Best Western On the Bay Inn & Marina

Overall the hotel was clean and the front desk staff was friendly. We were not told about a special event being held on Saturday night (we had 4 nights booked, Thurs - Sunday). There is a restaurant on the property where the event was being held. Half of the parking lot, nearest the restaurant, was blocked off from the hotel registrants. There was sufficient parking on the far side of the property, but for my husband specifically, he is disabled and the route was a bit tricky back to the room. Additionally, the special event was a professional DJ and the music was extremely loud and bumping. However, it did end at 10pm. Overall a minor nuisance, but believe we should have been warned about the event. Overall, I would recommend the hotel to friends, but suggest the front desk staff be more aware of events that could impact the guests.

The room didn’t have a microwave and the floors in the rooms don’t get mopped cause my feet kept getting dirty when I walked around in my room barefoot, also once u arrive to check in… u have to pay $25 a day for parking after paying for ur stay! And then resort fee! And a deposit fee! No breakfast included and no microwave for all that money is ridiculous! Not worth none of that!

Location was beautiful. Has an open air restaurant and bar on the water and was the deciding factor when booking. When we arrived both were closed for a private party. We were not notified in anyway and could not cancel and get a refund due to booking through a 3rd party

The pictures of the rooms are not a good depiction of what they really are. The floors were very dirty. The shower in our bathroom barely worked, seemed to be a plubing issue. When it comes to parking you are expected to pay "event rate" parking which at the time was $40 a night, even if you are just a guest in the hotel. You also get looks from the bouncers of the club when you are just trying to go to your room. The rooms should have a seperate entrance from the restaurant. You should also be informed before your stay that if you stay in a bay front room the music is very loud from the restaurant/club.

Surprised by a $27 "resort fee" at check in, that's never mentioned before. Then a $24.40 parking fee per day. Bathtub was like riding ocean wave...really! No coffee maker in room and restaurant didnt open until 11am.....checkout time. Mini-frig too small to hold take-out boxes. On the plus side, tv was huge property was clean, and pool area great. Beautiful location on shore of waterway.

The pool area was a highlight—clean, peaceful, and surrounded by greenery. It felt private and relaxing. We spent hours lounging under the palm trees. A true escape.

I thought it would be convenient to have the restaurant at the same place but we couldn’t get in because they were booked. On the weekend they had really loud music booming into my hotel room. We had to show proof that we were staying there so we could park. It was reallly crowded.I’m used to getting complimentary coffee at a hotel either in my room or the lobby but they charge $2.50 for a small cup. When I checked out they didn’t ask how my stay was. Just an okay stay but the pool area is nice.

My room was on the 3rd floor and the elevator was broke. Both ice machines close to my room did not work, I had to go to a different building to get ice. The room towels were falling apart and were well used.

Cool location- pool with water access. Palm Tree Club restaurant is a spot for Saturday afternoon events, but drinks are overpriced. During regular restaurant hours the food menu is also overpriced for what is offered. Stayed in Miami multiple times, various locations, still trying to figure this one out. The lobby is updated, looks and smells great, but the rooms don't match that aesthetic. Its an old hotel theyre trying to revamp, but still have a lot of work to do. Shower and sink drains were very slow to go down and bathroom had a mildew smell to it. No towel refresh- gave us 1 washcloth for 2 people and 3 nights. Had to ask daily for towels at the pool but they offered water and sunblock which was a nice touch. For a quick weekend trip, it served the purpose especially for the price but it would not be my first choice to stay again.

This was not like the pictures, barely stayed in the hotel because the beds were dirty and we had to use blankets to cover the bed. There was stains on the pillows and in the covers, bugs and not as advised. I would want at least half of my money back from this hotel because she didn’t care because they are used to this.

The welcome to the hotel was a cockroach in the bathroom then when I was going up to the room outside the elevator another cockroach and then in the room another cockroach was waiting for me in the bed

The staff was very friendly. Good location. The reception desk was new, and the pool was nice. However, the rooms were in terrible condition: the air conditioning units were very old, noisy, and leaked into the room. The bathroom door was ruined due to humidity. The bathroom walls had a plastic covering that was peeling off instead of tiles. The furniture was very old and damaged. The ground-floor rooms were damp. The hallway ceilings were leaking, and the central air conditioning unit was constantly making an unbearable noise.

This place is dirty and outdated. The bathroom floor was dirty. The room is so outdated. The balcony view was over the water but above the restaurant and messed with the ocean views and was extremely loud everyone. I would not stay here again.

What began as a great trip with my cousin ended with bed bug bites and the staff of this establishment threatening to call the police on us and eventually doing so. While we received a refund, nothing can repay us for the pain we’re still experiencing after being attacked by bed bugs and having little to no kindness, fast action and understanding shown to us by the hotel staff. After being lied to and having our refund rejected over the phone, we were forced to go there in person only to have to wait for a receipt that never came. We were also told the manager would be there and there was no manager on duty. Only after we were run off by a threat of police presence did we receive our receipt. There’s no way to fully put into words the distress we experienced after having to leave our room in the middle of the night and wash loads of laundry until 5am. All I’ll say is I hope no one ever stays at this hotel. The service was poor, their systems are broken. Additionally, this place is a noisy club for teens where hotel stayers can’t even call an uber without complication. This was a mistake that we’ll never repeat. I hope this place swiftly goes out of business.

