Expedia doesn’t do anything for you either.

Not happy about the room. The room smells very bad. The carpet is damp. Room smells like mold. The bathroom not clean like usual. Every other time we have stayed , we have always had great experience however this time is different. The guy at the front counter took 20 mins to get us checked in . I am very disappointed.

The staff was friendly. The room was dirty, the couch arms were peeling off. It looked rundown. I was nervous that it might have had bugs so I lift the mattress and pulled my back muscles, but luckily there were no signs of bugs. They need to renovate the rooms. I was in a room above the office.

This hotel is absolutely rundown, The rooms were dirty. The carpets were filthy. They smelled like mold and mildew. The workers were smoking marijuana. I would never stay at this hotel ever again. This is the filthiest hotel I have ever stayed at. We actually left early because it was so rundown and beat up. I don’t know how this passes any health inspections do not stay here.

Room was spacious and our pool view was amazing. Has an inside and outside pool and right on the beach, what more can you ask for? Hotel is dated just like 90% of Daytona Beach’s hotels but for the price I paid can’t beat it. Will definitely stay again

1st & 2nd floor rooms are subject to the noise of the indoor pool along with the loud guests. Loved the large rooms, kitchen and balcony, extra sleeping space. It was great for the price and time we spent there.

Sun Viking Lodge is a great property for the price. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, my room door was broken and they booked the room anyway. The front desk immediately sent maintenance up and I heard maintenance tell the front desk that it’s the door they can’t fix. My son and I had to push and pull VERY hard on the door to open and close it. I understand things happen, but my issue is that the property owner/manager has not fixed it while continuing to rent it out. In an emergency, it could be dangerous.

It’s in a very nice location. We had a room beachfront so that was wonderful. We went in August. It has a good layout in the room. It is kind of outdated in old after first few days. It did have kind of an odor in the room. Daytona Beach is high tide most days where we were staying so you could walk on the beach but as far as going out and just sitting, it was hard to do it rained while we were there so that might’ve had something to do with it it was clean. It just seemed like it’s a little outdated And a odor. But the price you pay it is exactly what you’re gonna get.

Check in was easy. Cora gave me all the details I needed except where our room was located. We finally found it in adjacent building. Then we had to call maintenance twice to get into our room when the keys failed to open the door. It was a known problem. Ocean views were awesome and the off shore breeze made it comfortable when I sat in the shade.

Staff was quick and very nice at check in and check out. The property was very busy but there was still parking available and the hotel was relatively quiet for being as busy as it was. Rooms are a little dated but over all maintained well. Only issue we had was that the popcorn ceiling in the bathroom was starting to peel noticably and dropping on floor in bathroom. We had the kitchen room and all appliances worked. Coffee maker was unusable as it was filthy inside but we made due without it. The hotel gounds and common areas were kept nice as well. Still some minor storm repair going on but overall a nice place to stay with a nice staff. No issues encountered during our stay. Would definitely look into coming back.

This was my first time here. When I got here on Friday Heather the front desk girl was amazing. All the staff was amazing to be honest even the cleaning staff. It was definitely a nice getaway. Even tho it was Labor Day weekend it was still relaxing here. The view from had of the beach was just what I needed and easy access to the beach. I’ll definitely be back and recommend this place to others!!!

Key cards had to be rekeyed three times each day we were. Management came banging on our door late at night telling us we were calling 911 from our room over and over. She was extremely rude and way too direct. When we explained we had just arrived and never use a room phone as we have fell phones she asked us to unplug the room phone. When I went to check out I mentioned it to the front desk and they told us our little child had been making the calls. Odd thing is…it was only my husband and I and no kids at all on this trip nor do I have little kids. Front desk didn’t want to hear it. There were other issues with cleanliness but nothing major.

I attempted to get a hold of the manager 5X . No answer back. The check in took over 20 minutes. I think the man who took care of accidentally gave our nice room to someone else because I received a email saying thanks for checking in etc a hour after I booked the room. We booked online . The room was terrible , smelt like mold or wet carpet . The carpet was damp . The air filter was filthy . I’ve been staying here for 12 years and never had an issue . Ants or some kind of insects were crawling all over the table.. I couldn’t find any house keeping for more towels because our room had only 2.. I regret staying here sadly and may not come back . I hope Gary the manager sees this and does something

This property suffered damage from the hurricane. They did not mention that the pool was closed and that there was a lot of damage. The area is rundown and lots of homeless people. I would not recommend this property at all.

This property was perfect for a family. We had adequate space in our room, a beautiful view, and easy access to the indoor pool and beach. There is a basketball area and cafe for convenience. The facility is old and there were some touches that are needed for it to really be 5 stars. However, the kindness and courtesy extended by the staff more than made up for it.

My family of four stayed one night, and I was pleased with our accommodations! The front desk staff was extremely friendly and welcoming! The indoor pool was heated, and very cute! Beach access and the restaurant on the property make it convenient to enjoy the ocean without having to walk miles away to find food. The rooms are equipped with a small kitchen, which is great and they are very clean! The outdoor pool and playground were closed unfortunately due to renovations, but overall I enjoyed my stay! The price is affordable for a family, and is oceanfront, I will be visiting again the next time I’m in Daytona Beach!!

I'm giving 5 stars because I had a fantastic experience. Here are the reasons: Cleanliness: Honestly, not the cleanest exterior but the room was fantastic. Clean beds. Clean bathrooms. Balcony was perfect. Staff and Service: the front desk staff were amazing. Honestly, it was so nice to not feel intimidated going into a checkin experience. There was an issue with our Expedia booking and they were soooo cool about it and helped us out! They were friendly, chatty and down to earth. Property and conditions: I've been coming here since I was a kid and the place still looks the same. I'm now 30. HOWEVER, I find comfort in this and honestly think it's the greatest. The staff seem to really love their jobs and that makes up for everything else for me! Around the area: the location is just fantastic. The beach is perfect, safe and they are central to EVERYTHING you could want. If you book here knowing you'll meet amazing staff and have a great time at the beach and chilling in their pools or sipping drinks from the little cantina/bar area, you'll be in the right place. Just don't go in expecting an updated, $500 per night stuffy hotel and you'll have an amazing time. Would definitely go back <3

Check in was ok but smelled like I was at a bake out. (Weed) We were charged a resort fee yet the hot tub they advertised was not hot. We were told breakfast is at 7:30 not true. Someone needs to up the management. We overlooked a awning with lighters, bottles, and shoes which had been there a while. Nothing at this place speaks above a 2 star.

While the hot tub was broken and they had no slide anymore and the Viking Kafe wasn’t open for the 3 days we were there it was clean, comfortable and the indoor pool was very nice. Staff is friendly and accommodations were clean and nice
