This property is awesome- the perfect place for a true relaxing vacation. The amenities are incredible; beautiful spa, indoor and outdoor pools, workout area, restaurant and separate bar, salon and outdoor pool bar overlooking Tampa Bay. The walkable Main St. has an array of delicious dining options and quaint shops. Safety Harbor is a beautiful area. Quiet and welcoming. You never have to leave the area to have a spectacular and restful vacation!

Excellent spa experience, worth the $$. Spa amenities were great and can be used all day with the package. Crystal was awesome. Large, clean room but balcony railing was very rusty. Big stones around pool are slippery and hot. David at the pool bar was excellent as was the band. Jessie at the indoor bar took good care of us, live music was also great the night we were there.

We stay here a lot. I was disappointed because the air wasn’t as cold in the room as usual and I woke up sweating. The bed was a little hard also. The steam room was out of order our whole stay which was very disappointing because it’s my favorite. When we were in the sauna, there’s was a roach, which I was very surprised to see because everything is usually too notch. One of the hot tubs was also out of service. We will return but hopefully it’s a better experience next time. Highly disappointed.

The hotel is quaint, yet elaborate. The history of the hotel is interesting. We had a good time, especially at the outdoor pool. Our concerns include the following: 1-llarge eak in roof that soaked the carpert in hallway, 2-walking around pool on very slick tile was dangerous, slipping often, 3-no microwave in guest rooms, 4-although there is plenty of room around the outdoor pool, there is no hotctub. A hot tub would be acgreat addition. 5-waiter in restaurant was way too overworked and it took a long time to get our food, which was only lobster bisque and coconut shrimp.

Super convenient to downtown Safety Harbor, great layout and pool. Wonderful views of Tampa bay and access to walking paths and nature park on the bay. We were celebrating a family birthday so i got 4 facials at the spa for the ladies. Only one of the facials was good according to my family, the rest seemed to be trainees and there was a vast difference in the service for each of my family members. Just not worth the $125 plus tip for 3 out of 4. However, the place just smells funky. We have had black fuzzy stuff on the walls in previous rooms. After the most recent tropical storm (some wind, some rain - kind of a typical Sunday) there were leaks all over. Lots of waterspots on the cielings from previous rain damage and buckets and safety cones all around. We were on the 4th floor and the entire 10' by 20' elevator lobby carpet was completely soaked. We told the front desk 5 separate times, including when we checked out, that no one had set up fans, or done anything about the carpet (this is over a 36 hour span). Front desk apologized and said they had so many leaks the maintenance team couldn't keep up. My sister has mold allergies and she can't visit us here, - so Caveat Emptor.

Turn of the century elegance with modern amenities. This was the perfect place to host a wedding or other special event. The resort had beautiful spa facilities, a lovely outdoor pool with bar and dining options. I would like to return for a girlfriends' vacation.

The hotel was nice but it has a stench that carried on the bottom floor. In our room enjoying a show , a roach ran across our breakfast ordered from room service! These two instances made our stay horrible and specially choosing the venue after some research for a nice place near the water.

This place used to be so beautiful, but it’s definitely getting old and needs upkeep. The ceiling was literally falling in our room. There were industrial blowers in the hallway and a smell of mildew. They don’t pick up our breakfast dishes from outside out door the whole weekend. The staff wasn’t friendly. And there was a cockroach carcass on the old dingy carpet near the door. The shower didn’t work. I could go on but this should paint enough of a picture. It was a bummer because I used to love this place.

I have stayed at this property several times before, and it has always been great. This time not so much. I dumped my stuff in my room and went out to dinner, but when I came back, the room was full of mosquitoes. I walked into the bathroom when they were gathered around the bathroom lights and around the toilet. I found a tissue and managed to kill a good number of them probably around a dozen also, but there was still some in the room. I didn’t ask for a replacement room because it was late. After 10 o’clock, and I was tired from my travels.When I woke up the following morning, I was covered in bites. When I mentioned this on checkout, the person behind the desk didn’t seem to care at all. In fact, he could barely even look me in the eye. Unfortunately, it is the nicest place to stay in Safety Harbor, so I will probably end up staying there again. However, you can be sure that if there are mosquitoes in the room, I will demand a replacement room.

