The staff were helpful and nice but the property its self is very lack luster, and seems as though not well maintained. The pool very small with very sitting area about 4 pool chairs, no bar area until after 5 pm. Great location but hotel in general give it 2 stars.

The hotel was nice, the bed was comfortable. The pool was down 2 days for palm tree trimming. (The reason I booked the hotel.) The parking was not listed in the advertisement. $25.00 a day to park across the street. The AC unit worked awesome except it sounded like a jet when it kicked on. The staff was awesome, they were dealing with a Marriot outage, could not make keys, could not take credit cards. I ended up using cash for the food items at the little kiosk that I cant get reimbursed for since they couldn't print a receipt. but it was only $25.00 so not that big of a deal. Did enjoy the basket ball court though, didn't expect that.

Beds were comfortable, rooms were clean, property was nice. Parking garage is across the street, which is not optimal for a family with small children. It is also quite confining, so don\'t book this hotel if you are planning to drive your one ton dually with a lift kit. I was also disappointed that the parking fee was not disclosed until you clicked through the initial descriptions which simply said "Parking available". Parking is $25 per vehicle per night, which is a substantial add-on if you and your spouse require separate vehicles based on the nature of your stay. All in all, it is a good hotel, aside from the parking situation.

I stayed 4 nights but had no housekeeping at all. I had to go to the front desk a couple of times to get clean towels and extra coffee. Other than that I have no complaints, nice breakfast every morning, good gym, good pool, polite staff. I'd come back again for sure and also recommend to family and friends.

Kitchen and dishwasher were helpful, saved money on eating out. Windows aren't tinted in the rooms, you can see and be seen very clearly from the sister property. Check in does not explain that you're only allowed to park in very narrow spaces on specifically the third floor of the parking garage, otherwise your car gets towed. (It costs 178 USD and an hour walk to get it back, ask me how I know) You can hear lots of honking, ambulance and police sirens passing by. The downtown is just a block over and has a lot of shifty appearing nightclubs. Always lines outside the clubs, so they're probably decent, but very loud, expensive and seemingly pretentious based on their webpages. Homeless creep around area but not in front of the hotel.

Staff was amazing! Especially Ruby, the cook and other young lady in dining hall, and front desk. Pool was nice but closes at 9p. Has a basket court and a cute court yard. Has a full kitchen and I enjoyed the balcony and the breakfast best

There was no room service for the 3 night of our stay. They would just bring clean towels. When I asked for extra comforter since it was cold in the room and the AC could not be adjusted, I was told they don’t have any. The supposed to be white bathtub was all chipped and yellow. If you have a car and it to be parked they only have spots on level 3 of the parking lot across the street. If you come after 6pm spots are non existent which means you have to park across the street in the municipal parking which would cost arm 25 dollars per night. Overall not a great experience.

This property was not well maintained and was dirty in the rooms. The common areas were acceptable but our room was very old and smelled like mildew. The carpet was shredded near the bathroom entry. The tub had rusty chips and stains. The bathtub bottom was stained dark brown. There were stains on the pillows and blankets.

The hotel rooms were filthy. The staff tried to move us to 3 different rooms and they were all said to have been cleaned by housekeeping but there were dirty tubs and crumbs of food all over the floors. The next morning a manager had to have a housekeeper go back in and clean what they repeatedly missed! Even the balcony curtains were filled with large dirty marks… it was just nasssssty! On the contrary the front desk staff was top tier, very kind & professional. I believe the management co for the hotel needs to consider big changes with the housekeeping team, asap if they desire to last in midtown Tampa!

The room was dirty. We found 2 pills on the floor under the bed and under the couch. I found a cockroach on the counter the first night. We only got room service twice of out the 6 days. On the last day, in the middle of my 1 year old son's nap, they started doing extremely loud construction on the room next door without any sort of warning or notification.

The staff is very friendly and breakfast was good. But the room smelled like mildew and one could clearly tell the vacuum is only done in the middle of the rooms, everywhere else had a thick layer of dust. The pillows smelled like serious BO as well as the sofa.

We booked a room with double beds. Your company didn’t send the information to the hotel!I was forced to sleep(couldn’t sleep) on a pull out sofa with a metal rod in my back. The microwave didn’t work. The bathroom faucet dripped the whole night. Some of the electric plugs in the room did not work..

The staff were all very nice, polite and respectful. The rooms were very comfortable, clean and spacious and the beds were great. The street is extremely loud sounded like drag racing during the night and woke me up several times. Also couldn’t get the heat to work. When I switched from AC to heat it kept blowing cold if not colder. Not a big deal in Tampa I suppose but it was a little chilly….

Check in was quick. Room is very nice, but street noise was fairly loud. This is in downtown, so some was expected, but we were close to a highway entrance. When the light turned yellow it became a raceway.

The room was overall fine except for the sofa bed being far worse than any I’ve slept on in decades. Main bed was very nice so one of the two of us was able to sleep. Morning breakfast was enhanced by the wonderful lady working the food. Always polite and always asking what more she could do to help you out. Front desk was also very courteous. One other knock is that I got charged for using Wi-Fi both days, even though I am a lifetime platinum elite member and haven’t paid for Wi-Fi at a Marriott in over 15 years. The question is whether I want to waste my time to get back $12 and they answer to that is no. Not happy about it though!