Stayed in Room 312 and was shocked by how poorly maintained the room was. The pillow had a terrible smell and visible stains, there was a dirty towel and a used Q-tip under the bed, and the entire area was dusty. There were also stains on the tile floor, and no garbage can in the bedroom. It was clear the room had not been cleaned properly. Totally unacceptable for any hotel. Definitely would not stay here again. I guess that’s what you get for what you pay.

Upon check in the condition of my room was horrendous. The room was filthy. The floor was black with dirt. There were used toiletries left for us to use. There was only one towel set up left behind (despite me and my wife checking in). The toilet had tissue left in it and hair on the toilet seat (assuming it was public hair). I went down stairs to ask for assistance with the front desk staff explained to him the condition of the room and was assured that someone would be upstairs to help me. After a half hour wait someone came upstairs with extra towels and toiletries. I asked if the room would not be cleaned I was told that there wasn’t any house keeping staff until the following day. In an effort to not ruin the experience of the trip I took it upon myself to clean the room. I literally had to get in my hands and knees to sweep and mop the floor with one of the towels given to us because we weren’t given any supplies. When I say the towel was black when I was done that is not an exaggeration. After cleaning we decided to go out and attempt to enjoy the night. Naturally let’s take a shower after the flight and spending a few hours cleaning up. Of course now the tub is clogged. Again asked for help and none was provided. Still washed up as best as we could and went about our night. Upon returning to the the room we walk in to the smell of mildew and a huge puddle on the floor because the air vent is leaking. Needless to say we slept in the car for the night. It wasn’t until

This is the worst hotel that my family stayed in. We found bed bugs in the bedroom, ask front desk to come and check and they didn't hesitate on coming. Ask to speak to the manager instead received a false email address.

I checked in the room was clean from first glance. Then I started finding straight black hair on the sheets and towels. My hair is straight but it’s fire red. The tiny ants all over the bathroom. The tv not working and the ac never got cold no matter what it was set to.

We stayed here for two nights. Tried the breakfast once, which turned out to be very poor and bad quality foods, full of gluten. Friendly staff. The coffee machine and souvenier store is a nice addition. Bathroom was very dirty. Like someone shaved their pubic hair and it was on the floor all around the toilet and bathtub. It was still there after the housekeeping did their job next day... Shame.

Our room was cozy, quiet, and very comfortable. It had everything we needed for a great stay, and the bed was especially comfortable. The hotel has a charming and relaxed atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.

I stayed 4 nights with my Daughter. We had a balcony room. We enjoyed watching the sun rise from the balcony. And ate pizza for dinner on the balcony. The staff were great. I was only able to eat dinner at the restaurant one night. I had pasta, my Daughter had fish nuggets, we shared a coconut water (it was in a real coconut), and I had churros. I loved the ambience of being right on the water with great food, great music and great company. The airport was approx 30 mins from hotel. South beach was approx the same distance depending on the time of day.

Location was great. On the water. Clean rooms. Electronic door card didn't work almost every night Lamp in they room didn't work the entire stay. Elevator broke down. Was bad to carry a full suit case down 4 levels of stairs

Disappointed overall all experience. The rooms are very basic, TV doesn’t work, the air conditioning sounds was so loud felt like the building was about to take off. No noise insulation from the outside, so expect loud car horns. The elevator did work half the time, the gym was terrible, the pool is the only good thing about this place.

Palm tree club was nice for a visit , however I have a feeling they treat reservations booked through Expedia differently than those who may have booked thru them. We bought what was listed as a bay view deluxe king room , ended up with an extremely tiny room across from the ice machine and a balcony over the parking lot with a small view of the ocean. The pool did not have towels most of the time, when people would ask staff , staff would get annoyed and say something like well you don't see any do you? Interesting. We were also given joining rooms where we could hear everything that the other guests were doing. The bathroom is extremely small, no room to get ready.

Very impressed with The Palm. It’s a stylish hotel with great attention to detail. Room was quiet and super comfortable. The staff was helpful from start to finish.

We had a minor issue when we checked in — our room wasn’t ready — but the staff handled it quickly and even offered us complimentary drinks while we waited. The rest of the stay was amazing. Clean rooms, great location, and awesome vibes!

I arrived for my 4pm check in on 4/16/2025 and my room was not ready. I didn't get my room key until around 7pm. The front desk held my bag and I left to go get some food but I really wanted access to my room to freshen up. This was around 4:45 pmthat I arrived.

Staff at check in were great we were able to check in early. Very accommodating. Other conveniences such as market, stores and restaurants were close by walking distance.

My stay at this hotel was very disappointing. I could not reach anyone on the phone, no matter how many times I called the front desk or housekeeping. I requested housekeeping three times, and no one ever showed up. On top of that, the room key was a constant issue—it stopped working every time we came back from outside, and we had to go downstairs to reactivate it. This happened every 5 to 6 hours, which was incredibly frustrating and inconvenient.

