Stayed 2 nights

2nd visit to Barnsley. It was more expensive than the first, therefore guest expectations should align. Here’s what we enjoyed and what we feel like bring real value to our stay- Landscaping is beautiful, the Staff is friendly and accommodating, the relaxation pool was enjoyable and well maintained, steam/room and sauna included for guest access. Now onto the cons and why we are contemplating a 3rd visit. Our top issue is the quality and freshness of the food at both Biergarten and Woodlands (we did multiple breakfasts, lunches, and dinners here). It is average at best and if needed to sum up in one word -= underwhelming. We did Jules on our first visit and that was not anything to rave about either. If you are going to stay at a resort for multiple days and pay what Barnsley is charging per night, the food needs a major makeover. The second issue was in our cottage. While bedding and areas appeared clean, there were stains on the main rug and on the bathroom walls. Once again, just not acceptable at these rates. We could also hear the neighbors that were in other rooms of the cottage, better soundproofing of doors and the connecting area is needed. Overall it’s a nice resort but in our travel experience the value isn’t aligning with the rates.

The whole experience was exceptional. The cottage was lovely. The Baretta experience was great. We enjoyed fishing, golf and horseback riding as well. We will absolutely be back.

Stayed 3 nights

The property was amazing!!! 10/10 we loved it! We would loveeeee to go back. The only thing I will say is for Expedia users there is a 700$ charge that is added when you get there on top of what you paid to Expedia. I think that Expedia should inform people about that cause 700$ is a lot!