Convenient location downtown for our sports event at University of Tampa. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good overall with decent hot options. Just know that parking is TIGHT. They have a garage with a small amount of spots reserved for the hotel but they fill up quickly and are insanely narrow. A good portion of them are not even able to be parked in unless you have a motorcycle. If the garage is full, there is an open side lot diagonally across from the hotel that is also for the hotel and we luckily were always able to find a spot there but still very tight. All parking is 25 a day which isn’t surprising given you are right downtown. One big disappointment of this property is that our bathroom in the one bedroom suite with a balcony we booked was absolutely terrible in condition. The shower rod was sagging and barely hanging on. It had been “fixed” multiple times given all the holes there. The shower wall had a huge crack in it, all the seams had been caulked multiple times and the drain was broke and a mess. The tub surface was completely dull and worn off, which caused it to look dirty. It reminded me of a bathroom you would find in an old rundown roadside motel, not a Marriott. It shouldn’t even be in service until they can renovate it. The hotel is definitely old and the rooms need updated very soon. Main areas were nice and seemed well taken care of. I would likely find somewhere else to stay next time.

The courtyard was beautiful. Our room had a balcony but it was falling apart. Our sliding door had been damaged and chipped drywall and paint accumulated on carpet so it hadn’t been cleaned in a while.

Wonderful stay in downtown Tampa. Was greeted by friendly staff who made sure we had everything we needed. Chris was very friendly and took the time to chat with us in a friendly manner. The breakfast was great each morning and the staff was happy to give us local recommendations.

My stay at Residence Inn was very peaceful and delightful. Everyone who worked there during my stay was very pleasant and very professional. I had no complaints with the room other than after so many years of wear and tear, there should be some remodeling that is considered to keep the maintenance of the hotel in tip top shape. Other than that, it was pleasant. Katrina was the 1st employee that I had an encounter with and she was amazing. I loved her energy, her professionalism and her customer service. She greeted us with a smile and accomodated any issues we had.

Though the staff was friendly and accommodating, the room service was horrible. The Room was not serviced as scheduled until we complained (other guests also complained about the lack service). Towels provided were not enough and there were no sheets in the room for the sofa sleeper. And one of the elevators was out of service.

This was one of the best hotel experiences my husband and I have ever had! I booked our hotel for the night of our wedding (we were traveling from NC) until our cruise left on Monday. My idea was to have the room ready as soon as we landed early AM so we could get some rest. Our flight was cancelled and rebooked and we ended up missing check in time. I was sleep deprived, frustrated with the airline, and didn’t even think to call the hotel to let them know we were running late. Our reservation ended up being cancelled, but JOSHUA saved the day! He listened to our situation and quickly gathered staff to clean a room for us. It took a little over an hour and I fell asleep in the lobby but we appreciated the sense of urgency! The room was so clean and felt luxurious. We got sooooo much rest and left for our cruise the next day. Upon coming back from our cruise we booked the same hotel and arrived much earlier than check in. JOSHUA once again accommodated us (bc rooms were available early on a Sunday… don’t expect this from reading this review.) We got plenty of rest the entire day and headed back to NC this morning. I wanted to be sure to highlight Joshua’s customer service! He was so helpful and we (exhausted newlyweds) appreciate his efforts to always make sure we were comfortable! Thank you Joshua, and God bless you!

I always pay fair or higher prices to stay in higher grade hotels like Residence Inn. You can't possibly expect me to accept waiting for almost 2 hours to check in. I was there at 3:30 pm for the standard 4 pm check in time. I was told room not ready (at 4) & was forced to wait until 5:45 pm to check in??? told room not ready according to front desk due to late check outs? Sorry do not believe that albeit it surely does not matter Late check in simply unacceptable. How about you offer a pro rated price? I booked the hotel back in February. Apologies are fine but extreme delays as such need to be properly compensated. I rent a room to get into it and spend my evening on my time, not yours - not wait for your hotel incompetence. You are technically on my time I'm not on yours. Unfortunately, your hotel is very poorly managed. Its a very nice hotel therein lies the shame of that! A top notch hotel run like a low level establishment. Thank you.

The location of the property is perfect for downtown and offer a great breakfast. What I disliked was the fact that they were repairing/replacing an AC unit in the room directly above us which was very loud and inconvenient for our stay. The repairs also vibrated the windows in our room which caused more noise. I went down to the front desk and asked if there was anything they could do for us and his response was "ear plugs." An offer for a different room would of been acceptable if one was offered, but it was not.

The location and price are good. The rooms are very worn. At the hotel we bought parking and after we checked out they have overcharged my credit card. It is completely impossible to get in touch with the hotel, they do not respond either via email or via Hotel.com chat. Now I have had to complain through the credit card issuer. Choose another hotel!

Our stay was for 1 night in a 2 bedroom suite. Room is dated and not well kept. Breakfast attendant was very rude. No tongs were provided for bagel station… I reached in to get a bagel and the stack of bagels fell over… I used my bagel to push the other back, so I could close the door…Attendant accused me of touching other people’s food. Just wow! Will never stay at this property again.

Great location, but loud street noise and loud AC, which blew in our faces all night long. Breakfast was disappointing. They ran out of oatmeal everyday. Really?!! Buy another pot and cook double- oatmeal is one of the cheapest things they could serve and they can’t make enough for their customers?!

Katina at the front desk is super! So friendly and great personality. Breakfast was good, plenty of options and everything hot that was supposed to be. Rooms clean. Within walking distance of restaurants and the concert that we were in town for. Only minor downside is the pool. It’s between 2 buildings so sun doesn’t hit it til like 2pm. Would stay again.