The hotel placed a £211 deposit hold on 28/10, which unfortunately has still not been released (now 8 days). I have sent several emails to the reservations/accounts teams but have not received a clear update. Hotels.com has also contacted the hotel on my behalf regarding the release of the funds. This delay is not acceptable, as the held amount is causing me to incur daily overdraft interest. I would greatly appreciate it if this matter could be resolved urgently.

I traveled to Miami for the TikTok Fragrance Lab and was really looking forward to staying near the water at Palm Tree Hotel. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. Upon check-in, I was asked to write my credit card info on a sticky note, which felt extremely unsafe and unprofessional. I didn’t feel comfortable handing over sensitive information in that way. Additionally, I had booked my room two weeks in advance, only to be told my reservation had somehow been reassigned — and that I had to cancel it, which made no sense. The staff I interacted with, including security and a young woman at the desk, were not welcoming or helpful during a stressful moment. Thankfully, I ended up booking at the DoubleTree nearby (by the police station and 7-Eleven), and they gave me a much better experience. I wouldn't recommend Palm Tree Hotel based on my visit — especially if you're traveling for business or content creation. Your peace of mind matters.

Staff were so friendly and helpful throughout our stay. They gave us great local tips and always greeted us with a smile. Excellent service makes a big difference!

I like that it’s very cute and beachy. The area is good and convenient as it’s between Miami and Miami beach

Overall it was a decent stay apart from the large discrepancy of the view, compared to the listing it did not look the same, staff was great and very accomadating. Was a great distance from all of the main places like south beach and brickell.

The service is average, so dont expect anyone to go out of their way to help you. You also need to complete a form to get your breakfast (very limited options - croissants, muffins, coffee or orange juice) so nothing special here, when i made reservations i was advised its a full breakfast, so dont expect this otherwise you will be dissapointed. The hotel also didnt tell us we need to complete the forms before 5pm previous night, so 2 days we got nothing just a coffee which i had to wait for 20 mins, plus you need to collect breakfast if you get it from Reception, all in a paper bag, again seems poor service. But the hotel did remove the resort fee of $67 due to not advising correctly of the process. Bathroom was tiny and needs attention. But again, we didnt stay around the hotel just slept at night and explored Miami. Would I stay again??? probably not, i would try and find an Air BNB as they have more space and convenience. There are lots of food and fast food options nearby and the location is good as it was about 10-15 minutes to Beach area or Downtown in a car.

The hotel isn’t super clean and some things are a bit worn down. It definitely looks better in photos than in person. That said, the location is pretty good—but keep in mind you’ll need a car. If you’re hoping for a more walkable experience, you’re better off staying in Miami or Miami Beach. For the price, it’s decent, just don’t expect too much. It’s a good spot to sleep and go, especially if you’re only in town for a short trip.

Great location right in front of the sea, but the hotel could use some TLC and updates.

The stay was great! The pool area was well kept and had accommodations like towels, sunscreen, and cooling lotion. Which made the relaxation experience wonderful. The restaurant staff is very kind, however the food is a bit pricey with small portions. The local restaurants and grocery store in walking distance had a lot of selection so that was the perfect alternative for our stay.

This hotel looks cute and is in a good location, however there were a few things that may need to be included. There were no towels outside for the pool, no pool towels in the room. There was no ice bucket, or cups inside the room. Although the room looked clean, the floors left our feet dirty. The bed I slept in, wasn’t very comfortable. They do have the restaurant, but for hours you need to call or check in, we went in at 9pm to grab a drink and was told the kitchen was already closed, the happy hour they advertised, wasn’t really a happy hour, for 4 drinks we paid 80 plus dollars.. nothing special, just regular margaritas. Although their website said they were open until 11pm, they closed at 10pm. I was looking forward to this stay based on other reviews, but I was disappointed.

You get what you get for $200 a night. The hotel was clean. The staff was helpful. Too bad we could not order drinks or food from the restaurant at the pool. Apparently this restaurant is some kind of a landmark in the area and was packed. No preferences to get a table as a hotel guest. Food was great though but drinks were overall very overpriced ($17 for a margarita which wasn't anything out of this world) Would had been nice to be able to order appetizers and drinks from the pool and have it charged to my room but they don’t allow that.

Everybody was extremely nice and kind that the hotel is very cute now it is an older hotel that they remodeled and everything was great. I mean the last day we found two roaches in the room. They were dead, thank God so you do have to know that it’s an older hotel and you are maybe gonna get some bugs coming But other than that the pool is really nice. The restaurants are a little expensive.

I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights. Since Miami is a very humid city, I was surprised to learn that room cleaning is only done every three days. The air conditioning in the room was weak, and it felt like we were sleeping on damp sheets every night. Our reservation included breakfast, but the hotel required us to fill out a form at the reception the day before in order to have breakfast the next morning. This policy makes no sense — if breakfast is already included in the room rate, it should be up to the guest whether to have it or not. If you forget to fill out the form, they simply don’t serve you breakfast! And the breakfast itself is very basic — just a croissant or yogurt and coffee. Overall, I was disappointed with the service and comfort, especially considering the hotel’s humid environment and lack of proper air conditioning.