Outdoor pool and bar staff were very nice. However the two individuals sitting by the towels (not sure why there are two) are more involved in their own conversation and don’t maintain the area. They also constantly runout of towels. With two individuals just sitting around this is unacceptable. The room attendants are all very pleasant. The rooms are old and need to be updated. Today we found mold by the air conditioning vent. Room always felt wet. Nothing dries, towels and bedding feel constantly wet. Lady that met us when we arrived was down right rude. When we arrived she very mean and rude to an older gentleman that had lost his room key. She dismissed him and started our check in and barely told us about the activities. The employees in general seem miserable and try to avoid eye contact. The building is rundown, rugs are dirty and ceiling have stains in most areas.

What I didn’t like? 1) The place had disgusting carpet. The carpets were not clean at all. 2) bathtub wasn’t clean good. Thanks God I always carry stuff with me. 3) if you have 2 people in a room it should have two soaps for body, 2 shampoos etc.

Our room and the hotel lobby were very nice. The pool deck was the dirtiest I've ever seen. We could'nt get over how dirty it was. Very disappointing because the food and drinks at the outdoor bar were very good. The spa area is in need of renovations. It looks shabby unlike the beautiful lobby. One of our outdoor patio chairs was ripped and we couldn't use it. We requested a new one but said they didn't have any replacements. The hotel wasn't fully booked. They could have borrowed one from an unoccupied room but didn't choose to.

The hotel states they redid the rooms last year. I doubt that. The carpet looked 25 years old and stained. The walls dirty and baseboards rotted. I stayed one night having paid for an ocean view balcony. It smelled. Id pass on this one.

Liked end unit of Terrace view over the Pool, but Partial Bay view with giant palm trees blocking bay view, butler's pantry with sink, efficient. Outdated bathoom with tub, thin walls can hear next door guest like they were in the bathroom with me/ heavy doors that slam all day.too noisy. Stayed before in the older tower bay view above tennis court, not noisy but very outdated.

I was at room 311. That room is incredibly toooooo noisy, there is no noise insulation between rooms at all. I was able to hear the room 312 guest snoring the whome night, phone calls, and all audibly noise possible. I was not able to rest at all. On top os that, the ac control looks outdated and the unit itself makes a lot of moise when it turns on. Impossible to keep the unit on and sleep at the same time. Other than that the staff and overall amenities looks very fancy and well maintained.

We booked this resort for a trip up to Clearwater for a concert. Because I originally booked only 1 night but added another, we had to move, but both rooms were very nice. The Superior room was massive! With 2 balconies and a great view of the bay. It's a bit confusing because of separate "towers" and we couldn't find any ice in one of them, but the resort is lovely. The staff is very helpful and very nice. We stayed for the Sunday Brunch which was amazing! Entertainment, Mimosas and wonderful food. It was like a step back in time. I believe it was built in 1924, or around then, so just thinking what a beautiful site it was back then, was really cool. Right in the heart of Safety Harbor, restaurants, shops, water, all within walking distance was great. I would definitely stay there again and again but longer next time.

Well, let me start with what I didn't like. The people at the Front desk were professional (to a point), but also NO passion or heart. Were kind of rude and looked down upon, if you weren't dressed like money. My five days there I spent a lot of money at SHR. I'm thinking this next guy was the manager at the restaurant (older gentleman / bald, with glasses) and this guy was very rude. My son and I have been sitting at a table for 25 minutes with no one helping us (This was the Saturday before Mother's Day), and he had to make a little sarcastic remark about after the 25 minute-wait, he says, "Now look at all the attention you're getting." I had to deal with dirty looks the whole time. We paid and we tipped well, even though this is the customer service my son and I were getting. Very disappointing. Okay, one bright spot was "Eddy," very nice and outgoing. And shout out to the nicest and genuine people in that resort was "Housekeeping." Also, the resort had "Spectrum" internet, ...and that was "always" cutting out. This was horrible. So what went well? Besides some awful customer service, the food was "Amazing." BEST eggs benedict I've ever had. Drinks, pool side were fabulous, and I liked the amenities that came with the resort, even though the messuages were fully booked and the young brunette lady there didn't bother to tell me the next available appt. The location of this Resort was great and our room was wonderful with exception of couldn't watch any local news.

Most staff were great except for the tall gentleman at the front desk.. he was rude. My mother and I actually sat and waited for him to walk away and spoke with a woman who stated our room had been ready when he did not even bother to look.

To start, the check-in process was not easy. The clerk who helped us was new, you could tell. We were PROMISED rooms next to each other and when she assigned the rooms and they were not, we asked how far apart they were but she couldn't even tell us. I asked her to asked someone that would know! We were then told they were sold out and couldn't help it. Bad customer service! The next bad customer service came when I called 10 minutes after 10:30 a.m. for room cleaning the next day. Supposedly their cut off is 10:30 a.m. on the nose. I was told they could not add us to the list! So the whole 3 nights we were there, we never got our room cleaned or so much as a clean towel!

Hotel told us our reservation was canceled when we tried to check in. Despite having a email from Expedia with hotel confirmation number. Front desk staff insisted that we no longer had a room 45 minutes later the hotel rebooked a room for us. However, every stay at Safety Harbor spa and resort there has been an issue. For the air conditioning not working to room being cancelled.

Overall this is a great place to stay. The main reason is the hotel's location. Once you arrive, you never need your car until you leave. Everything is very walkable. The hotel is in bad need of updating. It does seem clean but everywhere you look seems to be outdated. Great amenities. Just wish they would work on freshening things up some.

Just stayed for one night - had a family member from up North passing thru FL so I booked us a night here. I’m a local & have stayed here before, like 10yrs ago. I love this resort! Beautifully landscaped, great pool, tiki bar area. Loved our room - 4th floor gives gorgeous views of both the pool deck & of Tampa Bay! Wish we had more time here but this inspired us to do it again in the future for longer time. The location on the water & next to the Main Street district in Safety Harbor was perfect. Thank you!

This is a perfect spot to just relax and enjoy good food within walking distance. Beautiful place and you wouldn't realize it while you're there but it's conveniently located 15 minutes from tampa international Airport.

I really do love the safety harbor spa. I've been going there for many many years and do the occasional overnight stay for a little get away. The spa services I booked were awesome. The young lady I was scheduled with did an amazing facial. I feel like where they need a little work is on their food and beverage staff; serving wine out of dirty wine glasses, inattentive to people standing around the bar asking them if they need anything and just the little things that would make this place over the top five stars from me

Location is nice. Close to shops, restaurants, walking path, etc. Free parking! Rooms were big, but the door had to be pulled shut forcefully. Filled out the card for breakfast, hang it on the door, but never received and was told it was due to them not knowing which room it was. I am not sure why the person that pulled the card would not have written that information, if it was needed. I thought I had done my part. Great burger at the pool though. It wasn't anything fancy. If anything the structure itself could use some attention inside and out.

We only stayed one night so we didn’t get to experience all the resort has to offer such at the pool, the spa, or anywhere else on the grounds. We did however eat in the restaurant for breakfast and the food and staff were exceptional. The rooms were very clean, very comfortable. Nothing to complain about. I hope to return in the future, stay longer and have an even better experience.

I used to travel for work, and the only negative thing I can say is this is the ONLY hotel I’ve ever stayed at that does not offer free coffee! It’s about $10 for 2 coffees. We advised everyone there for the wedding to be sure to get coffee elsewhere!

Loved the pools and aquatic exercises. The spa area people were awesome. The restaurant staff was exceptional. In the mornings, the pool area was not cleaned up ie: spilled milk, straws on ground and some in pool,glasses sitting under chairs and on tables. All in all, we had a wonderful stay and will come again.

This is a beautiful historic property. It reminds me of the way Florida resorts used to be. Service everywhere. It's very clean, and offers everything. Breakfast room service is available along with a pool patio bar and a solid menu of favorientertes from the restaurant. I had seen some other reviews commenting on a door hinge with rust on it, or other imperfections. This is an older property with old Florida charm, plus it sits on the waterway. What would one expect? Here's what you can expect. An excellent stay with food and drink available everywhere at all times, actual doormen, entertainment, a quaint downtown with some pretty surprising fun activity on the weekend evenings, pleasant staff, and very clean accomodations. Very nice stay, and we will return.
